I normally go to wikipedia for that. There's usally some info in the collected editions section of the entry for a particular series.

edit:

I've just had a look at the amazon pages for the trades. The information on the issues collected is there in the product description. You just have to click "read more" to reveal it. For volumes 1 and 2 at least. I didn't bother checking the others.

Ah, I didn't think to check wikipedia. When I made my comment I was looking at vol 4. of Sandman since that is what I have read up through.

Read the fourth volume of Chew over the weekend, it's still great stuff. It's so outlandish and bizarre that i have no idea how it'd ever work for TV without losing some of the charm.

Also read the first issue of the punx comix anthology As You Were, which had some decent stories. They were mostly autobio stuff, and some of the art was pretty good. I liked this spread in particular. Wish there were places around here that held house shows, cuz they sound rad

As for pulls, I think i only have the Deadshot and Cyborg Supes issues this week. I should really call my shop to hold those for me

I have such a huge backlog. Didn't buy any comics at all during the month of August. I plan on blowing a good $300+ on comics in the coming weeks. D:

same, I'm not looking forward to what i'll be paying. which probably won't be much compared to that, actually

Volume 6 is scheduled for April 1st, and will collect the Anthology and The Long Road Home.

Nice! Thanks for the info, I'll be looking forward to that.

I feel sad whenever I look at my Locke & Key Colelction, vol.1&5 are hardcover while vol. 2-4 are softcover.

I've only done something like this twice, and they still make me mad. Both happened when I was first getting into comics so I didn't really know what I was doing. I got the first Secret Avengers trade in paperback only to get the rest in hardback (I was too impatient), and then I bought the first Morning Glories Omnibus (collecting trades 1 & 2) followed by volume 3 and then later 4 in paperback. The fact that my collection goes 1, 3, 4 is so upsetting to look at.

ChewGAF, I'm currently reading through vol. 7, Bad Apples, and it's so good. I hadn't realised how much I love this weird little universe. The characters, the art, the food-powers, the background jokes, everything is just brilliant.

Is anyone reading Layman's Detective Comics, with Jason Fabok? I'm curious to know how he writes a Batman comic. I think I'll get the trade when it eventually releases (come on, DC.)

I'm afraid to get into Invincible because I might like it. I would then have to buy all the trades to catch up. >_<

It costs $90.88 to pick up the first 100 issues on Comixology. Which is ridiculously expensive for a comic, but I'm enjoying it a lot after the first 10 issues.

OMGWTFLOL

Every time a new issue of Lazarus comes out, I end up realizing a week later that my comic guy forgot to pull it for me. And I know that it's on my pull-list.

This happens to me constantly at my LCS. Whenever I add a series it takes weeks before he finally remembers to pull it for me, some stuff he still didn't pull for Mr even though I've given him updated lists. Then he still pulls series that I dropped six months ago. Annoying and pretty poor service.

Finished Age of Ultron #1 on MU, now i know what you guys were talking about regarding cap sitting.

Save yourself some money; stop reading AoU now.
If you can't stand by that advice, just skip to the final issue, since that's where all of the in-continuity stuff happens. Everything else is alt-timeline Bendis-wank.

first issue was just put up on Marvel Unlimited, that subscription service, so i'm not in for any addition money to get my Bendis-time.

Ha ha, my comic guy is usually really good. He's just been slipping up on Lazarus for some reason.

Superior Foes

Why is Shocker still a Spider-Man rogue? Peter destroyed a dock to get him, snapped his arm like a dry twig, then used his broken arms to almost kill sandman in the timespan of 5 minutes. Then again, Spock now isn't nearly as menacing as Peter can be,

Meh, Suicide Risk. No thanks.

So I read The Movement 1-4 and... wait, no, lemme do this right. It's villains month and this is a DC book so, ahem. *clears throat*. The Movement is THE BEST SHIT. What were you NERDS saying about it being heavy-handed? Is that nerd-code for the-women-are-in-charge-and-it-makes-me-uncomfortable? Is it scary for you NERDS to read about a young women kicking a tough guy's ass? Is that too ham-fisted for ya? Too on the nose, is it? Get over it and enjoy the comic on it's own terms, you wuss!

Heh. Nah, it was all right. There's something about the art that's hard to take. I think it's the colouring. But, yeah, Gail Simone writes like an angry woman and women kicking the patriarchy in the nuts is my catnip, so there you go. But I didn't see the lesbian angle. One woman gave another her phone number but if that's lesbian behaviour then... well, that would be awesome. But that was the only hint of it I saw and that ain't much.

Also I read Young Avengers #9 and if it isn't the cutest thing? I did not expect to like it as much as I did. How adorable is Hulking? I kinda love him. I'm not sure I'll be able to resist buying the next issue. But, really, wow big props to Gillen, McKelvie and Marvel for the respect they are showing to the Hulking/Wiccan pairing.

And I read Sunstone, too, haha. I'm not proud of myself. I read each chapter kinda side-eyeing the entire time but of course I read it all.

Don't look at me, I've been reading The Movement for a while, now. I'm a fan. But there isn't too much that Simone writes that I'm not a fan of.

Wasn't into the new Red Sonja, though. Didn't really grip me.

But I didn't see the lesbian angle. One woman gave another her phone number but if that's lesbian behaviour then... well, that would be awesome. But that was the only hint of it I saw and that ain't much.

Eh.... It wasn't exclusively lesbian behavior. Rainmaker (who was originally from the old Gen13 books) is a lesbian. Big deal.

Collider surpassed any expectations I had in my heart built up over a year. Incredible book. Long may it reign. And let the other new Vertigo titles be jjust as good. Dan Didio, choose life.

Question: What Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning material after Annihilators is worth reading for Marvel?

I just finished Thanos Rising, and enjoyed it more than I'd expected. What's considered to be the essential Thanos reading list?

I'm reading the current Infinity stuff, and I've wiki'd The Infinity Gauntlet, but that's kind of it.

The Infinity Gauntlet was great fun in my opinion. Also Annihilation. While the book doesn't focus on him it's still an amazing read.

Finished Forever Evil 1 and GL 23.1

Really short not on GL23.1 - Great, the new ideas presented here have the potential to change the GL franchise on a fundamental level. More SciFi, less SciFan. And since the new art crew took over Kyle's suit seems more consistent and better looking than before the "refresh"

Forever Evil 1 -
Mad props for GJ for using Herber Spencer Brown. Lex is used great. And Nightwing will not break the Internet.
The DC heroes and especially the Bat-family have no real life outside of their costumes anyway currently, and most of his supporting cast that could be affected was not included in the reboot. So revealing his identity will either be of little consequence or it will play up things we have not seen in the new52 until now
. Finch is good. The biggest suprise is that Lex has a new business partner and his name is
Kord, Sr. and his son is currently in college - Please be good Ted, please - and give us the Jaime and Ted team-up we deserve someday in the future!
which could lead to a new/old fanfavourite returning. Further
we don't get anything on what happend to the JLs, we start with the Leagues gone and the Watchtower downed in Happy Harbor(!)
, so the setup presented in JL 23 last week works better in context with this issue as it heightens the tension.
The villians have all their distintive voices back and damn, even if I did not like Johns' Wally or Barry very much - he writes the Flash's enemies like noone else. We see everyone, from the big leagues to the small fries in the book and that gives the story an epic scope. We get some nice background info on central charakters like
Ultraman get's hurt by the Sun and sniffs Krypotnite?
and some background on what happened before
It was not Darkseid that destroyed E3 but the Crime Syndicate themselves?
. The Grid is very freightening to me, great new design.

The battle lines are drawn and the fact that from now on it is one month between each chapter is hurting starting this moment.

Way better than the last two issues of Trinity War forever Evil is off to a great start!

Quick impressions of the Grodd book:

The story is not all that different from the Grodd of War one shot from Flashpoint, which isn't necessarily a bad thing at all. The major common theme between them is that
without the Flash around to challenge him, not only is Grodd pretty much unstoppable, but he gets bored quickly and attempts to branch out his domain
.

Grodd is a character the N52 has been particularly kind to. He is still brutal and hyper intelligent, but now has
speed force
abilities to go with his mental powers.

Good stuff and much more interesting than the Reverse Flash nonsense currently running in the main book.

Speaking of Flash, is the N52 book a decent enough start for someone interested in him? I've gotten a bit of an itch since seeing the Flashpoint movie.

The Thanos Quest is a must, although I'm not sure whether you've already included that in the Infinity stuff.

Question: What Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning material after Annihilators is worth reading for Marvel?

Honestly, they had a stint on New Mutants, but I wouldn't highly recommend it.

At that fan expo a couple weeks ago where JLC was announced, James Robinson said he was lauxnhing two Marvel ongoings. I could see him soing Spiderman 2099 with his worldbuilding skills. Send it to Rich.

Yeah you could probably hop on board, safely, starting with the first of the New 52 trades as its self contained like the Wonder Woman books in many respects. Some people may say otherwise but I've been enjoying the book.

Has anything major happened in Superior Spider-Man up until now that I need to know about? I'm jumping on for this Spider-Man 2099 arc and the only previous SSM issue I've read is #1.

nothing major, but definitely a new direction.

Ghost Peter is done for.
Superior Spidey is a major ass-kicker.
Can't juggle Peter-style between friends and responsabilities

Plenty has happened in Superior, it shakes up its status quo every other arc.
