Do you think the relatively limited, it is limited, amount of good-great games on the Vita means that developers sell significantly more games on it because of it? When there's only 15-30 games worth playing, for the sake of argument I made up a number, you start buying the next one when your done with the one before it... One part of DC that bothers me is during the intro--the dragon seems to be animated in a weird framerate. Is it the same in the PS3 version?

Random trivia: Marie from P4G and the Elf from DC have the same voice actress.

And Isabeau from SMT IV.

Her voice is the only voice I can stand before the patch since the voices will keep saying the same stuff over and over and over and over and over and over again every time you reenter and exit places.

To be totally fair, they're putting a lot of effort into remaking TWO RPGs of more than a little substance. TWO of them. Not just one. REMEMBER THAT.

I think it speaks volumes about how I feel about Square Enix right now that I am absolutely *stunned* to hear that the Bravely Default we're gonna get is the improved version.

Stunned.

And I am not sure I am the only one feeling that way.

Also, not gonna be surprised in the slightest if the reason for the delay is so that they can create ports for mobile/iOS.

They are standalone games with references and characters from the previous games. No real knowledge of the previous games is needed but personally Totori is my favourite.

Essentially, all you need to know is Rorona is Totori's alchemist master and Totori is Meruru's master. Super cute alchemist outfits are directly caused by Astrid who is Rorona's master.

Those skins are pretty rad.

As said the games are fairly standalone, and Meruru has a video in the extras section that gives you a very quick rundown of the previous Arland stories (Rorona/Totori).

So anyways, my grand plan on collecting FF games in one Vita is overwhelmingly crushed by the fact that US PSN does not have FF1, 2, and 5...... any more than I am missing?

Also, I just learned that the PSN version of various FFs suffer from long loading time... is this true if I play it on the Vita as well? How punishing exactly is the loading issue?

I *think* the Totori true ending is spoiled fairly earlier in Meruru, so if that would bother you you might want to try Totori again.

Framerates problems everywhere. NLKS and J&D. I think Sony is trying to make us feel so desperate that we end throwing the Vita to the wall with anger. And then, when our tears are falling in "dat (broken) OLED", we'll buy another system.

Seems a good strategy to me.

I think the mechanics are broadly the same, although I do seem to remember some differences in getting preferred stats etc on particular item types. I'd need to compare fully to check, but certainly not anything that would get in the way of a casual play.

Totori has the most well regarded story I believe, and (I'm not entirely sure of this...) I've heard that the Japanese version of Meruru+ allowed you to import a Totori+ save to gain some item/costume/weapon or something, so again you might want to finish Totori first

I wouldn't pay that much for something so lacking in content. If you have a ps3 look for the katamari for that as it's a content rich package or the original ps2 games

FF1 & FF2 are listed as Final Fantasy Origins, a PSone game. FFV doesn't work as of right now on the Vita so don't trouble yourself with that. And the psone final fantasies that have relatively longer-than-usual load times are the SNES ports.
