GTA V has gone gold.

I hope the map leaks soon. That will hold me over these last few weeks.

I don't want to see anything else - just the map. I'm being really careful to avoid spoilers. When I go to gtaforums, I only click on certain threads and I only read posts by members I trust not to post details about the leak.

Like Y2Kev, I've been replying GTA4 over the weekend in anticipation (Up to 'Ruff Riders' mission so far) and it made me remember my frustrations all those years ago from the lack of mid-mission checkpoint. I sincerely hope GTAV comes with it.

Also, I can't drive motorbikes for shit.

Mid-mission checkpoints should be a given since they were added to the DLC episodes.

Motorbikes are pretty bad in vanilla GTAIV, they got much better in the expansions (still a bit too funky, though) still my favorite franchise when it comes to bikes' handling, though.
As for the mid mission checkpoints, they already addressed that issue in Ballad of Gay Tony, and then Red Dead Redemption.. i'd say it's a given.

Ah yes so it was.

I never really had a chance to play the DLCs, I might've to download it at some point on PSN.

If you weren't really a big fan of GTA4 then skip The Lost and Damned and go right to Gay Tony. TLaD is in many ways a continuation of GTA4-style missions while Gay Tony is more in line with something that would've fit in San Andreas.

Just skip TLaD altogether. I loved GTA4 and didnt even get five missions in on TLaD, but absolutely loved TBoGT. And if I want to play online, from now on its via TBoGT.

Is the map bigger in area than just cause 2? Without included the height. I dont care if i can fly 3 miles up.

It looks very small.

It's really big, isn't it 4 times Red Dead? Red Dead was massive. Just Cause 2 has a balls big map, but really boring. It0s still one of the largest, it's the size fof Hong Kong, I think.

I expect the leak anytime now, someone WILL grab the disc from manufacturing, even, but, as tuna, I'm more excited about the map. I feel there are surprises.

No, it isn't bigger than JC2.

But it defiantly will be a lot more detailed and feel A LOT more alive ( if IV and the recent gameplay of V is anything to go by)

There is a lot more to a map than just its size and V, from the looks of it, seems to get the right balance.

But it is still a massive map with a variety of environments.

Why? What's the incentive? To me, it's comparable with trying to get the first comment on a YouTube video. Pointless.

It is pointless. They go for kudos more than anything, and it can get very heated between the release groups when one
releases a game, and another group releases the same game almost straight after the first. The groups put little digs at
each other in their info text files in the releases, and some smaller groups just straight up rename the larger groups releases.

Silly really, but stuff like this happens with any type of piracy. Movies, music, tv shows, all the groups fight amongst themselves.

I'm pretty much going to avoid places like GameFAQs, Reddit and 4chan, and so on. I'd like to avoid being spoiled on the actual story.
Not too bothered about the song lists for the radio stations though.

I agree.

But now double it, R*.

GFAQS is being surprisingly civil, take a look.

It's what I loved about 4; every street felt well placed and thought about. Would be so easy for a developer to jam together a few random locations, but Rockstar made Liberty City feel like a genuine and diverse city.

With that in mind, I cannot wait to explore in 5.

Might stick to what I normally do in open world games though, and only venture out when the story takes me there - world feels much larger that way actually.

Anyone else think that Michael looks exactly like comedian Todd Glass?

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of it either. The back half of the game does start to pick up though. But Gay Tony is just amazing from start to finish. Great mission variety and some fantastic characters.

One thing that I do hope is fixed in GTA5 is the dialog dropping out during cutscenes. I've looked around so I know i'm not the only one the experienced it. But I recently played through 4 and the DLC stories and the dialog would occasionally drop out during cutscenes (although the background audio would still play). I'm guessing that it had something to do with one of their patches since it never happened when I played through GTA4 when it was originally released.

Been playing some TBoGT and man oh man I hope they fix the on-foot controls / steering. Sooooo hard to get Luis pointed in the right direction sometimes.

Trying so hard not to go nuts while waiting. I bought SR IV as a filler, and can barely stand to play more then a few hours. My life will be over when GTA V is in my hands, cannot wait.

Also trying really hard to avoid GTA related boards and comment sections after Sony went full retard. I trust this place for now at least.

Yet with all these Ads why is it still behind 200,000 pre-orders compared to Xbox.

Because there's millions more XBox 360 owners than PS3 owners in the U.S. Perhaps? Oh and that site isn't reliable.

TLAD was great in my opinion much better than 4 as a whole
