• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

GTA V has gone gold.

Nice, can't wait for it. Although I thought I saw the OT a few days ago already.

Since I'm fairly new here, how does one get picked to do OT's?

Do you know what would be really fucked?? If later on this week Rockstar came out and said, "Well, it looks like there are a couple tiny bugs still in the finished build so we're going to have to push the game back to October 29th. Sorry, guys."

Please don't say things like that. I'd... I wouldn't know what to do with my life if that happened. 9 daysssss!

Aside from the fact that there are literally warehouses full of copies waiting to be shipped and "tiny bugs" can be ironed out with a day-1 patch, sure.

The game has gone gold, so any bugs that appear now would be patched later. It would cost too much to recall all the printed discs.

So in this article it is confirmed that GTA V map is roughly 49 sq miles.

In real life it would be like this:

it almost 2.5 times San Andreas

I can't believe that one week from now I could be sat here playing this(a tad early). Please shopto order turn up on Saturday morning!

There are a lot of conflicting lists on the internet concerning radio stations. Does anyone know which list is 100% genuine?

Really interesting Sam Houser interview with The Sunday Times, via Eurogamer

Some tidbits;

On the perennial controversy and Rockstar being lambasted by US governors and finding themselves facing severe charges in court.;

"Life ground to a halt," Houser said in his most candid engagement of the saga to date. "It's just vote-winning, and they don't care if they ruin your life, because these people are thinking on a macro level. If there's a little bit of collateral damage, it doesn't matter, does it?" Eliot Spitzer, one of the governors most vocal in opposition to GTA and in particular its inclusion of prostitute characters, was himself involved in a prostitution scandal in 2008. "The hypocrisy is so funny, you can't make it up," said Houser.

About the process of creating a GTA game;

We've all seen Hearts of Darkness," , in reference to the documentary that shows the torturous conditions in which Apocalypse Now was made. "We're definitely in that realm of excitement and misery at the same time. It's not supposed to be easy. Each time, we push everything to its limit. I don't think it's conscious, but it's sort of how it has to be. It has to hurt more. You want to find Kurtz every time."

I'm still conflicted about the fact that I enjoy Rockstar games so much, and yet know that the working conditions of the devs are probably terrible on each title. Reading Houser's latest interviews, I doubt GTA5 was any different.

From what I gather, it's pretty much endemic within AAA games development.

EDIT: Also, the working conditions of the people who build your games consoles are a hell of a lot worse. Same with your clothes.

WTF! Cities? The overexcited kid in me wants to believe, despite all evidence to the contrary over the last 2 years. Would be just like R* to drop some kind of totally unexpected bombshell like this.

Don't read too much into it.

I personally read another answer, to the same question, that basically said that there weren't other cities, just small towns/villages.

Come on.

COME ON.

Rockstar can't be serious. We need to take that comment with a HUGE grain of salt. Who writes these replies? Unless it's Sam or Dan or Leslie I'm inclined to think it's being taken INCREDIBLY out of context. Right?

O_O

Don't trifle with my fragile emotions Rockstar! It's been five years!

Damn I would really like to read that full interview :(. Damn you Sunday Times!

Gee, I wonder where you can read what he said without the need of a paywall.

Massive news. I'd make this into a thread, but I'M STILL A JUNIOR AFTER A YEAR OF BEING HERE AND I'M STILL UNABLE TO MAKE A THREAD! [:(]: Sam Houser has given his first interview in three years to the UK's Sunday Times.

Original source is here, but because it's behind a paywall, I summed up Sam's quotes here.

Oh...

(It's not a full-blown interview, by the way, it's a feature article)

Probably on the gta forums but I am afraid to travel across the world wide web because spoilers

also : persuit ? Who wrote that.

I had an inkling from the very first trailer 2 years ago that we'd be getting the whole state of San Andreas. If not on disc that maybe through DLC.

please assure me this is not fake
