Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

Walking Dead is the easiest plat ever. Just play the game then poof, instant plat.

What annoys me is that MH4 has online play, as did MH3 and MH Tri. But none of the PSP ones did. What is it about the PSP that Capcom hated enough to never give the PSP versions multiplayer?

IIRC, Capcom's first games for the Vita were UMvC3 and SFxT, but I don't think those games did well which may have casued Capcom to not publish on the Vita.

Fug mang, i love all things aviation.
I listen to my local intl ariport (KORD) departure/arrival/ground freq every time I drive to work or college.

I'd love it if there was a ATC game for the Vita.

Awesome! Love the ATC streams. Big airports, regional ones, whatever I can get my hands and ears on. Just so damn fascinating.

You're aware of Towercab, right? Sure, PC, but just another ATC game to check out. And offers more than TRACON view, so...that's a plus for the romantics.

vitabros, should I get a Wii U? (weird I ask this here.. but hey you guys are family <3)

Depends.

I've got MH3U (most WiiU time), Mario U, ZombiU, Lego City, Batman Armored edition, (had) NintendoLand and Pikmin 3....hunted down great Wii games like Xenoblade and Goldeneye. I'm getting Wonderful 101, Lego Marvel, Zelda WWHD, Mario 3D World and DK - but honestly don't know why, I barely touch the damn system...

I prefer 3DS and Vita. I build up a U library in hopes it helps the system stay around (support). If X, Smash or MK8 weren't coming next year, I'd have turned mine in.

Do I need to play Atelier Totori before Meruru? From what I read Meruru sounds a lot better (storywise) than Totori.

If you're like me, no... absolutely NOT.

I've heard Meruru spoils the true ending of Totori... so take that into account.

That's going to sell millions. #prayforvita

sigh. can you imagine that?
instead of Kratos pulling out the heads of the various Gods he kills in GoW, he unleashes violence upon the monsters of MH.

Sony oh Sony :/

Characters that don't really fit in a franchise that I don't care about? Oh noes.

Only console versions have had online in the past (ps2 and wii).
MH4 is the first time the handheld version gets native online (3ds).

The PSP versions could use ad hoc party to play online though.

I didn't have any expectations for Uncharted GA and yet I still feel underwhelmed by it. :/
Asides from some of the gimmicky features, nothing is particularly bad about it. There's just nothing standing out to me as being particularly good either.

On the flipside, I'm in total awe of Gravity Rush. I knew absolutely nothing about the game until I downloaded it and now I can't stop playing it.
I really like the art style and the soundtrack. Just floating around the city is pretty cool too, it reminds me of web swinging in Spiderman 2.

The only thing I regret about buying a WiiU is buying one in March. If I had waited until July-August then I could have gotten one cheaper and I would have had more to play on it.
Now that there's some worthwhile games out and more coming over the next few months, go for it.
TW101 is excellent.

I thiiink this is everything!

Games that got a physical release in the US, but not Europe:

- The Walking Dead
- Muramasa Rebirth
- MLB 13 The Show
- MLB 12 The Show
- Ragnarok Odyssey
- DJMAX Technika Tune
- Supremacy MMA
- Madden NFL 13
- Angry Birds Star Wars (upcoming)

Games that got a physical release in Europe, but not the US:

- Epic Mickey 2
- New Little King's Story
- Moto GP 13
- History: Legends of War
- MUD FIM Motocross World Championship
- Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge / Wallabies Rugby Challenge (Australian version) / All Blacks Rugby Challenge (New Zealand version)
- WRC 3 - FIA World Rally Championship
- WRC 4 (upcoming)
- Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (upcoming)
Great, thanks for the list :) I didnt know that The Walking Dead Vita got a retail release. Are there any plans on bringing this to Europe?

SCEA published in NA. In Europe it already came out on PSN published by Telltale, so I doubt it will go retail there.
Yeah Walking Dead is a bigger phenomenom in the US anyway. This, along with the bundle, was te first positive step SCEA has taken in promoting the Vita.

No.

As it stands now, those are Capcom's only Vita games
currently available
.

It's not as though Capcom bet on Vita in the first place. There was absolutely no reason Resident Evil: Revelations couldn't have been a 3DS/PSV release, but now Vita is the only platform without Revelations ...

vitabros, should I get a Wii U? (weird I ask this here.. but hey you guys are family <3)

I have a Wii U and a Vita. It may sound like an exaggeration but I play my Vita 100x more than the Wii U. The myth that Vita has no games should have been dispelled a year ago. You got great original titles like Gravity Rush, my favourite Vita game, Soul Sacrifice, Persona 4 Golden and the upcoming games Killzone Mercenary and Tearaway. Not only that but some of the multiplatform games on Vita are in my eyes the only way to play. I'm enjoying Hotline Miami and Spelunky way more on Vita than their original platforms.

With the recent price drop and the great Plus offering I have to fully recommend a Vita.

MH4 Direct just showcased Mario and Luigi... and now Link.

Sony... imagine the cameo you could have done if you paid enough for MH4
(Kratos in MH showing those monsters who's boss would be MEGATON)
This is amazing. My Monster Hunter machine is ready. I don't play anything else on it. Release is here in a few weeks, right? In JP anyway D:

Back to on Vita, just dl'ed Sine Moria demo. I really don't know why I passed on it for so long from looking at those screenshots in the store. Shmups are bullet hells are my bag. Now I just need to start, then finish my portion of driving, so I can relax the rest of the way home with the Vita, Sine Moria, and hopefully rekindling a lost love known as Soul Sac.

MGS x MH is a much better match than Mario. Honestly, I'm tired of Nintendo forcing their IPs into games that don't fit that aesthetic at all.

I dunno, the Link outfit looks pretty great to me.

Just wish I didn't have to play it on the worst system for MH..

wow, that list really chaps my ass. Why the hell is Europe getting a DBZ Battle of Z retail release and not the US? I hate digital distribution and would rather import it from Europe but why the fuck did they do this? Makes no sense. Is DBZ bigger over there or something?

Am i the only one who can't suffer anymore nintendo's "collaborations"?

Nope. Patches are region free. The only part that is region locked are dlcs or anything to do with the psn store. Only those require their respective regional accounts.

Tell that to my unpatched imported dragon's crown....

Later i'll control again if it updates.

No, the Tekken Tag 2 stuff made me puke. I cringed at Yoshi in MGS3 (Ape Escape is better) and the Dynasty Warriors costumes were terribad.

Namco Bandai EU wants to release it physically. Namco Bandai US does not.

If anything, I'm more surprised that Nintendo will let their mascots likeness into games about the semi-bloody killing of Monsters. I actually find it kinda pleasant to see a Link-a-like fighting something a bit darker in presentation.

Nintendo not fitting an aesthetic? I dunno... Monster Hunter and Tekken are both games that have strong "Asian-style comedy" personalities. You can throw just about anything into either of the games, and it comes off as elements that mesh with their own well-established comedic silliness.

Picotto Knights will be shutting down on October 31... before the game was even released in the west. Disappointing.

:( Awww, I still want to play this. Maybe they'll release some kinda actual disk-based / full downloadable game based off it? That wouldn't be a bad trade

Same, although here's hoping it even makes it trip here eventually. Really .. REALLY getting annoyed with the whole JPN industry's candid outlook of localization.

I mean how hard is it to say 'Oh it's coming, expect it within a year after the jpn release' or 'no plans, fuck off Gaijin!'.

We had such a great time in the late 90's on PS1, when it stopped being so much of a question whether games would be localized here or not. I'm just gonna blame the current reluctance on the last decade of "Japanese gamez sux LOL" editorial bullshit.

probably not. I'm at a loss what Sony IP is big in Japan.
but hey Sackboy as a costume for the Felyne may work..? idk

heck. they could easily give me any of the Legend of Dragoon weapons/armorsets in a Vita MH, I would buy it twice

If anything it would be Toro and Kuro costumes for the Felynes. But it's probably best to not think about what might have been. Capcom and Sony apparently have a strained relationship.

Question: if I've purchased a PSOne game on the PS3 PSN, and I have installed it on my PS3, how would I then transfer said game to a PS Vita? Im standing in front of the PS Vita display here at best buy right now and am about to buy one, but I want to be sure I can transfer my purchases over even though ive already installed the games on the ps3.

I understand some games are not compatable an have already found a list of them.

Also, in order to transfer the psone games over from ps3 to vita, do I have to have the same psn id attarched to the vita? I really dont want to use my pa3 username on vita. Id love to be able to sign up for a new account then transfer the games over. And then attatch ps+ to that username (and i will also eventually use it with ps4.)

Any help is appreciated! Wasnt able to decipher this answer from te great info already here.

I don't know if they've changed it recently, but you can transfer your PS1 games to your Vita as long as they aren't installed yet on the PS3, aka still in bubble form.

You need the initial download file which is the bubble that installs the game to the PS3 to get it on the vita. You copy that bubble to psp/vita.

I haven't tested but I'm fairly positive you need the same psn id.

To add to that, you just download the game again to get them in bubble form if the game you have is not available directly on Vita but has to go the PS3->Vita route.

Yup. You must use the same PSN account on both PS3 and Vita.

Most games you can just download from the PSN store directly, some need to be transfered from the PS3 using the content manager app on the Vita. I'm afraid the Vita needs to use the same PSN account as the game was purchased on though.

Nowadays, when a PSOne game is installed on PS3 it usually leaves the install bubble on the XMB until deleted. If you don't have any of those, and they were already installed, you'll have to redownload them either on the Vita itself, or on the PS3 to transfer. You just hook it up with the USB cable that connects the Vita to the charger.

If you have wifi internet, it's fastest to just download on the Vita.

Also, what BlackLagoon said. If you gameshared a bunch of PSOne games from someone else's account, you're out of luck with those specific games.

Thanks so much for the info! Im gonna get the Walking Dead bundle :)

Also sucks that I have to use the same PSN ID. I'm kicking myself for buying so many digital games under my current username. Still no possibility to change username eh? Shit I'd even pay to do it. I've done that TWICE on 360.

Well, we do know they're changing things for the PS4, since you'll be able to use your real name if you want, but how that will transfer over to the Vita is anybody's guess.

Enjoying my time with KickBeat. What a perfect game for the Vita.

Working through Hard at the moment. I tend to hate playing the lower difficulties cause I'm the type of person that wants to jump head first into the crazy shit but Hard feels good. Easy enough to get through but not boring.

So far, the songs are great. Found a few I wouldn't mind putting on my iPod.

Some of those trophies are gonna take some work but I'm down for the challenge :p

If there is ever a KickBeat 2, you already have my money. Great rhythm game and I hope to see more on the Vita!

Im also annoyed you cant change usernames on PSN...but Im glad you'll be able to use your real name on PS4. Wish this was mandatory for everything though. Would probably drastically cut back on all the hate talk that anonymity brings with it.

I couldn't agree more. MG x MH is infinitely cooler. I only knew of the bug N being in Tekken, and I do have to say it looks like that would be fun for a little, then I could see myself never playing it again. I didn't know about any of those other games. I tried the demo for MGS3ds, and gave it a solid shot since I am a sucker for 3d. But comparing that to the Vita version, there was no way I could justify not getting the glorious HD versions, 3d or no. I would not want to see Yoshi in my MG, in any way. Plus, MGS is at home on a Sony device.
Speaing of 1cc'ing stuff... I want a port of Hard Corps Uprising with all DLC.
I would love to see this happen, such fun game. A portable Contra Hard Corps on Vita would be such a delight to see. ASW already has a good Vita lineup, they need to keep it going!
