Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

For those asking about meruru's resolution... well i don't know lol, but totori was native res with AA and meruru's screenshots look the same.

Two doubts, VitaGAF. I've been looking for buying a hardcase and a dualshock alike handle for my Vita. Do you know if these are good?

The starter kit seems I linked seems good, but it's for 24 euros. On the other hand, I've only go out with the Vita one time, and I was sooo afraid it could get damaged while it was in my pocket.

Having a handle will be nice because i mostly play my Vita in bed. The other day I was hooked with GR and, after playing for like two hours, my thumb hurt a little.

Bumped my questions because they were at the bottom of the page. Sorry if it's not allowed, but I seriously need a quick answer :)

Does anybody know if you can play Killzone online with an US-Account, if you buy the german version?
(edit: german version = the german game on a card...not from german PSN)

Patches dont work either though, so I'd advise against it. Or have there been any changes about that?

Wow, really? That's going to be a huge problem for any online MP game.

Yep, thats the reason I stuck with digital only in the first place for my US account in Germany. No clue whether they changed it since apparently no one seems to know/care about it here when the other dude asked, but a few months ago, that was still the case.

MP would probably simply not work if its not the most recent version.

Ah good, so they changed it now apparently. Good to know, thanks. I can finally buy EU retail games, which means I might not need to bog down my Vita with another 4,5gb download. Handy.

I use the PDP trigger grips which I think work really well. Can play as long as I want without issues.

And I use the thrustmaster VIP case if I take it out the house. Very snug fit and never worry about damage

It seems like a tank. I feel i will be safe with it. In Xtralife.es it's for 25 euros, so I'll buy it there although I found it cheaper in Fnac (Trustmaster Spain says it's available there. But my FNAC Vita shelve is very small.

I will buy the handle later, but I marked in favorites your recommendations. Thanks!

Your welcome. That case seems really strong to me and actually does fit in my jeans pocket....... looks a bit silly when I do though haha.

Oh I asked in the KZ:M thread but I will ask here as well. When does KZ:M unlock in the UK? will it be midnight?

Does anyone have any suggestions for reducing the glare on the Vita screen? Hadn't bothered me before, but I just started Sly and I pretty much can't see a thing when I play at work during lunch.

Bwahaha... it's true. Not Vita related, but my first was InFAMOUS. :lol

I think I'll do Limbo next... it's not too long, right?
So true! Assassin's Creed 2 was my very first Plat, and last AC.
On other news, I really hope Sony has been monitoring Kickstarter... I hope they get the following released on Vita/PS4

-Ghost Song
-Project Phoenix
-Shantae
-Mighty No. 9
Well......

From the Shantae Kickstarter thread

and for Mighty No. 9

I was looking at Ghost Song during my KS search yesterday, I would LOVE it if that game came to Vita. Looks very slick indeed, like a proper homage to Super Metroid for other consoles, except y'know, not Nintendo. I've heard solid things about the Shantae games, and the videos I rememebr fromwhen they first came out really blew me away with the animation. The idea of new versions could be a visual treat. The possibility of Mighty Number 9 being on Vita is something of legends!!! We NEEED this game! Every console deserves to have this spiritual successor to Mega Man! Vitamuffins! Let's make it happen!!!
I'd like to mention that I bought those Vita analog stick extenders/covers a while back, and they're awesome. They snap on tightly. No complaints (it seems like there is a new version here... not quite sure).

Ofc, you can just throw away the dpad covers.
The "enhanced" set are the ones I have. I love them, so much. I am using the Xbox360 like ones, the set with a concave design. They really add some great extra play in the sticks, it almost changes the whole feel of the Vita. Dpad covers were laughed at, then indeed tossed. Just a shame you have to order 2 sets of the things to get matching sticks...

Best thing I do is try to find a place that gives most shade (duh). If you are playing in your car, park in a way that extends the shadow over the inside of the car the most. I sometimes have trouble with it also on my lunch breaks. I work in a large building, so my meal area is a mad house, and people have bugged me senseless about what I am playing, or doing, or what what have you, so I have resigned to the car for my gaming needs. Sadly, you can only do so much, and on those super clear, super sunny, super beautiful days, I tend to stick to bright and colorful games like Hot Shots, touch My Katamari, etc. Makes things easier.

Found out some new Spelunky tech last night...

it involves whipping a shop keeping as you're falling, then immediately jumping again and landing on his head which makes him drop his gun. then you pick up the shopkeeper and throw him up in the air to extend his hit-stun, then picking up his shotgun and blasting him.

it's like my whip method from before but when done correctly costs no health loss. I've done it a few times now. still trying to perfect it

Does anyone know why some games don't let me turn the brightness up all the way? The slider stops at about 80%...

And they really need to make your memory card's free space much easier to see. On the PSP, it's right there on the icon. On the Vita, a system that makes use of memory cards so much more, you have to dig through a few settings menus?

that's every game

i figure it has to do with the screens being tested at that higher brightness. I think they'd either get too hot or wear out faster. Either way, that has been like that since day one

System has a total power budget that can be used for gaming so if game is very pushing it will direct more power to soc and cut down max brightness to 80%.

They also used to turn off wi-fi but thankfully it was patched away.

Looking at the cross button deal you linked, i've seen something interesting.

If you buy a Vita in Amazon you get 12 months of PS+ and 10$ PSN credit. I'm a junior so i cannot make new threads, but it's a quite interesting offer. It's until 9/7.

Here is the console deal.

A little off the subject, but the expression on Totori's face when she uses the Duplicate skill is pretty funny.

One more day until Killzone!

The bubble is sitting there, taunting me.

Agreed. At least give us a tab to separate 'em at the top or something. My download list is absolutely humongous and it takes forever to scroll through.

I hate you with love.

Next Tuesday cannot come fast enough! (*< *)

I posted this yesterday but I waited until they added product information because I thought it may be a used Vita. Its not.
So now again.
PsVita(Wifi) + Killzone Mercenary(digital) + 8Gb Mem Card = 169€
http://www.redcoon.de/B486941-Sony-Computer-Entertainment-PS-Vita-Konsole-WiFi_Konsolen

Since an 8Gb Mem Card is 20€ and Killzone Mercenary is 35€ normally, you practically get the Vita for 114€

Is this threadworthy? Or only offerings from international retailers?

To people who have had the system a long time: how are the analog sticks holding up? I've had mine for about three weeks, and the left stick is starting to feel a little loose.

That's one aspect of handhelds that sucks. They are the controller, so if the controller goes bad, the whole system goes bad. You can't just drop $30 for a new controller...

i'm coming up on a year and the sticks seem fine.

sometimes i think one of the sticks is slightly loose and other times i think it's jsut normal - i honestly can't tell, but it doesnt affect my playing at all.
