No need to apologize just lower the price by $100.
That isn't nearly enough. Not even close.

Holy shit.
Virus or not, you guys take this way too seriously.
They jumped in to dethrone Sony.
Yep. They had plenty of money to get there console out there and buy up studios like Rareware and Bungie (which at the time, Halo was coming to Mac).
The discussions on GAF will be a lot less volatile in a year or two.
It'll be a lot less about Console Warz and more about the individual games.
Hmm. Quite a lot of Juniors popping up lately. Paging Bish?
I mean I'm sure there's a crazy influx of new members since the new consoles are hyping up everyone...but the vast majority of posts crazy positive about the Xbone are juniors. Not saying that immediately makes someone suspect...but it is...suspect, lol.

*looks*
oh what a surprise, you joined 6-7-2013. Do you have a reason why this "Microsoft CRITICISM" is unwarranted?
They must have really broke your heart. That isn't nearly enough. Not even close.
Hmmm, I think that's threadworthy honestly. Two MS people calling out the power difference between PS4 and XB1 despite the data behind it? Either they know something we don't, or they don't know anything.
As a primarily Xbox 360/PC player who, shockingly enough, didn't actually have many problems with the pre-180 box in the first place, (though I certainly understand why so many do) I think this is the right step for MS when it comes to rebuilding their image. People and companies are allowed to make mistakes, and Microsoft's policy reversal plus at least an attempt to reconnect with the consumer is, again, a step in the right direction. Look at Sony 2006 vs Sony 2013; mistakes are made, things change.
They're all corporations, all of whom are in this market with the sole interest of maximizing profits. If the discussion is about console wars then it's wrong.
It should be about how Microsoft was basically giving the middle finger to most people. And people responded by completely dropping the system from their minds and not spending a dime on it.
This is the only reason we're getting an apology. Because gamers, as a collective, said "No thanks, Microsoft. We're done being screwed over."
This isn't about PS4 vs XBox One. This is about a corporation trying its hardest to take away the rights of its consumers and saying it's the best thing since sliced bread.
And now Bungie has joined the Sony camp and Rare is stuck making Kinect games.
I didn't trust microsoft as a company when they started the xbox back in 2001. But the Xbox group back then was run by passionate gamers and I learned to appreciate what they brought. But the Xbox one and it's earlier policies showed me I was a bit right. They got greedy and thought they could boss around their own fans/customers. Guess they got that reality check huh.

They're both corporations, both in the interest of maximizing profits.
Yes. I do. It's just harder to find those people, because the PS4 is better in so many areas.Sheesh, talk about persecution complex. Do people ever do that to juniors who are pro-PS4?
You could say some of their decisions with their games haven't been so smart either. People at Double Helix have said the whole F2P-esque thing going on with Killer Instinct was Microsoft's idea.
Sheesh, talk about persecution complex. Do people ever do that to juniors who are pro-PS4?
I completely agree. The difference is that Microsoft did it in the worst way possible. Which lead to the, very deserved, backlash.
If Sony had done the same thing, you would have seen the same level of hatred.
The worst part about this thread is that there is no "apology tour."
MS is doing what it can to rehab its image at the major gaming events of the season, and a hack author at the Huff Po has characterized it as an "apology tour."
This whole thread is the product of GAF's eagerness to pile-on to its most disfavored sons, combined with a disinclination/disability to actually read the source material.

And what's wrong with the idea that's going on with Killer Instinct? Do you not like free content? They could have just sold the game for $20, but instead they give everyone Jago for free, letting people play through the game, and earn some achievements before deciding if they want to purchase more characters..
We did see that hatred Pre-PS3, get a second job sorta thing.
It's absolutely hilarious, but it also makes me want to cry.
To everybody here calling out people being harsh towards Microsoft, you have to understand this, even if it's gonna come off entitled. Until I get some justice from Rare, which was my whole reason I was in the Xbox camp for a while, I won't lose any bitterness towards Microsoft.
This post I agree with almost entirely (including the fact I was a primarily Xbox 360/PC player last-gen), except I did have a major problem with the box pre-180.
As I said earlier, change has to start somewhere. I believe Microsoft is showing they can change faster than Sony did back in 2006, and I think they deserve some degree of credit for that. That doesn't mean I'm running out to get an XBO (not until it's $299.99 I think), and it doesn't mean I don't view actions taken in the near future from Microsoft in a cynical fashion. But it does mean I can say "well, let's see where this takes us. Open mind."
I'm relatively new to GAF, but how long will this continue? Where every peice of MS news is spun negatively?
Exactly. And PS3 sales were extremely soft thanks to it. In this case, XB1 sales were horrific.
they need to cut the paywall bullshit and spit out games really fast.
that's it.
Holy shit.
Virus or not, you guys take this way too seriously.
It's hard to climb out once you dig yourself a hole this deep. As people have been saying, Sony had the same problem early this gen.I'm relatively new to GAF, but how long will this continue? Where every peice of MS news is spun negatively?
"I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm getting a PS4 and not an Xbox," said Jeff Lane, a gamer from Reno, Nev., who paid $100 for VIP access to the GameStop Expo. "I know Microsoft has changed course on a lot of their unfounded policies since they announced the Xbox One, but what's to stop them from just implementing them next year after the console is out?"
Me too. I miss the early days of the 360. I'd be playing UNO with buddies from school, just having a good time. We'd then hop over to Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 and have no worries. The days of LIVE being an unmatched service seem to be over.

I really, really would have just preferred a full price game with 25-30 characters. and a longer development cycle. The fact Microsoft is pushing Killer Instinct out so soon is worrisome. They only started work on it late last year.
Speaking of Larry Hyrb, it seems he took to Reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/com...ello_there_is_no_way_were_giving_up_a/cc2nezu) to post that he agrees with Albert Penello about the Xbone's power vs. PS4. The thread Albert originally posted his comment in has been locked, but Albert basically said that the PS4 is not 30% more powerful than Xbone.
So Hyrb writes this:
Two things: I love that he and Mr. Penello keep repeating this mantra about how smart their programmers are. As though Sony employed a bunch of drooling morons who grabbed parts off shelves and hot glued them together when they came up with the PS4.
And that second sentence I bolded--could it be pointing to the rumored reveal of a discreet second GPU later this month when AMD reveals their next line of hardware? Personally, I don't believe the rumor, but I can't think of anything else he may have been referring to (other than posting another of those laughable comparison charts on his website like he did at the start of this gen).
Thoughts?
I'm sure this has been posted elsewhere, but I couldn't find a thread. Mock if old.
Sheesh, talk about persecution complex. Do people ever do that to juniors who are pro-PS4?

Their 'apology' is akin to the cheater apologizing to his wife after he gets caught in the act.
Fuck off, MS. I was never a console fanboy but I am now, you turned me into one.
PS4 4 lyfe breh.
What preorder numbers? Its sold out everywhere.
Gamestop Expo was fun. Unfortunately I missed this presentation.
After all that's happened, I can't believe people actually think this.
