When I first read this sequence I legitimately said "fuck life" out loud. When I first saw it animated, I was like "WHAT".

Even now I feel all of those feelings come back to me. It was just too fucking tense given everything else in this arc.

Eh it's kinda lame the Al cliffhanger doesn't go anywhere, nor does that whole subplot now that I think about it. The only thing it affects is Al getting captured by Pride and Gluttony before the Promised Day.

Ed wins the title of most hardcore dude of the night.

Sorry Andrei, you didn't use your own soul to fix your internal organs after getting stabbed by a rusty pipe.

SHUNKAN SENTIMENTAL FTW

My man.

I first thought that the "use my own life force" to fix an otherwise mortal wound was a bit of a cop-out, but when you think that Philosopher Stones are essentially 'condensed life force' which amplify abilities tremendously, and how Ed is both an alchemy genius and has seen the Truth, I can accept that he could figure out a way to do it.

so we had sauske pulling out a victory, andrei wrecking shit and still crossing the finishline, jedi master fighting on a ship IN FUCKING SPACE, big O stopping itself from going underwater, and now ed gettinga pole run through him and healig himself WITH HIS SOUL, night of the clutch

This is my favorite Bebop episode. It's mostly lighthearted as they go to get the beta player and then FEELS right at the end.

Plus he's used a stone once before so he knows what it feels like to use a soul for power.

I don't think I have it in me to go through this one again. I'm going to sleep.

*Curls up in fetal position*

Its funny/sad that young people who might see Bebop now or a few years from now might actually be unaware of what the tape is, rather than the dramatic irony we get.
