How much health does a lvl 50 tank have generally?

Well PLD can reach 3K, if you look @ Relax Muscle post
I hear WAR has an obscene amount of HP

PLD is more of an AOE stopper tank, WAR is just send them at me lets see how long I can keep this going

So far in dungeons PLD can use the sleep/repulse from the mages to help tank adds/mobs
WAR is the complete opposite, just let them whack away @ me

Things change in end game, PLD become necessary for certain fights, DAT Shield Bash becomes OP, WAR becomes secondary tank/DD class (from what I've heard)

Can't see shit, captain.

When you are going for 150,000 XP, I don't care to see shit, just earn DAT XP!

Here's my DRG :D

Man I freaking love seeing Lalafells. Wish I made one. T_T

Saw this one Lalafell Lancer doing all these tough guy poses and it was just cute as fuck.

Are people saying this game is like FFXII because FFXII is like a MMO and this is a MMO?

I think the aesthetic feel is like FFXII. From the zone lines, to the hunting log, to the overall world design. It of course plays more like a traditional MMO than FFXII.

Can't wait till I get the AF DRG (and eventually WAR) armor for him. Its seriously the best thing ever.

Edit: And in regards to making one, isn't one of the rewards for subbing for a month a free character recustomization? Maybe you can change your character into a superior lalafell!

I saw the connection to Final Fantasy XII almost immediately.

It's kind of a good feeling, it feels sort of comfortable, or familiar.

I don't really see it, especially concerning story. This is like a SNES Final Fantasy, while FFXII was like Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics (meets Star Wars - a better Star Wars sequel before the plot died). This game doesn't have a villain similar to Vayne, Gaius trying to "save" Eorzea (which is legit if people's understanding of the lore from Version 1.0 is correct) sounds too antagonistic versus "put the reigns of history back in the hands of man", the relationship between Cid and Gaius is hardly explored so far (even less than it was in 1.0, where you actually sensed a bit of sadness from Gaius), etc.

I will say there is a moment about halfway through that was pretty unexpectedly dark for a MMO storyline, but they handle it pretty poorly (like you'd expect a MMO to I guess).

As for "feel" are we sure we are not trying to connect the "warm fuzzy feeling we have a hard time explaining as anything more "good" FFXII gives to the one FFXIV gives?

EDIT: I get the feeling when I'm done with the main scenario I will feel Gaius has been underutilized. He has good potential to be a memorable, even sympathetic, villain, judging from his history.

Yeah, my plan is to get those crafting classes to 20, and then run all of the beginner dungeons with my battle classes, I'll probably rotate between them to 25 until I'm really familiar with how to play them in a group.

Basically, the first class to 20 was the beginner story quests + guild quests (Thaum)
then I rolled Gladiator, here I did the guild quests + hunting log + guildhests (you get huge bonuses for doing GH first time)
and third was Pugilist, again with the focus on the guild quests + hunting log + a touch of FATE farming (but not too much) - it took just an afternoon/evening to get each to 20, pretty easy stuff :)

Can't decide on my fav so far, Pugilist is really fast and pretty fun to play, but feels a bit vulnerable, whereas Gladiator has the defense, but conversely feels a bit slow. I like Thaum, but honestly, their all-in-one robes just kill me >;( once I get a nice robe with a crown I'll feel much happier o/

Oh nice :D can't wait to play with you. Yeah Mage cowls are a MESS. Can't wear masks or circlets with them either smh. Can't wait for AF tho

Sigh. I changed GC last night and expecting to have my seals and rank intact, but once I move over to another GC I got to start all the way from Private rank, not to mention the previous seals are "frozen", and can't be used.

When I wanted to change back to my previous GC, the NPC told me that I have to wait 30 DAYS to change, WTF??!!! Now I can't use my main weapon, I wanted to change to the lvl 50 GC weapon and I got this shit. They didn't even explained that we have to wait for 30 freaking DAYS to change back. I mean c'mon, 30 days...really??!!

In any case, looks like I'm gonna use my shitty lvl 41 weapon and try to farm the Ifrit weapon for my character. :(

I am in dire need of new gear from the manor[/QUOTE]

fate Farm for seals in Costa till 33-35, go on spending spree by upgrading ranks and buying some ridiculous gear from the GC

I stopped buying gear, GC gear is better, I'll use a regular piece if the GC doesn't have it (like pants)
Also GC items give you awesome bonuses
Have 2 equipped and gain Skill Speed +7 or Accuracy +7, Determination+, etc.

Sometimes it's worth it to burn those seals
I can roughly earn 10K seals a day easily doing FATEs

Pretty sure the game tells you that changing GCs wipes all your seals in the previous GC.

Speaking of GC gear, why doesn't Twin Adder have a body piece for level 38 WHM/CNJ? They have one for DOW. :(

Why is the cool down for Brutal Swing much longer than Shield Bash, even though it has less potency?

30 seconds for BS and 2.5 second for SB.

Shield Bash is a GCD skill, that's why.

The downside is that is not instant unlike BS. Of course it can be used multiple times in a short span of time.

Is one of the advantages of PLD/GLD over other classes.

Are FATEs a good place to just get gil? Ive been finding myself needing gil at times..

NO

Don't do FATE for gil. Guildhest give a good amount of gil the first time you do them and then you can start selling the random items you get from slashing mobs, like leather, horns or even ingredients.

Yea, I haven't spent any gil on gear. All of mine are from quests, leve chests, GC, or dungeons. I'm mainly behind because I'm trying to catch up to friends in the story, so haven't had much time to grind FATEs.

Yeah I know, I was just wondering because both are tanking classes and both skills do pretty much the same thing with zero cast time, but one has a longer cool down.
