I've been playing this game for 6 or 7 hours straight right now and it's the best experience I've ever had playing an MMO.

More enjoyable than all of my time in WoW, although I was never really enjoying playing WoW, I was just grinding because, I don't know why. It actually feels worthwhile to bother with the quests, in this game.

I haven't been just running around slaying random mobs for almost meaningless experience... I've been... playing a game. It doesn't feel like a chore, or a grind, yet.
 
Hmm, just tried SweetFX but my game wouldn't run with 1.4 installed. Trying to force better AA on my 5850.

I'm using SweetFX 1.4 just fine. You have to put it in both directories.

The only problem I've seen is that once you have SweetFX installed, the game will crash if you try to launch it through Steam. It's one or the other, decide which is more important.

I prefer SweetFX.
 
Exploring Limsa Lominsa first time.
Even on my not-very-good laptop it looks so pretty :)

What does everyone use as a push to talk key for mumble, etc? I set mine to DEL because I dont think it does anything in this game. I hope not.
 
I wish I could say today has gone without issue, but after about seven or so hours of play, I've been getting random 90000 errors constantly. Probably something on my end, though.
 
Got gladiator to almost 10. Is that the best time to get another job? Can you mix and match skills from jobs? Do you have to hold on to all the different equipments for jobs too?

Always used left alt. The game has a shortcut to /say when you press alt+s, you can unbind it. Was confused why my chat box kept popping up in instances before i noticed it.
 
Got in first try!

Now they just need to give NA players their veteran rewards early and I will be good with everything.
 
I picked up a lvl 24 Aetherial Wrapped Elm Longbow from a treasure box while doing a grand company levequest LOL

First time I've even seen a rare weapon after 5 dungeon runs.

How much should this sell for on the market? (Kinda missing the auction house right now)

Shard don't automatically drop a ton like they did in 1.0 so their value is a bit higher now. you can make some good money off wind shards because they're one of the most used types in this.
 
Logged in, had to wait in 13 person que, but got in quickly.

Anyhow, do the dolls and pets do anything? I know they aren't used for combat, but I find it hard to believe that they do absolutely nothing.

I've never seen them doing anything... come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen them in battlefields. So likely not, unfortunately.

For some reason though, when I used the item to get a pet (from early access)... nothing happened :(
 
Really close to grabbing this game but I remembered that my PC is ass. How is this game on PS3? I'm mainly concerned about controlling the character.

Only fault with it so far, for me, is absolutely no AA, or it seems like it. If that doesn't bother you its a pretty solid client.
 
Jesus just had a terrible party at Cutter's,
1 DPS wasn't doing any damage, the other insisted on trying to sleep all the adds on the first boss(more come if you don't finish them fast)
and the Healer would only use Medica.

It becomes a learned skill, just open your skill menu and click the Pets(?) tab. Might be called Minions, I can't remember.
 
Lulz. what an awful party for Castrum Meridianum. Both tanks fighting over threat on the bosses, neither picking up adds. DPS pulling bosses, DPS skipping cut scenes and pulling and wiping the entire party. When I complained about it I was told to "go watch the fucking cut scene at the Inn and to wake up". I quit WoW because I felt the "community" was garbage. I dont think it was just WoW.
 
I couldn't resist. I just placed an order for the "Before Meteor: FINAL FANTASY XIV Original Soundtrack" from CDJapan. They still have two First Press copies remaining with the Wind-Up Dalamud minion and shipping was only around $12 EMS to Canada.

The Square-Enix website seems to have more in-stock, but it's hard to say whether it's the First Press edition or not. Plus you'll have to deal with Digital River, although I did manage to receive my Collector's Edition from them perfectly fine.

I'll import the OST from 2.0, as well, once it's released. Yeah, you might say I'm addicted to this game, so much so that I need to listen to the music on-the-go.

By the way, while this is a Blu-ray disc you're still able to download the songs to MP3 format. It's one of the features that the disc offers which is nice considering how many of us would like to put the songs on our phone/MP3 players/etc. for when we're not at home [or don't want to use a Blu-ray player to listen to the music].

To do so, simply:

- insert the disc in a PS3
- press Square to open the menu
- go to Extra's and choose the Download MP3 option

It'll give you an IP Address that you can enter on your PC to download the songs! Now that is a useful feature.
