US/CAN Club Nintendo Thread: New and improved. Read the OP.

Sorry to hear about this
I'll help quote this to the top of the page so any one that can help you can see it

Keropon, I'm willing to call NOA for you and pretend to be you to sort this out. Feel free to PM me and we can work out the details.

Has anyone tried to fight with Nintendo to get awarded a survey and coins and essentially the "proof of purchase" on their Club Nintendo account for Wii Shop stuff purchased while in Wii Mode on the Wii U? I bought one of those stupid point cards so I could pick up some stuff but when I realized it won't count on the closest thing we have to an account system, I'm suddenly considering trying to resell the card.

if all you're worried about is security, then you should be fine as long as you know your serial number. write it down!

What? He's talking about wanting to get coins for Wii VC/eShop purchases made on the Wii U. You currently don't get any.

well from his post, it sounded like coins weren't really the issue, but that Club Nintendo is a security blanket for digital software if your console gets stolen or whatever.

Well... It's a little bit of both! I mean, obviously not being able to get the coins is really stupid in itself, but I figure when/if Nintendo ever gets off their collective ass to get us an account system, that the Club Nintendo accounts would play a major role since they're already pivotal in the way they keep track of digital purchases and are helpful for theft/busted system problems too. I imagine if they did that, they'd just be shrugging at purchases made in Wii Mode which is arguably my largest concern.

Of course there's always the option of buying it on a Wii with a linked account and doing the transfer a second, third, or fourth time, but that seems so absolutely hamfisted I pretty much refuse to go through with it on principle alone.

I'm waiting to see what the rewards are this month. If there are good 3DS rewards, I'll bite. Wii U has Wind Waker coming to it soon. :)

Awesome! I'll send you a PM so we can be in contact.

Wow, I had no idea they could make games disappear that were already on your system. That's so creepy! The only good thing about it is if someone steals your system they can possibly take the games away off the original system, which I guess then justifies why they can credit you with the games again on another system.
Yeah! I was so confused when I found out that my game wasn't there... I seriously didn't expect something like that. Also, my SMTIV game now has two biiiiiiiiig demons called ??????? thanks to the DLC not being there. Not cool at all.
At least it confirms to some extent that Nintendo still has full control over our accounts.

Keropon: thaaaat reeeeeally sucks. I can't believe they actually pulled the games directly off your system. :<

have you any idea what you might've said or done to clue them in to your whereabouts?
Nothing. Seriously, I've got nothing. I didn't change any info in my account. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that registered two SMTxFE promos in his system.

Sorry to hear Keropon. I Also use club nintendo, and I live in Brasil. I managed to get points from games that I've bough on the brazilian eShop, just sending emails to NOA.
I used a random adress to confirm that i lived in Canada and it worked and they gave me the points, retroactively.

I would never talk to them on the phone or even Skype though, too risky.

I went through this recently with my 3DS. Long story short, I had my system 'stolen' and so I replaced it and Nintendo hooked me up with my digital games once I had satisfied them that the old one was stolen.

Weeks later and my old system turns up, so now i've got two systems. (It was never stolen, just lost behind a cushion in a way I never thought possible) I turned the old system on and saw that the games were there, but as soon as I accessed the eshop they disappeared.

I called Ninty to let them know that I had recovered the system but they didn't really care much, they said that it was a fresh system I could sell/give away to anyone else and they could link their CN to it.

Wii
150 coins - Zoda's Revenge: Star Tropics II
150 coins - Pilotwings

3DS
150 coins - Art Academy 1st Semester
150 coins - Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again

How is Star Tropic 2? I might jump on Pilotwings this time but feel like I should hold out for the small hope we get a decent physical reward.

In for StarTropics, wondering why Pilotwings is up AGAIN, neutral on the 3DS stuff.

Am I correct in assuming they never offered the original StarTropics on CN?

Is Minis March Again more like March of the Minis (MvsDK2) or Mini-Land Mayhem MvsDK4)?

Because I didn't care much for MotM, but loved MLM.

I've been pretty curious about these Art Academy games, have been thinking a lot about picking up the most recent 3DS one. How is First Semester one? It's not the full DS game, right, just the first half?

Kind of crummy how they call both of the DSiWare games 3DS games. I know they are just catering to the ignorant majority and saying what current system it works on, but some people are going to assume 3DS Mario vs Donkey Kong = Minis on the Move.

I think they do it because that's the only system you can redeem it on.

Kinda tempted to get Pilotwings to upgrade it to the WiiU version, but that's it for me really. Maybe Zoda's Revenge, but I never played StarTropics 1.

Bad month again :/

Okay people... I have kind of a problem with my CN Account and I don't know where else to post this. I trust you guys.

The thing is that I'm not from the US, I'm from Chile. It's not something rare to have a Club Nintendo account and just use your coins for the monthly free digital game and stuff, just taking advantage of a service that should be not only in North America but Central and South America, too. Lately I had something like 1200 coins (gotten by purchasing new games here and my new Nintendo 3DSXL) and two SMTxFE $30 promo codes gotten by me and my sister buying the games (I registered one pair in my own account and another in my sister's linked family account created just for that. She decided to gift me the code thanks to my birthday coming up and I used both on my console).

The problem is that this August 27 I noticed that I couldn't enter my Club Nintendo account since it was locked. Sent an e-mail to customer support and I received this response:

Then, I turned my 3DS on and Cave Story, a game that I bought the 22 of August thanks to my FExSMTIV promo money dissapeared from my main menu. Searching on my account activity in the eShop I found this (I'll link some photos when I get home):

It seems that Nintendo decided that my account was weird or something and pulled the money from one of the SMTxFE promos and the content/games bought with that money. AND also decided to lock down my CN account.

Now, I would call their customer attention number (it's free on Skype) but my situation here as you can see is really complicated. My spoken English is not really THAT good and I don't have a real US address. Not mentioning that the whole "Please have your reference number ready at the time of the call" quote makes me think they will try and call it...

What would you recommend me to do? I really feel like losing a lot with this, and potentially losing my CN account at top of it is... really really bad. Not only games are overpriced here, but sometimes really hard to get by.

Please, what do you think of this? Can anybody shed some light or/and try to help? It would be very, VERY much appreciated.

PS: Sorry for my English, not my natural language so maybe some stuff can be confusing. Feel free to ask me anything.

I'm so sorry to hear about that!
I have made a confusion myself with my CND/US accounts so I must pay attention.
I hope that you can restore your points and stuff. I'm really rooting for you!

Why everything is so harder for us, anyway? We pay more for the hardware, we pay more for the software and we still get chased by NoA. =(

Anyone interested in a Skyward Sword Club Nintendo code? I'm willing to trade for equivalent codes. PM if interested.

I have some questions about the "transfer" you have to do from Wii to WiiU.,....

but it seems so much work just to get pilotwings on WiiU that i just give up before asking!

Really, Nintendo, WiiU games as rewards from club nintendo, please.

It would be nice if they had 1 Wii and 1 Wii U reward, but I guess there isn't enough software on the Wii U to be giving them out for (sorta) free. I mean, what game would they put out as a Wii U reward?

They should at least give the option to choose either the Wii or WiiU version of a VC game, if they both exist (like for Pilotwings). They're both $8 anyways, but the Wii version being the only one sold means the WiiU version costs an unnecessary $1.50 extra.
