Well i haven't seen anybody predict anything that would come off as western.


Anyways I think the key phrases are "the news we've been waiting for and something unexpected". The news former is certainly the launch date, but the latter?

I'm not saying people are claiming the news will be Western focused. I'm saying people are thinking about things like TLG, that would be big news for everyone, including the west, and I don't think that's necessarily the way to read this. As for the news, if the first is the launch date, the second could be that the launch date is much earlier than expected. Just my thoughts.

If it were an insider hinting 'news we've been waiting for' then yeah, I'd conclude TLG, but this is just Sony PR, they're hyping the obvious.

1. A Japanese release date would need to be backed by software that appeals to a Japanese audience.

2. Why would the western Playtation blogs be streaming the conference (with translations) if a region specific release date is the only noteworthy news?

3. Doesn't the fact they have a reveal conference, plus another conference at TGS, suggest they have a **** ton of stuff to show? I can't exactly see them showing off the like of Killzone: SF to excite a Japanese audience.
