Mannnn I'm *this* close to pulling the trigger on downloading DJ MAX Technica Tune.

Any reason that I should/shouldn't? I've never played any game in this series before but it sure looks fun. I guess my biggest worry is that it might go on sale sometime soon since it's fairly expensive.

Maybe if you don't like touching the screen too much since it's touch based this time. They're one of the most fun rhythm games out there since when you hit a beat correctly you "play" a note in the song. If you miss, the note doesn't play and the tune sounds off. So when you perform a section with no mistakes it's very satisfying to hear the tune come out perfectly.

It's so awesome. I've never played a DJ Max game before, but I love it. If you enjoy rhythm games, I would go for it.

YES. I love this aspect.

2 weeks Rayman Legends and Killzone Merc yaaaaaaaaaa!

WOOOO!!! Can't wait! Except it's one week for Rayman and two weeks for KZ!

Well... it can be hard to find a proper/comfortable way to hold the Vita while playing it. You basically need to lay the Vita on a surface in order to tackle the harder challenges, so this may impede the "gaming on the go" part for your Vita somewhat.

Basically the control scheme is what I found most uncomfortable with in DJ Max.

This. There's a demo in the Japanese PSN Store if you have a spare memory card and want to try it out.

Don't do it if you hate fun

Then I guess we're done here. : (

I'm totally fine with touch screen stuff. No issues there.

Cool! I do enjoy a good rhythm game...

Mmmm I see. I would mostly be playing it at home anyway so the controls probably wouldn't be a big issue for me.

My finger is hovering ever closer to "Buy now"...

Been lurking for a bit, but all right GAF; sell me on a Vita. The price drop/Walking Dead bundle is super tempting, as is the terrible internet making console and PC gaming nearly impossible at school, but I'm still not sure.

Read this thread and then search for all the other 'sell me on a Vita' threads, and then just go get one

Is anyone baffled at why Lumines was a $40 retail game but doesn't have a platinum trophy? I guess now it's not as big since it can be had for cheap, but I got it at launch.

That's pretty surprising for a retail game. I think it's hilarious that Walking Dead has a platinum and Stealth Inc only goes to gold. My thumbs.

I like it. See a few YouTube videos, sometimes it's the songs that pull you in too.

iirc it was meant to have a platinum but q games didn't realize you had to actually program one in instead of the vita doing it automatically when you unlock all the other trophies and it never got fixed

What the hell. Fix that shit Q! Getting that avatar trophy killed my hands from rubbing the rear touch pad so much.

I was baffled. Even more so because one of the devs said befor release that it would have a platinum. But come launch...no plat.

Sounds like urban legend - it has a number of trophies similar to standard 10-15$ psn title

Yeah, what I think actually happened is Lumines and Touch my Katamari (another retail launch game that had no platinum) were originally intended to be PSN download games, then got pushed up to retail releases fairly late in the process.

Well the reason I just broke down, being mainly a console gamer is

1) ps4 off screen play
2) there are a lot of games I own that don't feel right playing on a big screen. RPGs being 1 of them, arcade titles being the 2nd.
3) if u find yourself with less than 30 minutes to game often. For a console experience I like to set aside a few hours, if I only have 20 minutes I really can't get into a console game with all the intricacies. Don't have that problem with a handheld
4) the library is growing rapidly. All the games announced at gamescom that are cross-buy and seeing that I'm getting a ps4. Being able to take the games on the road or play, just adds value to the purchase
5) I hate gaming on my iPad cause it doesn't have buttons and I hate virtual joysticks
6) I have playstation plus and my library was 15 games strong before I even bought the console

Listing those reasons made me feel better about my purchase. Got the walking dead bundle myself. Bout to go play some vita now. Been years since I've played symphony of the night. Just didnt look good on my flat screen. On the vita though, it just feels right

P4G is so FUCKING great. Holy SHIT. I've had it since launch, plus Amazon shipping, and I played it right away, but... I'm constantly amazed by just how damn addictive it is. I would never have the time to play this on a home console now. THIS is why I love Vita. THIS is why I'm so looking forward to stuff like Final Fantasy X on it. It's the PERFECT device for my JRPG love, as an adult with a time intensive job and a family life. Ugh. And there's still so much other stuff.

I did order Phantasy Star Online 2, and I added DJMAX Technika Tune on top of that. I have Muramasa, Dragon's Crown, and The Walking Dead sitting in shrinkwrap. Rayman comes out in just over a week, Killzone a little later, Ys in November. All the downloadable stuff. I know there are and were handhelds with more extensive lineups, with great games, but I honestly think Vita is my favorite portable to this point. And I've had them all, down to Atari's Lynx and the Turbo Express, NGPC and WonderSwan. I used to be a multiplatform gamer all the way, but between the PS3 and the PSV - and I know I've said this before in this thread - I don't foresee myself needing anything else ('cept a PS4) for quite a while.

Now where's my copy?

The only way to play DJ Max Technika Tune is by using the back touchpad. While you can use the front touchpad only, the patterns were clearly designed to use both and no accommodation has been made to make the use of only the front comfortable. By cradling the Vita in between the thumb and fingers of the left hand, you can get a hand position that works pretty well, with the left middle finger tapping the back and the right fingers free for the front touch notes.

Exactly my reasons, I picked up the Walking Dead bundle on Thursday. Reasons 1 , 5 and 6 are most applicable to me, I have a ton of iPad games but I rarely enjoy them much. Meanwhile two hours into P4G I'm just in love with the game and playing it on the Vita. Very pleased with the purchase so far, and I haven't even tried half the free Plus games I downloaded yet. Can't wait till ps4 remote play... drool.

Another thing I love - all the PS1 classics I bought but never really played much on PS3 are getting a serious second chance. For whatever reason playing Front Mission 3 (one of my all time favourite RPGs) on Vita is much more appealing to me.

I'm with u bruh! I haven't touched my plus games because of this and all I can think of is what else haven't I played since the 90s

Guerrilla really knows how to nail audio. Mercenaries probably has my favorite developer logo intro ever. Sounds really good with headphones.

I agree. I've played some import ps1 titles, from monkey paw. (I live in Europe, they have import ps1 games on psn). And I got a few ones from ps+.

But I can't really bring myself to buy any 50hz messy pal conversions for the vita :(

edit: except front mission 3, I had to.

I think there's some sort of problem with my NAT on my vita. I can't for the life of me get in a match in Killzone, Dive Kick, and previously I sold Dead or Alive 5 because of the same issue. In comparison, I can get a match in Dive kick and DOA 5 on ps3 no problem.

Also, a few days ago I found out that Hori made a Comfort Grip. I'm a sucker for Hori products, but literally NO stores in the U.S. are selling it. Had to settle for UK amazon, but even there it's on back order. I could pay a little more but hopefully they will get more stock, pretty stupid how this thing seems to be out of stock everywhere besides UK -_-

Well, I bought DoA 5+. Trying to pull the trigger on New Little Kings Story, but I'm hesitant because I've heard that the slowdown is really bad. I can tolerate slowdown, but if it becomes like a slideshow on a regular basis, that's an issue. How bad is it? Any videos of it?

Thought I'd play some Uncharted Golden Abyss out of boredom, and it reminds me how much graphics the Vita can truly pump out. I still can't believe the game can run on the Vita, even if it has a few framerate issues. I still remember when I flipped when I saw that I had to hold the Vita up to my light to show something hidden, that completely blew my mind.

On another note I hope Senran Kagura Burst does well on the 3DS so they can maybe localize the Vita version. I would import the game myself, but after hearing Burst's announcement I'm gonna try to wait it out.

Worst "mini-game" in the game. Can't tell you how many times I've come to that part with no real useable light source in my immediate vicinity.

If Totobeni can handle it, then surely you can too.

Oh crap- i got bad ending in Persona 4G - man this really pissed me off - I had everything under control in dungeons but something didn't click with choices or i missed something and everything went down the drain.

Well looks like I'll be doing risette fan + legend fo Inaba+ all books in one playthrough.

Gamefaqs to the rescue.

But seriously all this true ending stuff is pissing me off in Japanise games - in wRPG at least choices have clear predictable consequences.

Indeed. The same gimmick was achieved in AC 3: Liberation and when it happened, i had no light source near to me and hence i had to quit the game instead -_-

I did it... It's not that hard but It's veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery longo to achieve....
Well... i am almost half done. I don't just complete a level. I get almost everything including the time trial but i skip out on relics. I will get relics once i am done with everything. It is not really hard and i find it a lot of fun.

Good point. Now I'm convinced.

...And it's bought.
You are not alone. I have also brought NLKS. It sounds like my kind of game so couldn't say no to this price.

P.S If anyone still on fence over getting Spelunky, there is a demo out this week for PSV/PS3. You guys can try it out before making the choice to buy it.

Alright, so I'm seriously thinking about getting a PS Vita, but there are many things I don't know about both the system and PS+.

I live in Australia, so this might change the advice. So the price drop, when is it meant to happen, because the price down under is still $350 (supposed to drop straight away I thought)?

Is it possible to buy it from say Amazon and get it shipped here?

Would I be best making a US PSN account for cheaper games/subscriptions?

Can I just buy a US PS+ thing?

So what do I actually get with PS+, is it those few games a month or whatever that I keep as long as I'm subscribed?

Where do I find what games I get with PS+?

What size memory should I go for if I'm going all digital?

I assume I'll have to buy PSN American pre-paid cards to buy from the US store?

Sorry for all the questions, hoping to find out a bit more before I take the plunge.

Spelunky is cross-play between PS3/PSV. Is it co-op game or just share leaderboard?

It does have co-op (4 players!). Didn't know it was crossplay though. I heard vita owners have the luxury of not sharing screens with other players (normally if you play multiplayer, the leader is the center of the screen)

Not sure if amazon will ship it there but there are usually ways if not, including helpful gaffers.

Most aussies i know make a us account for cheaper games, more releases, etc

You can buy a us ps+ on a us account. Not on an au account though.

I can't link to the ps+ thing right now I'm on a phone. But it's quite a bit.

Depends what region you're in but mostly the blog for ps+ game info.

32gb. Plug your nose and get it. It only hurts for a minute.

Yes.
