I agree that VC could be so much better, but I think people are putting too much blame on Nintendo. They can't force 3rd parties to take part. I'm guessing the Wii U is still too small-time for a lot of publishers to bother.
Obviously Capcom and some others are on board, and I can't imagine Nintendo is prioritizing them over other publishers who are waiting to get on board. Namco's throwing down Galaga and Pac-Man, but will we see the more obscure titles? For now, I think we will have to be happy with games from smaller publishers like Koei and Natsume, for who the minimal returns from VC games will mean more than to a giant company like Square-Enix or Konami.
