He seems to be wracking his brain over how somebody could dislike Knytt, yet at the same time, acts like it's impossible for somebody to LIKE Thomas Was Alone. I respect Knytt for what it is, but I liked Thomas Was Alone WAY better. While I didn't really like Knytt, I wouldn't act like it's insane for somebody to like it, like he's doing with TWA.

What can i tell you, if you liked twa then good for you.
 
do you guys remember this statement about Mirror of Fate?

Mutant blobs is an awesome platformer with levels(guacamelee is a metroidvania), where the blob has to absorb everything to go on and becoming bigger and bigger.
 
Knytt Underground was trash. Having a massive sized map is no excuse for piss poor level design. The game just feels amateurish. And the writing is obnoxious and pretentious. It was trying way, way, way too hard to be deep and complex, and eventually I just found myself skipping through every line of dialogue. It was a waste of time. There was no real sense of progression in the game either, and there are only so many incomplete quests I can have on my list, with no sign of being able to complete them that I can let build up before I lose interest and the will to continue. Some of the best games give the player a sense of satisfaction and reward for playing the game. I spent more than just a few hours on Knytt Underground (quite a few hours, actually), and by about hour 10 or so, I was done. I'd have preferred a non "story" driven, smaller, and tighter designed puzzle platformer than the bloated, pretentious thing we got. And I paid full price for it, because I was excited for it, and wanted to support what I thought was going to be a great game. $15 wasted in my opinion. But hey, I took a shot on it and it backfired. It happens.

I really enjoyed Thomas Was Alone, but didn't think it was anything special. It was a fun diversion, with some silly writing. Dokuro I've only played a little bit of, but I thought it was charming and will get back to it eventually.

Personally, I'm really enjoying Stealth Inc. over all of them. *shrugs*

Crazy, people have differing opinions on things! Who knew?!

The Mutant Blob games and Guacamelee are fantastic, however. Drinkbox simply knows how to design a tight game, even if, ultimately, they are shorter than many others.

Yeah, I don't even know what TWA is right now (will read ^ in a second), but I was mad at myself for buying Knytt at normal price when I had a hole burning in my pocket. I should have known better, but I was even somehow enjoying it for about an hour, until it changed to playing as a ball right when it got going.

I liked Mutant Blob well enough, but Gravity Rush is the earlier Vita game that wins my overwhelming support :)

Guacamelee feels like it offers something beyond the normal classic-indie-platformer-darling, but Mutant Blob felt like it's just a nice, sharp version of what I'd expect.

VERY much worth the sale price, but it didn't "wow" me as much as I'd have expected from early Vita impressions. But it's charming personality and humor can push it over the edge, if it really appeals to you.

I told myself I would ONLY buy Retail for Vita games....

But $15 MGS HD and $10 fighters are reallyyy pushing my limit....

Im copping Blood Dragon, Critter Crunch, and Mutant Blobs this week for sure. I remember seeing people rave about Mutant Blobs. Now I'll finally get to try it!

AND Spelunky is next week... Damn....

Im feeling iffy on Divekick guys... I know I would end up playing it more with friends so I know its worth it... Idk if I'd play it by myself though... who knows...
And If I do grab it... Id rather it be at sale price than full price.... help?!?

$10 might have been fairer, but it did have a 1st week discount at least. Initial profit needs to be made on port work. Nobody's going to port anything substantial just to sell it for $1-5. When Limbo released on Steam for the first time it was also a late port and full price for quite some time (non-sale list price is still $9.99), just as Spelunky is now. Same for the PS3 port.

Spelunky will inevitably find it's way into a Humble Bundle that you could buy for $1, and then get regular sub $3 sales on Steam at least once a year.

The second part of the sale starts when the store is updated on Tuesday.

For those of you that are still waiting on Dragon Fantasy: Book I's European release, Muteki has informed me that both Book I and Book II will be available later this year.

Meh there's nothing wrong with sales. What is devaluation in eyes of one is game finally reaching non insane prices for someone else.

Unless game is tier A experience lasting dozens of hours I'm not buying it for full price.

For 2012-2013 i've bought day 1 :

VLR, P4G, SoulSac, X-com, Diablo 3 and I'll add Dragon Crown to that list since it seems to have insane replay value.

So the only indies I can buy day one is stuff like Oddworld or Alien Breed collection which are packed with content for very nice prices.

...quest objectives for the most recently accepted quest were shown on the map. You just had to figure out how to get to them.

I personally enjoyed mutant blobs more than guaca. But that's because I got so fed up with combat in guaca that I stopped on the final boss and deleted it.
 
Already own a hard copy of Muramasa, but I think I'll pick up the digital version too...my wallet :'(

Don't get the appeal of Divekick other than the fact that it's sort of an inside joke among the FGC.

Isn't $10-20 already not full price, though? ie: not priced to a $60 spec. Kinda like when Strider 2 or Mystic Quest were $29.99 back in the day.

Different strokes, I guess. I dig the first two Oddworld Abe games and I'm really looking forward to New N Tasty, but not so big a fan of Stranger's Wrath. I wouldn't pay the going rate for Alien Breed on Vita. Looks like it would be too simple and repetitive, but does have a cool, old-school indie comic/zine pulp feel to it that interested me. I can get MSX games like Metal Gear 1 & 2 for free w/ MGS HD Collection, or play Stardust Delta for twin stick. Wish I could get Project Overkill on PSOne Classics.

I'd probably rather have bought Alien Breed than Knytt Underground, though. Games like Castle Crashers, Super Meat Boy, Spelunky, Guacamelee, Sound Shapes, Rocketbirds, Limbo, Machinarium, Sine Mora, Dustforce, Cave Story, Fez and all them are in a whole different league to me than stuff like Dragon Fantasy, Kung Fu Rabbit, No Time To Explain etc

I'm a 2D whore though, so scoring a great 2D game for $15 or less is a steal to me. Brings me back to the glory days of Treasure like nobody's business.

Well, yeah, but it simply wasn't fun trying to get those objectives. Other games have had similar design as Knytt, but were actually enjoyable. I just wasn't having fun, didn't enjoy the narrative, and eventually deleted it from my Vita. I have no desire to ever return to it.

I just wish more levels from the start were unique and completely crazy like the later ones.
