That's rich coming from a United supporter. At least Madrid has a fairly healthy buisness going on and not hundreds of millions in debt.

They might overpay for players, but they make it work. Meanwhile enjoy bidding 20 mil on Baines and Fellaini while paying off your debt.

Madrid have an absolutely colossal debt Wooden, please understand. £500m of it, we're only on £300m odd.

Real are more in debt than United.

Hence 'leveraged buyouts'. Manchester United is/was a perfectly sustainable and well run football club. It's the FA and the Premier League that allowed the club to be saddled with hundreds of millions of pounds worth of debt for no good reason.

EDIT: And the only reason Real have a 'healthy' business is because of their fraudulent dealings done with the Madrid government and banks; detailed earlier on in the thread, and the massively skewed TV deals which considerably harms 18 other football clubs in the league.

Summarise that, I am not reading that all.

" So, much of Madrid’s €590 million and Barcelona’s €578 million debt includes liability for what might be termed normal operations. If we apply the same definition to Manchester United, they have debt (total liabilities) of just under €1 billion (£824 million converted at a rate of 1.20). Even Arsenal’s debt on the same basis is €524 million, which the journalists would no doubt describe as “eye-watering” if they were talking about others and not their template for a well-run club. To use an old adage, you have to make sure that you are comparing apples with apples.

Of course, if you wanted to make a club’s debt look as bad as possible, then you would absolutely use the total liabilities definition. However, it is very conservative to say the least. Indeed, in response to their critics, Madrid and Barcelona might feel like misquoting Mark Twain: “The reports of my debt have been greatly exaggerated.”"

Then go look at the figures.

I'll just read it myself.

Insane, he's not in the top ten of the world's best players and I don't think his qualities will gel with Ronaldo's.

He was definitely in the top 10 last season, probably even top 5. If he can keep his level is another question however. Many will remember back when Spurs couldn't win because of him.

I don't even think he'd be that marketable for Madrid. I mean, he's obviously going to sell shirts, but nowhere near the scale that Ronaldo or previous Galácticos have done. I don't think a slightly simian Welshman is going to be selling truck loads of shirts in South America. Either way it's going to be interesting to see how he does.

Let's see your top 10 list then...

A list without him, I haven't watched him play enough to know if he is top 10, but he's not worth the price they paid.
1. Messi
2. Ronaldo
3. Ribery
4. Iniesta
5. Ozil
6. Reus
7. Mata
8. Lewandowski/top strikers
9. Fabregas/Alonso ( I also like Javi Martinez or Schweinsteigger)
10. Lahm/ top defenders

ASI

ASI

ASI GANA EL MADRID

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barcelona and Madrid are ballin' in revenue, this is nothing to them.

Whose ass is that in you avatar? It's always mesmerizing to see.

Anyways I hope Bale flops. It will be grand. One of the stupidest transfers

It just blows my mind, it makes me sick to think he's getting 1.2m a month to kick a ball around when the average salary in this country is £2500. Maybe it's because I don't care about Football, or maybe it's because I'm not completely insane.
Agreed.

It's fucking pathetic, and helps cement the problems with this world.

The absence of Balotelli is inexcusable. So far, he has scored 13 goals in 15 Serie A matches, plus a few assists. He has a 100% penalty-kick record and is fucking badass.

How much is EL's transfer fee?

Here's the punchline: Mesut Ozil is leaving. Bale is great and all, but Mesut -fucking wonderkid - Ozil is leaving.

Isco doesn't hold a candle to him. Sad and pathetic how so many sports fans have short-term memories when it comes to their players.

So not worth it. I only want to see this fail so Madrid get their comeuppance, for Spurs this is great, fuck knows how they pulled it off.

Is he a famous football player? I've never heard of him. Normally even people not into sport would have heard their name if they were that good.

It's scandalous.

Millions of Spanish people don't even have a job, the bank that Real loans from has been supported by the EU otherwise they would have fallen years ago, but it seems everybody in Madrid and the government think it's all good to let Real spend so much money on an overrated player.

Lol at people thinking Bale is not world class. He's proven it the last few years.

Is he worth that much money and those wages? No. But he's still very good and will have an immediate impact for Real.
