Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

Yeah I checked too but I'm just wondering if maybe that's a mistake since the store hasn't actually properly updated yet and you can only find it via the search function. Also they said it's getting a plus discount without specifying regions. If they didn't specify regions I naturally assumed it was getting a discount in all regions. Pretty disappointing if it's not.

Buy or wait? :/
They really need to communicate the prices better in advance. Also the step by step store update is annoying, even though I got some free stuff out of it.

TOTPR: buy Where is my Heart? (PS Minis)

oh and is walking dead confirmed for retail? ill buy digital if thats my only choice (like EDF) but havent seen the game in stores yet

I'm very pumped for Toukiden. It's a few steps up from MH PSP graphically, with AA and dynamic character shadows. No texture filtering, though, and it shows. -_-

KT better release demo version to the West so people can try it out.
It's really a good game, if you don't have any problem with that genre.

I have a general rule of not getting handheld games for full price, but KZM beta is making it hard to resist. :/

Any word if this will release discounted for PS+ members?

Is Divekick not getting a PS Plus discount in Europe?

Hmmm, Disappointing if not. Might hold off purchasing until it's on the store "proper".

DiveKick and the KZ:M Beta on the same day. Vita gonna get some heavy use over the next few days. Grabbed Killzone:Liberation for PSP in the sale as well. That's a great top down shooter.

How gorgeous does that look.

How's the customisation of your character's appearance? Do you get a lot of options and flexibility?

As for character's bare appearance (face, hair and such), the level of customization is similar to Soul Sacrifice.
For your gear there are quite a variation to choose from. There are 4 armor parts (helms, armors, gauntlets and boots) that must be crafted from your quest reward loots.

The thing is, many of those armors are really "armors", that it is quite rare to see your skin, let alone your hair. If you don't like it then you can always go missions without helmets however.

Do these armour parts offer significant stat benefits or are the purely cosmetic? If so, it's kinda disappointing that there's no option to hide helmets and I wish more games offered it as one.

Still, it sounds like a step above Soul Sacrifice's raiments and that's all I needed to be satisfied.

Each armor parts does increase your pure defense, along with elemental resistance.
Also, if you dress in one uniform then you're granted one passive skill. (ex. Spider boss helm, armor, gauntlets & boots set grants you "resist water" skill). However you'll get many other passive skills from Mitama (soul) system so you don't have to worry about it that much.

I've seen it advertised, but nowhere has it in stock yet. I think someone posted an email a few pages ago from Telltale, in which TT said retail had shipped late. One store I went to said they'd be getting theirs Thursday or Friday, so that sounds legit.

Yesterday's conference was great for announcements. But I'm very worried about Sony Bend and Sony's internal support for Vita. Killzone and Tearaway are looking to be the last internal "big" budget exclusives. Denny said that all first party studios are working on PS4 games, so that means that, at best, Bend is working on a cross platform game (which is very probable seeing PS4/PSV games such as Helldivers).

Anyway I won't care if it's on PS4 too, I just want to see the game. Bend is my favourite handheld developer.

* It was great seeing Shahid on stage and delivering.

Had to restart my Marvel online scores going from DD from cart, which sucks

but the swell of players and varying skill levels was great. some seemed to have learn the whole "rage-quit-not-counting" but my new record is 23-0

BRING IT ON!

it pretty much was a joke question though as you already knew the answer before you asked it.

you know, I actually was seriously debating whether to get one game over the other. I never thought some would take that as a joke. Anyways, I think I made a good choice by choosing UMvC. Many thanks to those who recommended the game!

I think they're just wary of announcing those titles too early, they don't want to take the limelight off of Tearaway or Killzone which are releasing soon, in addition there's other games releasing during this time period. I think what they announced at Gamescom was fine, we'll have to wait and see what they have for us at VGA's and TGS. They have another conference for Japan on Sept 9th, i'm sure that'll show us some Vita titles. For example Freedom Wars.

Downloading Killzone now to see what all the fuss is about - add me 'moobabe' to your friends list!

So - Vita is getting a shit tonne of games and ionica got banned. It's Christmas in August!

SO excited for Football Manager.

just throwing it out there, dont let this beta turn you off ( if it does) to KZm... i find it lacks variety. only 1 MP mode and 1 map gets stale quick.

Yeah - I've done enough of these to only know to play it a little, get a taste and see how I go.

I probably wouldn't play the MP much anyway - I just want to see how it looks.

I'm not even bothering to DL it but i did get in on the closed beta

even though the closed beta still only had 2 maps and 2 mp modes... it was refreshing because you could change between them and vary things up. - much better than this beta.

plus i found this map ( shore) to be the weakest of the three. all you get killed by are shottys to the face. no reason for another gun. which wouldnt be as big of an issue if i was able to play a longer range map intermittently to change things up.

Does anyone know how to join a WLAN wifi on a vita? you know type where you have to login when gien a username and password, much like you get when you stay in a hotel or 02Cloud wifi. I can join it with my iphone no problem as it brings up the login screen, but when I try to join it with my vita the login screen does not appear for me to log onto thus not letting me join the wifi :-(

If I saw someone online and that record, I disconnected without fighting because 99% is serious ragequitters.

My thoughts on yesterday. I certainly don't care for Borderlands 2 and wish they would put the money somewhere else but I am happy about the Indie support and especially hyped for BoI (even better that it is for free with ps+).

Rogue Legacy is also great but I've already played it enough on pc.

Overall I am happy with the Vita showing and know it will continue to satisfy my needs.

I've pretty much stopped playing Indy games when they come out (unless they overwhelmingly favor mouse control e.g. The Swapper) to give a window for a possible Vita version. It would be nice if they could make their releases (or at least the announcements) a little more timely.

I don't know what to think of Borderlands as I'm normally not too into playing fps games on consoles that I could play on PC but the art style seems to make it the right choice for a port. I have found the assisted aiming with gyro more fun than analog alone so it's a maybe if they go in that direction of Vita specific control

completely reasonable, but I would always play them first to see how bad they were. I've recently made the switch to fight request mode. If someone rage quits, it kicks me out of training mode which is annoying.

OK VitaGaf, if you had to choose between UMvC ($10) vs. Divekick ($8), what would it be? What would be the wise choice here?

Is this a joke question? ;)

UMvC3. Without a doubt.

Edit: hahaha, I see bobby asked the same thing and esoteric agreed as well. glad you made the right choice. ;)

Getting Broken Sword 5 on the machine by the end of the year is going to really seal the deal.

NA GAF, any word out yet on Killzone pricing? Just trying to balance out some PSN credit, seeing what I've got to play with before the game launches. Self-control, what's that?!

I don't mind double dipping. Stuff I'm really excited about I'll get - FEZ, Hotline Miami, FTL and Rogue Legacy etc - but when Rogue Legacy comes to Vita you know I be all up in that!

Borderlands is one of those for me - I SHOULD like it - I like unusual and brave art styles, I "like" FPS games and I like RPGs. I find it intensely boring though - I think it could be a good fit for Vita and I really hope it does well for everyone involved.

Overall a good conference for me (across all platforms) no 'MEGATONZ' but a steady flow of interesting stuff. As for Vita? Everything I wanted yesterday was pretty much delivered - I never expected something to blow my mind - but I got:

Memory card price cut
Remote play demo
Football Manager
Rogue Legacy
Starbound (I think that was Vita as well?)
Minecraft

Brillz.

No The Walking Dead Vita for the EU! How do all these game companies know that the one thing we love here in Europe is waiting for shit and reading on the internet about others enjoying said shit? Feels good.

Amazon has it up for 39.99 preorder. I image that's what it'll launch at.

Starbound is definitely a killer app for me. The fact the a handheld console is getting all of these fantastic games is astonishing.

My list of surprises and satisfactions is thus:

Broken Sword 5
Helldivers
Borderlands 2
Football Manager (tentative, as I don't give a tinker's cuss about the sport, but the idea of developing a team and stat-crunching on a format that can just go to sleep after a few tweaks is ideal)
BigFest
Volume
Starbound

...it's all quite nice. But I am sadly one of those myopic bell-ends who doesn't see much distinction between the entertainment value of an indie and that of a triple A. It's all good.

How misguided!

Good man. Cheers. A bit o' PSN pocket money to fritter away. Will hold out for Spelunky or some such.

Are there any ports I need to forward to play Killzone? I can't establish any connections in public games - EU here.

You wanna watch it son!

But you're right, you and I are stupid!

Ya, I dunno what's wrong with me, but if you look at my Steam game time distribution you'd see that I spend way more time playing indie titles than AAA titles. I know I need help but I can't stop myself.
