GW2 is a shell of an MMO. Not worth it
Oh I'm sorry. I dunno how you do that. That seems to lock on and not have the extra enemy information but I want a way to bring up an enemy's bars and stuff as if I were actually targetting them.

You equip a "Soul Crystal" as an item on your character page for the appropriate class, and you become that job. Jobs have their own minor story progression but are for all intents and purposes just an extension of the class.
Having a job equipped will give you access to increased stats and job exclusive actions, but will severely restrict what you're capable of cross-classing.
Shift+F ?
Exactly what I wanted, thanks. How do I move UI elements around?
In party play it is generally better to play as a job, Warrior or Paladin. Gladiator or Marauder are better for your solo experience. Also, I think you would quite suffer a bit if you don't have Paladin's "Sentinel" skill as a Warrior, although Warrior as a tank job itself is amazing without additional skills. They just make it even better.
It says on the wiki you can only use the Sentinel skill on GLD and PLD. Or is that just Affinity? blah I'm confused now. Also what exactly are you losing when you go MRD-WAR for solo? Its the same thing isn't it? Minus the extra things you get for Warrior.
No, my mistake, Sentinel is now PLD only. Was different in 14-1. Stuff like Provoke, Convalescence or Awareness is still nice to have as a WAR.
Going MAR instead of WAR gives you access to more cross-skills from other classes, which in turn makes you more viable for solo playing if you choose so. To be honest, when jobs where introduced I always stayed on those jobs and rarely used classes again.
But for instance, solo leveling as BLM will leave you in the dust very soon, while solo leveling as a THM is relaxing and rewarding.
Fuck yeahhh lvl50 finally! i look fat in pld AF >_<
gonna do the last story quest later, i got some new skills and i have no idea what they do
i don't know what i'm doing dog.jpg
I finally went down the list of emotes and checked them all out.

Too cute.
Level 8 Arcanist trying to do "Lurkers in the Grotto" which is level 9. Is it impossible? Should I go grind more?
My problem so far is, I'm having trouble finding side missions that give out enough XP to be worth it. For instance, the one missions before this that required you dress from head to toe armor, the belt portion was only level 8. I was level 7, and it took me like 1 hour + of just grinding creatures before I got to level 8 - because none of the side missions around gave more than 50-100XP.

Pictures like that are the reason I want to switch to Paladin (currently a SMN). In every game I make my character model as small as possible so naturally I have a tiny Lalafell.
There is something interesting about a tiny character decked out in a full suit of armor. My Tarutaru Dark Knight in FF XI was hilarious (and awesome).
Yeah, really hating the people yelling at me for taking too long when I take side paths or read everything when it's my first time in a dungeon. crybabies can deal with it, if they don't care about the story they can go back to WoW. If it's my first time in a dungeon I'm going to look at everything.
Where do i buy food? The market board is kind of shit :<
Thanks for the advice guys. Will start looking for FATE's + Chain killing.
By the way, I was able to do the Grotto mission. Was actually pretty easy.

Any input on how summoner is? Is it a viable DPS, fun to play, garbage? I like summon classes the best and would rather go summoner over scholar. Any input ?
Yeah. I had someone like that in my party for Castrum thingimabob at the end of the story. Guy literally said shit like 'If you guys want to masturbate to your anime you can do that after the run. Skip the cutscenes. We're not here for the story.'.
Well, you might want to farm tomestones but it's my first time and three other guys first time too, we want to watch the cutscenes and carry on with the story. If you want to fly ahead without 1 tank and 1 healer then go ahead.
I checked a few pages back but didn't see anyone asking. Is there anywhere I can buy this? I know they took down the digital downloads but it looks like Target and Best Buy are out of stock too.
Should I go Armorer for Dragoon?
I feel like I do a lot of damage in dungeons and solo easy enough since they just load up the mobs with DOTs so their sustained damage seems high (and they are less inhibited by moving than BLM due to this), but SMN is pretty terrible for FATEs since they have very little burst to get enough damage on non-boss mobs before they die. I actually prefer to just stay ACN and use Aero/Emerald carby since that has some strong initial damage for those situations. Things might change after I get my 40 pet, we'll see.
If you think of EQ's Necromancer or WoW's Affliction Warlock playstyle wise you won't be too far off the mark.
for those people trying to get the autohotkey to work. remember that you need to save the notepad text as a .ahk file
- download autohotkey
- open new notepad
- copy paste this text
- save as ffxivspam.ahk
- right click the saved file and hit Run Script
- hit F1 at the FFXIV title screen
the icon will look like this if it's done correctly

I was looking for a character similar to Warlock so rad. Summoner it is! I can still go Scholar later by switching classes correct?

any way to get it to stop if I get in the queue?
I was under the impression it doesn't disconnect you from queue.
Great. I'm stuck in the Bowel Of Embers and can't move forward. Not getting in to the instance because apparently no one needs a tank. And you can't bow out of the quest. Stupid bottle neck.
