Well that a nice change of pace. I logged in instantly with no issues, played for a few hours, and then logged out. I even managed to [finally] get my Chocobo, which I promptly named "Kweh".

I'm a bit worried about the 3102 error showing its face when I attempt to log in again tonight, but let's hope that doesn't happen...

How come? Is it something server-side?

The more populated area the more people which means more graphics, physics and etc. need for the CPU / GPU to render. Once, I have seen my 2600KGHz & SLI Titans @ 1440p dropped to low 20s fps during a FATE with shit loads of people (30-40).

Not only 1.x characters, it is actually only on ones that got far enough in the story. My sister's 1.x character doesn't have the mark, for example, because she never did the story line in 1.x.
The back tattoo? I never beat the story in 1.x but I have it, I'm not even legacy

Maybe this is hyperbole but I think this is the best MMO there has been in quite some time. It feels like there is lots to do and I'm really enjoying my time, like once I stop I look forward to playing again.

Fast duty finder as DPS? Crap, maybe I will go back to leveling up for Dragoon. Or go ahead and roll with Paladin then switch, whichever.

Hmm, did you do grand company stuff? I have heard people saying they don't have the mark. I need to check on my alt (who didn't do story quests) but I was too scared to log out of my main until now after this update, heh.

I agree, this is probably the first MMO I've played that has yet to feel like a grind to me, it feels like there is always rewarding progression regardless of how you decide to level up whether it be fates, dungeons, or just regular quests.

Anyone fancy doing Sastasha in a couple of hours? :) Friend me ingame if ya do; Lisie Valtaire

I'll join you assuming login issues don't suddenly start happening in the next couple hours. Name is Dineren Nreroc in game, I'll add you whenever I get off work.

Got into Ultros my first try just now. What is this @_@

Hearing this after two weeks of bullshit is just...

Is it easy to play this game if I have never played a Final Fantasy MMO before? The only other MMO experience I have is with WoW but it has been a couple years since I've touched that. Kinda want to get back into a MMO again

Im kind of bored of the game already, just got to level 13.

The story quests are nice, graphics are nice, music is good, but most of the quests are just boring.

Almost makes me want to stand in the dunes and grind like in ffxi.

You haven't even gone into a dungeon yet...?

Most of the fun starts when you start doing dungeons, which are level 15 story quests. I would say check those out before you think about quitting.

I see people with pets or companions, how does one get one?

You also get a chocobo companion at a level 30 quest.

After WOW, every MMOs are mostly the same. So, yeah, you won't have any problems.

approaching 7 days later, still no update on my ticket. I've done 2 rounds of chat today, both ending in no agent available after ~2 hour queue for each time I tried. The extra game time added for nothing since I still can't play my main account. I'm pretty close to just giving up on this game/company. I wonder if Amazon would be cool enough to refund me if I explain my situation.

I could really use a performance guide. I'm running an Nvidia 760, and while the game runs perfectly fine most of the time, I get those weird framerate drops depending on how the camera is angled. It seems to occur whenever I have an Aethercyte crystal in front of me, or looking at some of the tall trees in the Shroud, and so on. I get perfect 60 fps in dungeons and a few FATEs as well, but there are these odd moments here and there where the framerate just dips.

I'm wondering if it's a shadow or lighting setting, or something else I could try adjusting.

I have a 760 and get that as well.

If I port into Uldah and look up, boom, framerate drop for a few seconds.

For those who ran Sunken Temple:

Teratotaur's Doom. Can it be interrupted by Shield Swipe? I read about Pacification being able to counter its effect

Was just about to register an alt on Faerie to play with a friend who can't play on Hyperion cause new character restrictions haven't been lifted... but now Faerie is full up 20 minutes after my friend made the character there. So frustrating.

It might work but why bother, it's not like the doom thing is hard. Only tricky part is killing the bees quickly enough.

Smashed through the first 3 dungeons today as a Gladiator and all the groups were ace. The second one we had to 3 man as the healer dropped and we never got a replacement so I guess one of the other guys was leveling an alt class as he had decent healing and damage. Took 10 mins longer than it would have but still was a breeze. Second boss of the third dungeon was more interesting than all the rest put together but was still really easy... I think the two dps were incredibly bored.

So 3 dungeons, 3 cool groups, 0 problems. Ish.

I haven't been hooked into an MMO like this since WoW way back when it came out. I don't know whether to be happy or not!
