How do you even level gatherers efficiently? I have a vague idea of leveling crafters (turning in HQ crafted stuff for the best XP) so would you turn in HQ gathered materials or what.
Leves and XP books from Grand Companies.

Got Miner to 50 finally.
I'M CARRYING A FUCKING LANTERN!
Fuck you elitist pig!Maybe I should've waited until I got home to post that, I saw someone post something about it a couple pages back and I had to get in there. Anyway, personally I didint mean the tone of my message to sound elitist. It's just common opinion that all your skills should be keybinded, if only because its a lot faster than mousing over to click a skill in the middle of a fight. Some people do it and that's fine, if it works for you with no troubles, even better, but you should definitely try to bind your abilities. I saw a few posts about some people not being able to reach past 6 on their keys. That's where modifiers come in. Re-map those keys from 6 and onwards to crtl or alt or shift. This lets you use 1 through 6 3 times, depending on the modifier used. It's much faster than clicking, and again if clicking works/is better for you, cool. I certainly won't rage at anyone who does it lol, but key binding is definitely better. I uses to click too.
Now keyboard turners... That's a different story, but that argument is only relevant for PvP I think.
Anyway, apologies.

Lol this game will be more laid back since there isn't pvp yet. Once pvp hits that's when macros and key binds will be a big thing. Based on what I've seen even keyboard turners could be ok in ff14. Not ideal but ok.
3 i think.
Seriously? I've heard different. The fieldcraft leves don't seem to work like that. Some of them give you a ranking based on the quality and quantity of materials you pull up, and you get a bonus based on how you did. I haven't seen any that have huge bonuses for turning in HQ materials.
Simply put, turning via your mouse [holding right-click] is a lot faster.I don't get this keyboard turner thing. What's wrong with keyboard steering and what's the preferred alternative.
That being said, I have nothing against "keyboard turners" or people that click. If you can play your class well, and stay alive [avoid those read areas of death!], that's all that matters to me.

In the heat of a fight like a Boss or a PVP battle, using the keyboard to tuner is usually a far slower option than swinging the mouse. So if someone couldn't target a tank fast enough to heal or if they couldn't turn around quick enough to stun something, it could be disasterous for the group. if the game is designed slow, then eh, it's not a big deal but the faster the game, the faster your reactions have to be.
Some people are really skillful at games even with control schemes the majority find "weird." No reason to judge people because they play differently, as long as they make it work for themselves.
Mind sharing your custom settings file? This game looks insane on PC. This is with a combination of a whole shitload of SweetFX tweaks, SMAA (fuck that FXAA bullshit, turn that shit off!), and downsampling from 3840x2160.
I just failed the Brayflox's Longstop dungeon (as a level 33 White Mage healer) ... what a horrible experience that run was.
Either the incoming damage is really high in there, or the tank did not move out of the area effects in time. But I just could not keep the tank alive, even continuous Cure II spam was not enough.
We wiped on thrash groups and bosses ... and it was somehow always my fault. I tried to explain that there is just too much damage. But they kind of ignored that argument, and I had to apologize the whole time.
I had no problems with healing in Haukke Manor ... Soooo is there considerably more damage in Brayflox's Longstop? Or did the tank just eat all avoidable damage?

You still playing Tortanic?
Nope. Left when it went f2p
There isn't much avoidable damage in the mobs. What little there is isn't really much of an issue. Really the only thing that a tank needs to *really* avoid is the final boss's dragon breath. But even then they can eat a couple and be fine.

Hmmm ... tank kind of instantly died from the final boss's dragon breath, or was near death.

Been out of town for a week and coming back tomorrow. Have the login issues been resolved yet?
More or less.Been out of town for a week and coming back tomorrow. Have the login issues been resolved yet?
Trying to get into instances as DPS is goddamn horrible. Who thought it'd be a good idea to gate the story with instance quests?
No different from Tera, but without nerfs to make them soloable.
That's definitely gear then.
Also, never forget Esuna as it can be a life saver.

Ya dragon breath does about 700-800 dmg to me. I'm at 2400 max hp.
You might have a bit of issues logging in during prime-time, but more often than not it's a lot easier. Even if the servers are full the queues seem to work a lot better than they used to. Even in the evening I had to wait maybe...one minute before I got in. It's a lot better.Been out of town for a week and coming back tomorrow. Have the login issues been resolved yet?

I stopped playing MH3U since June, but I'm thinking of importing MH4... that might be trouble, though. It's best I wait for a localization.
I fucking love these HD towns. They are so beautiful.

Basically focus on the gathering/crafting class that will benefit your class. Beyond that, do whatever.
As long as they're not getting hit by attacks that's fine.
But hell even with mouse turn i find it really hard to avoid attacks in this game due to the server latency. I don't see how a keyboard turner could do it.
It's faster turning, also your turn and strafe keys are the same keys depending on if you have the mouse button held downIs keyboard turning when you use D or A to turn your character? I use my keyboard for all movement, but I just hit the strafe key to get out of AoEs. Why would using the mouse be a benefit?
