"I don't want anything bad to happen to the United States," Chappelle said ... "but if North Korea ever drops a nuclear bomb on this country, I swear to God I hope it lands in Hartford, Connecticut."

Hecklers being scum? What shock

Dave being overly emotional? What a surprise. Not sure why everyone is defending Dave though...comedians get heat from hecklers. Part of the industry.
It shouldn't be. And he shouldn't get shit on because he doesn't want to go tit for tat with a crowd of assholes.

It's an interesting stigma we have in this country, where being a sensitive person is considered a negative thing, especially if you're a guy.

I don't consider it negative. A lot of people just don't think a sensitive disposition is complementary to a career in stand-up comedy is all.

There is a huge difference between being sensitive and overly sensitive.

I guess so. But where does one draw the line? Is it overly sensitive to walk away from a group of people who continuously heckle you and prevent you from doing your job no matter what you say or do to stop it? Maybe it's overly sensitive in the context of a comedy show. Perhaps it's the context that makes the difference. If this happened to someone in a typical office setting where they're being harassed by co-workers, it would be looked at a bit differently I'd imagine.

Yeah, that makes sense. But when does it go too far?

Saw him in Michigan on Sunday. Great set. Don't think he said that exact line there, but it was very "fuck Hartford"

Some people probably see it more like being harassed by your customers. They paid their cover fees, so they consider your ass bought. Chapelle met the obligations of his contract, so that's really good enough.

It's the establishment's fault that they couldn't deal with some hecklers so that the show could go on.

Hmmm, yeah, that definitely seems plausible.

Agreed. Those people should be escorted out so that everyone else who paid money to be there can enjoy the show.

You can take my word for it.

I saw him here in Michigan last Sunday and he gave the crowd nothing but love.

The media is blowing this shit way out of proportion.

He said he wouldn't go to get gas in Hartford.

He isn't kidding. When Hurricane Sandy shitted on the North East, we tried to get gas there...we were pulled over inside the gas station by two psychotic cops who cursed us out for 10 minutes non stop and threatened to take us to jail.

We were literally doing nothing but just about to start pumping some gas...I recorded the whole thing on my phone and filed a complaint with the sheriff of the town who interviewed myself and everyone in the car.

Hartford, CT is a shit hole of a town full of racist scum.

Also, what he was saying he said at the Laugh Factory years ago.

Dave Chappelle is lashing out about the people who heckled him in Hartford, CT last week ... calling the crowd a bunch of "young, white alcoholics" and saying he wanted to pull a "reverse Kramer."

I'm sure these comments will harm Chapelle's career as much as Michael Richards........

you're totally right man. it's exactly the same situation.

II wish the world wasn't so biased towards giving black people a free pass to do whatever they want.

Moze couldn't be here today, but he asked me to post this in his stead -

"Told you guys Chappelle just isn't as good as some make him out to be."

As a CT resident, I'm ashamed that those probable Patriots fans tarnished Dave's image of Connecticut.

If he came Southwest he would've enjoyed our crowd....more similar to New Yorkers. I know the exact type of crowd he most likely dealt with.

Yeah, but it shouldn't be and they have every right to be pissed. They're trying to perform a show and some asshole, who doesn't have the guts to get on stage and perform himself, wants to destroy for no reason other than attention.

It's fucking stupid and Chapelle has every right to get pissed.

Hecklers fucking suck. I'm no comedian but i've experienced a milder form of it during my lectures and it really messes with your flow. Can't even imagine what it must be like for comedians.

That said, Bill Burr handles hecklers perfectly lol

Yeah because "white alcoholics" is the same as "You can talk, you can talk, you're brave now motherfucker. Throw his ass out. He's a nigger! He's a nigger! He's a nigger! A nigger, look, there's a nigger!"

I don't understand why he doesn't book better venues. I know a few clubs that just don't tolerate that shit. You heckle you just get kicked the fuck out.

Plenty of spots would die to see Chappelle perform live and would have no problem dealing with hecklers to get Dave on stage.
