WWII veteran Delbert Belton survived being wounded in action during the Battle of Okinawa only to be beaten and left for dead by two teens at the Eagles Lodge in Spokane on Wednesday evening.Belton, 88, succumbed to his injuries Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Witnesses say Belton was in the parking lot of the Eagles Lodge at 6410 N. Lidgerwood, adjacent to the Eagles Ice-A-Rena, around 8 p.m. Wednesday when the two male suspects attacked him as he was about to head inside to play pool.

Police responded with K-9s to track the suspects' scent but were not able to locate them.

Spokane police are looking for two male suspects in the attack. They said the suspects are African Americans between 16 and 19 years old. One suspect was described as heavy set and wearing all black clothing. The other was described as being about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. There was no description of what clothing the second suspect was wearing other than a silk do-rag.

Update :
Demetrius Glenn, accompanied by his lawyer, turned himself in to police Thursday night, police said. He will appear in court Monday on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the savage assault Wednesday night on Delbert "Shorty" Belton, who was found wedged between the seats of his car in the parking lot of an Eagles lodge in North Spokane.

2nd Person still hasn't been found apparently.
 
First of all, this is terrible. I don't even know how something like this could happen.

Second of all, this is going to get a lot of play in the media I feel. Just avoid comment sections...forever.
 
I don't want to watch but..... WHY, he is 88 years old, even if he did something wrong and said bad word he is fuking old let him be mad, i am just saying in case they said those thing
 
This is one of those few moments that I truly question some people's humanity. Fucking hell.
 
oh I hope they catch those fucks fast. You guys can send down here to Texas for the punishment phase I'm sure the state won't mind giving them the needle.

There is never a satisfactory "why". People kill people and the sooner you stop bothering asking why the more sane you will be. Maybe it was a mugging. May he mouthed off. Maybe they just wanted to beat an old man to death. It's not like television. Half the time none of this shit would make an interesting murder mystery. Two teens kill an 88-year-old. That's your story. Maybe mommy didn't hug them enough or maybe the victim is a racist cunt, it doesn't matter. Nobody deserves to be beaten to death. Sorry, not trying to be a dick. I just see this shit a lot and there's never a good "why".

Nothing that wasn't already happening long before any of us were born. People are violent toward one another. This isn't new. The ability to hear about dozens of instances of it all around the world every day is what changed, not people.

If I found those kids I would kill them in the most painful way possible. WW2 vets deserve insane amounts of respect and in my opinion can pretty much get away with whatever they want. Fuck those guys

I think you're right. Perhaps this poor old man had violated his diapers and there was a dehumanizing odour emanating so the teens took matters into their own hands?

I think it's the fact that my parents are older now (70's) and I'm approaching middle age that I realize they won't be around forever and someone could do the same do them? I dunno.

But I see that pic and knowing what happened to him and I feel so fucking sad.

unlikely most media is liberal tilt so this wont get picked up other than on foxnews plus they already exhausted this weeks quota with that australian student shooting.

At least they had the excuse of shooting beanbag pellets causing internal bleeding... Okay, yeah, about the same thing, just more indirect. I don't get either attack, but this stuff is hardly uncommon, especially elderly pensioners getting battered and killed in their own homes by young burglars. I suppose it reaches wider circulation when the victim is a veteran.
