Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

I think there's some sort of problem with my NAT on my vita. I can't for the life of me get in a match in Killzone, Dive Kick, and previously I sold Dead or Alive 5 because of the same issue. In comparison, I can get a match in Dive kick and DOA 5 on ps3 no problem.

Also, a few days ago I found out that Hori made a Comfort Grip. I'm a sucker for Hori products, but literally NO stores in the U.S. are selling it. Had to settle for UK amazon, but even there it's on back order. I could pay a little more but hopefully they will get more stock, pretty stupid how this thing seems to be out of stock everywhere besides UK -_-

I've had problems with online play on my Vita too. I think I completely fixed it though. A few days ago, I opened up a certain port range ( Port 49167-65535 UDP) for my Vita on my router's settings, and set a static IP address to the VIta (so that port range knows specifically what IP address to have those ports opened up for). Make sure you have NAT type 1 or 2 instead of 3. Ever since I did that, I got into every single KZ match I have tried. Before that it didn't work 95% of the time.

Edit: Here, try following these guidlines. They're the ones I used.

Meh sale this week. How is Tokyo Jungle?

Interesting that they are having a sale for PAX. Wonder if we will get anymore announcements from it. I really wish I could have gone this year.

Darn ... would have been nice to get that one a little sooner, for Legends, then I could play that until Killzone comes out (though I do have the beta, but I'm actually curious about the single player). Now it's getting really crowded again. Oh well.

After playing the demo though, I'm fairly convinced the Vita version is the one to get, unless they update the PS3 version with Move support (or Vita remote play)

There's a demo out for Legends?

Nope. There never was a repeat in offer so far.
That's not entirely accurate. Before they moved to the instant game collection model, there were a few cases where some games were repeated as a bonus (on EU Plus at least). In particular they had a daily Plus game counting down to Christmas during December, and some of them were repeats. These were smaller PSN games though, like emulated 16-bit Sonic.

How many of these are playable on vita?

Shit, is the Guacamelee and Mutant Blobs sale still going? I have another day or two right?

Yes, but you better bite it if you really want have two good games at $10. I don't regret my purchase really. (but still pissed at the goddaamned pre-paid PSN card price because of the stupid dollar rate)

Whew, thanks! I just finished up Mark of the Ninja on XBLA (great game for any 2D fans) and Guaca is next on my list. The PSN sales change on Thursdays with the store updates, correct?

You must be mean Tuesday, but yeah, those two games is pretty good 2D sidescrolling game with attractive art and music. Just can't get the blob out of my head!

I totally wiffed and passed on the Japanese Game Sale.... insane prices but I'm sticking to my guns and going retail for my Vita games... (I have no space issues)

These sales are cool... looks like I'm spending money aside from Spelunky this week.

Sooooo who's buying Killzone Mecernaries at launch here on VitaGAF??

Seriously though, I'd love a decent Vita sale for Europe right now. Past Disgaea 3 going on sale a while back, there's been nothing I've felt interested in buying. Good for my wallet, less good for my consumerist heart.

Being me is suffering.

yeah

KZ:M seems like the poster child for a future permanent first party PS+ game so I'm going to wait on it. In any case AAA games on the vita tend to hit the bomba bin fast enough.

Finally.... i can get Machinarium on a platform that i can actually bother to finish it on.

The next year-long PS+ Vita games should be changing in like October-November, I think. So chances are you'll be waiting until late 2014 at the earliest..

With this kind of attitude, you're not going to get many more AAA games on Vita.

Yeah, not exactly the healthiest attitude to have, especially with regards to the Vita. Very short-sighted.
Oh come on, I bought the vita to enjoy games I like at the price I'm willing to pay for them. There's a lot of people who wait for a $20-$30 price point on things like Uncharted and TLOU before jumping in and I don't see anyone complaining about them. Besides, PS+ by definition gives you less of an incentive to buy retail games when you can potentially play them via subscription.

If it makes you feel better I primarily play JP games and bought Gravity Daze, P4G, Little Busters, and NGS+ for full price at launch. Also a slew of upcoming games I'm going to pick up before the end of the year (Dangan Ronpa Reload, Eiyuu Senki, White Album 2, Sen no Kiseki) at launch because I want to play them right away. Western AAA games just don't happen to fall into that category for me.

Didn't realize LBP Vita was on sale (EU). Is it worth the buy for just the single player levels? I had the original and I'm 50/50 on it

It's absolutely worth it. The best LBP IMO, including the PS3 versions. Also, graphically amazing and although sub-native the game has a good chunck of AA so it looks pretty good.
