I keep seeing this posted. I would hope it does. I have been really patient with these issues since they told us what was going on, when they were going to fix it, offered free time as compensation and were pretty open about the hows and the why but that patience will wane if the hardware upgrades dont fix the issue.

People seem to forget what the original issue was. Originally there were very few login issues. The issue was that the instance server couldn't handle the requests so people would not be able to complete any instanced story mission or DF groups because it would time out. As a band aid solution they started limiting logins which snowballed into a log jam because people afk. The maintenance they are doing now should fix the instance server problems thus allowing them to lift the login restrictions. Hopefully it gets fixed.

I wasn't really aware of the instance issue, I know the duty finder just flat out stopped working a couple times but yeah, wasn't really aware of that. These issues have been driving me up a wall something fierce; I hope they put in something to deal with all the people who log in just to go AFK for several hours on end.

Should I start to level Arcanist after I reach level 30 as a Conjurer to get White Mage or should I get to a higher level first?

Might as well start once you hit level 30, or you can start it earlier if you like. I didn't even get to level 20 before I got ARC up to level 15. I just wanted to get it out of the way so I can concentrate solely on CNJ.

O_O

Slay a bit with all those lvl 20's. what did you do to level them so quick?

Also which one is your main/fave?

Yeah, my plan is to get those crafting classes to 20, and then run all of the beginner dungeons with my battle classes, I'll probably rotate between them to 25 until I'm really familiar with how to play them in a group.

Basically, the first class to 20 was the beginner story quests + guild quests (Thaum)
then I rolled Gladiator, here I did the guild quests + hunting log + guildhests (you get huge bonuses for doing GH first time)
and third was Pugilist, again with the focus on the guild quests + hunting log + a touch of FATE farming (but not too much) - it took just an afternoon/evening to get each to 20, pretty easy stuff :)

Can't decide on my fav so far, Pugilist is really fast and pretty fun to play, but feels a bit vulnerable, whereas Gladiator has the defense, but conversely feels a bit slow. I like Thaum, but honestly, their all-in-one robes just kill me >;( once I get a nice robe with a crown I'll feel much happier \o/

I read a post a few weeks ago about character appearance reset. Is there an item that will do this? Also, how do you reset your attribute points?

I just cant believe how fast some of you guys are leveling, hell there are lots of lvl50 in full AF with magitek mounts running around, craaaaaazy.

Why does my DRG gear make me look like im in some bdsm biker gang?

AFAIK you get one for 30 day veteran reward. Beyond that I don't know.

Attribute points is an item from the GC vendor. 10k seals IIRC.

Ah the early days, I mean a few days back >.>;

Chocobo companion is a Pro. I have fed points into Attacking Choco, it tanks decently too.
Tanking Choco would have more HP but less damage, so I like the Attacker class more.
Someone was asking how to put your points into your Choco, the best option is to fill up one whole style, you can't reset your points.
If you have some for each style, you will be a plateaued companion, not the best in anything, but not the worst, also you would have to have all those stances hotkeyed for to change up styles.
I did full Attacker, my Digger can tank also, I just heal it. So far it has tanked many of my Hunting log mobs for me, in the process I'm leveling it up and making it better for me
Best friend to have leveling solo from 1-25 for all classes
I think I've used over 100 greens so far, had 3 deaths >_< all from the Cyclops FATE in Coerthas, DAT 100 Tonne Swing @_@!
Most of the time my Choco timer runs out, I have set it up in a way where my food, choco, and protect spell all finish at the same time

Also here's the highest Chain I have ever gotten so far lol
DAT Dark Devices Son!, Blizz II Glory abound, 5 times I came close to death but that Chain had to be kept!

What 2nd class/job would be good for someone that started with Maurder?

I'd say Lancer for something close to Marauder.

If you want to try something different though, I would strongly recommend THM . It is extremely fun. I took it up to 15 for SMN and had a blast.

So I just had a thought. During FC chat earlier we had been talking about how summoner dps was noticeably lower than some of the other classes according to parses. Do we know if the parses are taking into account the summon? I know that was an issue with WoW damage meters for quite a long time (them not including pet damage for hunters and warlocks, which were/are not an insignificant amount of damage). While they obviously don't have the burst, nothing I've seen 40+ makes me feel like they're doing noticeably less damage than me as a dragoon.

What the heck, I only have LNC leveled to 25 and Carpenter up to 13. I still need to start on leveling MRD.

I really want to go hard on my crafting and gathering so I can start making my own stuff to supplement my leveling. I'm leveling Marauder with one of my closest friends, and I'm supplying us with new axes every few levels with BSM. It's amazing.

But my god, gathering is SO DULL. I need to just play a few movies one of these days and just grind Mining as high as I can.

Gladiator. Flash and Provoke will help you a lot.

I'd say Lancer for something close to Marauder.

Cool. Will do. All you need to do is buy the weapon for that class, and you turn into it? That will be pretty annoying keeping up with all your different equipment for different jobs.

Is that part of the main story? I'm 41 and am wondering if I should just FATE grind to get to 45 for that gear or try to get gear from the dungeons between 40-45.

Do it. You get AF as part of your job quests, one at 45 and one at 50.

I believe in an error free future for all of us!

Still, I can see char creation being limited as they point new players to the new servers without any transfers.

How useful are Macros? I haven't used them much and I'm playing Archer.

Will they help me play better and how do they work?

You don't need macros but they make things easier.

I use this one on my Lvl.30 ARCH:

/micon "Bloodletter"
/ac "Misery's End" <t>
/ac "Bloodletter" <t>
/ac "Heavy Shot" <t>

This will only throw out one action on each press; actions higher on the list take priority. Spamming this one key will throw out your two big skills whenever they're up and fill in the blanks with Heavy Shot. The /micon bit puts Bloodletter's CD on the icon as it's the only one I really need to know.

Make sure you disable error messages in chat though or you'll get a flood of crap every time you hit it.

My main rotation right now looks like this:

->Straight Shot
-> Macro Key (Bloodletter)
-> Windbite
-> Venomous Bite
-> Spam Macro Key (Hard Shot) / Straight Shot when I get procs.
-> Macro Key (Misery's End) when available.

Very few things at my level stay alive long enough for Bloodletter to refresh and/or DOTs to run down. If they do, just repeat.

I'm getting Hagia Sophia vibes here...anyone else feel the same?

I tend to take a lot of screenshots, too many pretty locations in this game, it's kinda like XII on steroids...speaking of which, it'd be awesome to explore something akin to the Necrohol of Nabudis in this game.

How did you even fate farm N thanalan on the ps3 version with the amount of people there, must've been some crazy culling

And jeez, reduce the size of the UI, takes up most of the screen

I get by and enjoy the clutter, thanks though

You have to realize I'm playing on a 46"
The UI doesn't bother me, only reason it looks so condensed is due to the screenshot + I lowered the picture

You guys might find Snipping Tool very useful for taking those screencaps of that Lodestone shit or whatever. It's significantly easier than Print Screen, to start with.

It's in the Accessories folder in the Start Bar.

I haven't been this engrossed into an MMO's world and atmosphere since I first started WoW: Burning Crusade.

I've got no responsibilities tonight and could be using this time to catch up on some of my shows or whatever else, but all I can think about is this game. I keep looking up videos on YouTube and reading user posts about it across various websites. I think about my character and what professions
I know they aren't called professions
I should raise.

I haven't felt this way about any game in such a long time.

Are people saying this game is like FFXII because FFXII is like a MMO and this is a MMO?

If they're saying it's like FFXII and not FFXI then it's because there's a lot of similarities in the tone of the story and setting, but it doesn't have a heck of a lot in common with XI.

Kinda wish the lodestone updated faster...I got these cool specks similar to what wymond wears and put that on with another set to match before logging out

Yeah. I fold multiple presses into single macros so I can focus on positioning and the like instead. Monk in particular requires a lot of presses. Macros stops me from keyboard catting it all the time.
