Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

Uhhh guys.... Shoot me if Im wrong but Rayman Legends on the Vita store says it has Wifi co-op......

Ad-Hoc isn't wifi.

I'm really enjoying Machinarium on the Vita, despite it's strange controls. I've owned the game on PC for over a year now, but backlogs.. plus, it's just a bit too simple to play on the PC imo. Great for a portable system like the Vita.

So many Vitabros own Project Diva f! I'm impressed. :o

Not today, sorry. I feel like a terrible person for not being able to make it to any of your games. D:

It's ok I should be getting ready to sleep since I've been out all day and have a early class tomorrow. I'll try again friday.

I'm getting so frustrated. I was really excited for the Challenge mode in Rayman Legends, but the Vita version seems to be the only version where the servers aren't up.

So why would they let you connect through Wi-fi for LAN play when you could just use Ad-Hoc??

Im confused as hell... Why even mention Wi-fi in the first place?

This is what I'm confused about. It makes no sense.

Did Ubisoft ever address the missing invasion levels? I'm getting the Vita version of Legends at some point regardless (though not yet, as I have too many other games I'm getting this month), but I'd like to have some kind of an explanation or all the content.

Just realised I'm prob not going to get my killzone till next week even though i preorder it, i doubt it will come until monday

Because even though I'm on prime whats been happening a lot here in the UK

amazon send some small packages out, particularly games, cds or blurays dvds prime 1st class royal mail with no tracking and ive had 5 parcels turn up later than expected usually by 2 days, basically when the royal mail feel like it.

i complained after the 3 rd item turned up late, they gave me a month free of prime, but then complained politely again last week when my memory card i needed for my tablet in time for bank holiday didn't turn up, ordered Thursday late night, which gave a date of friday next day delivery, but was happy for a Saturday delivery, nope it finally showed up on the tuesday.

I emailed them they said " well its with royal mail no tracking, give it 2 days after your estimated date, if its not turned then we will send a new one"

Makes me wonder why i go prime, and its not this £10 or over thing either as ive bought £35 video games and £12 bluray too and still turned up late

And its happened to my brothers gf too, she was expecting new star trek on mondays release date preordered straight away, showed up tuesday, ok one day late but still.

So just a heads up for the UK peeps, incase you have prime and it doesn't arrive friday don't freak too bad, i gave you a heads up, you may get lucky though

Clearly we need to go retail on this one :(
Well, being FPS game with multiplayer, we can expect any big-size patch in the future.

sure... if the game sold well and Sony didn't just feel like killing Cambridge like how they killed Zipper and Liverpool and left U13 and Wipeout 2048 without post release support.

I preordered KZM on Amazon without prime and it's meant to have free release day delivery. Hopefully it will actually come on Friday.

I've used prime in the past and I've had more trouble with the couriers like Citylink and HDNL rather than Royal Mail. Once Citylink actually lost my parcel in transit and I had to contact customer support for a refund after they couldn't locate it either.

So WipEout 2048 never got that extensive WipEout HD & Fury DLC? I knew I just imagined it. But, if that's the case, then why does my physical copy of 2048 have nearly 1GB of additional data stored on my memory card? Weird. WipEout 2048 clearly never received any DLC, so it must just be a glitch or something.

If you have the PS3 Wipeout and Fury 2048 gets extra tracks right? I haven't played them yet but they're there on my copy.

Yes the Wipeout 2048 DLC exists and is awesome. I still play it on occasion.

On another note... wow. Rayman Legends looks great on the vita screen. I must admit I was skeptical of the art style change pre-release but I really dig the art style now.

Just played those Invasions levels on the Legends demo (Steam).

The two that I played were so fucking great; I can't believe they aren't coming to the Vita version. I know it's not much missing content-wise but it's worth 'raising a stink' about.

I preordered Killzone through the UK store but even though the game is supposed to be out today it says it won't be playable until the 6th?

EDIT: so its out on the 6th... where did I get the 4th from?

It's missing 25% (or 37.5%) of the game, depending on how you do the math. I wouldn't say that's "not much missing content-wise".

I still want an explanation.

PC version is apparently the superior version from where I'm sitting. And it's only $4 more than a digital copy of Legends on Vita.

Speaking of retail/digital, I'm going to ask again:
Any good retail deals on Killzone Mercenary in the US?

Wow, I had no idea there will be that many Invasion levels in the console/PC versions.. yeah, it's definitely a big deal, and I can't (actually I can, given that it's Ubisoft) believe that there hasn't been a word from Ubi on this.

It's missing 25% in levels, and far less a percentage in time, considering the Invaded stages are BY FAR the shortest stages in the game (and using assets from the other levels). That 37.5% is nonsense. Back to Origins is content in the game, whether you like the content or not. Murfy levels are content, whether you like those levels or not.

But yeah, I could see somebody choosing the PC version, as the lack of content is not insubstantial.

Unfortunately I think I will go PC or Wii this time around. As much as I love the Vita I can't justify paying the premium for a portable version if it's missing that much content. $35 on Steam, $66 on PS3, and no doubt Vita will be closer to the PS3 price than not, if not identical.

That person is definitely not me. I know myself well enough that I will not play the game on my PC though, even if I buy it (it will just fall in line behind the rest of the mountain of games I have on steam). Some guys don't get it, but the form factor and system the game is played on does matter.

What are you talking about? the vita version is 40 bucks retail. Possibly 36 on PSN.

I bought the vita version of rayman legends and will buy the steam version during the inevitable sale for the super cheap down the road if the invasion levels never make it to vita. Problem solved + OLED rayman son! lol

Or you could just wait for both to go on sale...

But I get that you may be trying to support the platform, which I applaud.

Novocaine lives in Australia where we have higher prices for Videogames. With that said though the Vita version seems to be $50 in retail here ($52 digitally because logic) which isn't too bad a markup compared to the US version.

Oh okay.

Although I do not get why if you are australian, you would like to subject youself to Australian prices. You can buy US PSN credits online with no additional charge, and the system is region free. Seems to me the price markup on games is not worth it.

Broken PSN store is so funny. I have Rayman 1 five times in my download list as a preorder bonus from Legends. The automatic preload just tried to download it 5 times...smh.
Can't download Legends though.

No, it's not insane.
Back to Origins is recycled content.
I want new content.
If you figure out the number of levels that are not recycled and take the 28 invasion levels off of that, it's 37.5%.
So as far as I'm concerned, the game is missing 37.5% of the NEW content (which is the content I personally care about).
Furthermore, it doesn't matter if the levels are "shortest stages" time wise. If they're actually difficult to master, that's where a large majority of your time could be spent.

So yeah, from my point of view, 37.5% of the NEW material I'm interested in is missing. Furthermore, since I'm not interested in the Murfy levels one bit without being able to control the player characters, that further reduces the content I would find engaging and worthwhile.

Enjoy the game all you want, that's great... but the fact remains, if someone is interested in the bonus "Back to Origins" levels and like the idea of the Murfy touch/tilt extravaganzas, then the game is missing 1/4 of the content that all other versions have. If you're not, the game has significantly less to offer. And the fact that it's $36 isn't an excuse. The game retails for same or less (if you're EU and use the GMG 25% off code) on PC, which is the same or better than the $60 console versions.

If anybody needs a new AC adapter, $2.99 on amazon

I saw that and have it in my cart -- what about the vita <-> USB cable -- can we get one of those cheap somewhere, I wonder?

The funny part is when SE can't even get remake of the game done in 3 years time :(
It's hardly been 1,5 years since they started working on the HD remasters, let alone 3 (it was announced 2 years ago)... They probably don't have a big team working on it yet they are doing quite the substantial upgrade. It's not a new game so I doubt they've got all of SQEX working on it like they did XIV:ARR.

I think it speaks volumes about how I feel about Square Enix right now that I am absolutely *stunned* to hear that the Bravely Default we're gonna get is the improved version.

Stunned.

And I am not sure I am the only one feeling that way.

Also, not gonna be surprised in the slightest if the reason for the delay is so that they can create ports for mobile/iOS.
Well, then you are just ignorant as hell. Square Enix always releases the most content rich versions of games when possible.

I've been following the PSN+ threads on here for a while, and I subscribed a couple of months ago as I have a PS3.

I received my Vita this week and I've been really enjoying Stealth Inc, Sine Mora, Total Recoil and (many) others, so thanks for the opinions and recommendations on here.

If anyone wants a 30-day PSN+ trial, feel free to use code CF67-52NT-GQ6G.

I'm really looking forward to Rogue Legacy, does anyone know when it's coming to Vita? I know it was announced only recently.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that one of the reasons I caved in and bought a Vita was that TxK should be coming out in a few months. If it's anything as good as Space Giraffe I'm going to be a very happy bunny.

I played TxK briefly at PAX this past weekend. If you're a Minter or Temptest fan, you'll be happy.
