Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

On other news, I really hope Sony has been monitoring Kickstarter... I hope they get the following released on Vita/PS4

-Ghost Song
-Project Phoenix
-Shantae
-Mighty No. 9

Last 2 seem unlikely -- Mighty No. 9 wanted 250k to even put it on PSN/XBL/WiiU... I don't know if they have a stretch goal for Vita/3DS.

Shantae? Wayforward seems to want nothing to do with the Vita after SH:BoM. :\

Has the Metal Gear Solid HD collection ever been part of PS Plus (or at least discounted) in the US? They are fine on the Vita right? Did the PSP game get updated to 'HD' as well on Vita?

Last blitz of sales actually.

Yes, they are fine.

No to the PSP game.

Also, many people are getting crazy over Killzone Mercenary reviews, huh. I personally find it to be rather mind-blowing.

Makes me sad but I sure hope Shovel Knight will come to the Vita!

Hoping for Velocity Ultra to get added to PS+ soonish!

I really can't decide if I want to wait for the Vita Warriors games to come stateside or import them from Japan.

Has TecmoKoei announced they'll be localizing the Vita versions of those Musou games or are we assuming that they'll probably bring it over?

Anyone have any updates on Toukiden too? Still waiting on that.

Please god no. You don't want it, trust me.
I thought the Jak II port was at least serviceable? It was 1 and 3 that had a lot of problems.

I would gladly take free portable Jak II. The collection isn't cross buy in US for some dumb reason though, so even if the collection did come over to US PS+ the Vita version would still cost money. :/

1 is the one that turned out the best. Still not good...but okay. 2 and 3 are bad, though 3 turned out worse than 2.

Looks like Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD will run well on Vita via CFW remote play, if the Japanese version videos are anything to go by.

I just need Birth By Sleep on vita. Even just PSP version would be fine. The rest can go kick rocks

Crisis Core would be swell as well.

Unfortunately, both have different kinds of issues. With Birth By Sleep it's with Disney (they want to control where and how their games are released and for some reason BBS and KH HD 1.5 ReMix on PSN and DDD on eShop are not what they want) and with Crisis Core it seems to be the licensing with that Japanese dude (Gackt?).

I'm still really sad we didn't get a native Vita version of 1.5. There's a handheld fanbase they catered to for years post-KH2 and it feels very odd to leave out a collection that is recapping the series in the leadup to three. Note: Sorry if a mod's reading this and it comes off as port begging, this was not at all my intention.

I'll have to give it a try if I ever mod my PS3 if it runs well. I've always wanted to play the original on a portable.
I really hope Sony pays for Hexadrive to fix R&C:FFA Vita...

Imagine all the fun we could have had on VitaGAF
Oh god yes, Hexadrive and BluePoint games are the best at doing that type of stuff.

Doesn't seem like those two will ever be happening given Disneys weird anti-digital stance on retail releases and that liscencing issue with one song that was rumored to be holding Crisis Core from a digital release. It's a shame though, I'd love to give Crisis Core a try on my Vita.

They made The 3rd Birthday too. Such an underrated game it really shines on the Vita, especially since you can map the camera to the right analog.

But... they butcher Aya so bad in that game...... :(

As a side note, I want to increase my PSP in Vita collection but... some of the prices..... Ace Combat Joint Assault is 39.99? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT.

I mean, they're not exactly new games....

well i think killzones awesome, but thats just me.

also i love there environments this time, much more variety than 2 and 3.

I have the box edition for PSP with the artbook and stuff. If I remember correctly, my game case is still sealed in plastic, or I opened it up once to look at the manual. Have yet to play it.

Might get round to it one day...

Well......

and for Mighty No. 9

Another message we have gotten loud and clear: A portable version of Mighty No. 9 is something many of you are excited about — and believe us, we would love to see it happen as well. Potential 3DS and/or Vita versions of the game are something we’ve been discussing since the earliest stages of this project, as handhelds are something our developers have plenty of experience with. Unfortunately, that experience tells us that these things cost money — however, the road to making them a possibility is relatively straightforward: If we continue to see more and more fans asking for portable versions of Mighty No. 9, and if we’re able to set and achieve stretch goals that would justify the cost, we would be thrilled to make this happen. In the meantime, we’ll continue watching for more feedback and start working up more detailed budgets just in case, so please continue to let us know how much of a priority this is for you. Thanks!

Got my first Vita platinum. Thanks Rayman Origins, it was fun!

Congratz Vitabro!

Jak 1 is playable, but hasn't aged so well. Camera controls and respawn point are dumb. I don't understand why Sony hasn't done anything and simply release those shitty games (i'm looking at you too FFA).

Just take out that stupid song and give us the game. They don't put it on PSN because they don't want to. It's as easy as changing the song from that dude.

A "Did You Know" for the day. The early Vita units, like the ones that looked like a PSP Go, actually used SD Cards.

I just hope that the next model have both propietary and SD cards. Thinking they are going to let you donwload games is stupid, but if they let me save there media stuff it'll be enough.

He might be more of a problem in Japan, almost certain Gackt also voiced that... uhh.. forgot-his-name-poet-asshole-villain-dude?

And lol, they don't want to? When they have most of their other PSP games available digitally, why would they ignore what was one of their most successful ones (& a Final Fantasy game to boot)? There might be some legal issues there that make it more difficult than we can possibly know with our limited knowledge.

I didn't know that guy dubbed... Genesis? If it's true then i found it less stupid. But they could just release in EU / US PSN. Those japanese bastards (joking) have Type-0 and we don't. It won't be the first game that isn't released in every region.

Now that all the hue and cry got ubisoft's attention for the invasion levels.

Do you think it is possible that they makes another patch for murphy levels for both the options. Touch with auto platforming & Like on PS3 (Murphy on a button)

Sounds like an Idea. Where can I go bother them?

I'm almost sad that the PS4 doesn't partially incorporate the original Xbox One plans for online disk activation for no-disk installed play.

I'm assuming that when it comes to remote play you're going to have to choose between either buying digital copies of games (and being able to play any of all of your installed games at any given time), or buying physical copies (which can only be played one at a time, whichever is inserted). :(

If the retail prices weren't so ridiculous, that would be less of a problem. I don't mind losing the ability to trade in, but not when I'm paying more (significantly more in many cases) than the retail version in the first place.

I tend to stick to a single game at a time, so that's less of an issue for me anyway.

Crisis Core would be swell as well.

Birth by Sleep is one of my favourite PSP games, I was disappointed to learn it didn't work on Vita. Oh well, will have to keep rocking the 3000 :)

Why is it a problem ?
You get stuff you want to keep for all eternity digitally and rest as discs.

Just put 4 hours into Meruru. The Ateliers just feel so good as portable games.

Atelier games are feel good in general. :)

I bought Meruru, Corpse Party, Corpse Party Book of Shadows, Ys Seven yesterday. None of which I'm going to play that soon. Well, I think I'll play Atelier next.

Also, I haven't been using Vita for a while, since I finally got around to playing Fire Emblem. One learns to really appreciate Vita's screen and form factor only after not using it for a while. Wow, what a difference.

As an anal physical collector I try to buy only physical whenever possible (to the point where I skipped recent sales like $3 versions in case I wanted a physical copy later instead). I'd much rather get physical to keep for eternity, anything digital-exclusive digital.

But if I end up getting a PS4 solely for its ability to remote play on the Vita it's going to be very painful to not go digital for the ability to play any game at any time; through the Vita. Especially if wifi-play pans out. Maybe I'll get one and it'll be my remote-play machine I only get PS+ games for.

One more day until Killzone!

The bubble is sitting there, taunting me.

i wish that the download list on the vita didn't include the PS3 stuff you own.
It's a bit annoying having to scroll though all that "cannot download using a PS Vita system"

Agreed. At least give us a tab to separate 'em at the top or something. My download list is absolutely humongous and it takes forever to scroll through.

Does anybody know if you can play Killzone online with an US-Account, if you buy the german version?
(edit: german version = the german game on a card...not from german PSN)

Two doubts, VitaGAF. I've been looking for buying a hardcase and a dualshock alike handle for my Vita. Do you know if these are good?

The starter kit seems I linked seems good, but it's for 24 euros. On the other hand, I've only go out with the Vita one time, and I was sooo afraid it could get damaged while it was in my pocket.

Having a handle will be nice because i mostly play my Vita in bed. The other day I was hooked with GR and, after playing for like two hours, my thumb hurt a little.

Has there been any update on the waiver of Unity license fees on the Vita/PS4?

I really hope Sony gets that done sooner so it's even more indie friendly :/
