Has there been any mention by the devs about adding a right-click ignore?
Since Ultros is closed off, I had to make a character on another server to be able to play with some friends that decided to get the game and I've been forced to switch the shout channel to Off.
Adding people to the blacklist every time you zone into a city isn't fun, it's pretty damn annoying, especially because this game doesn't have an anti-spam system in place it seems so the damned Goldseller spam the shout channel non-stop! Even grabbing their names to add them to the blacklist is difficult at times.

They are upgrading the chat window functionality.

We don't know when, I guess right click blacklisting among others things will be added.

I am playing on PS3 now as the laptop I was using is no longer available.

When I am at the Mog Station page it says "you have no available characters" but my service history shows that I had an account in 1.0.

Huh, that's strange. Not really sure what it could be, then.

seriously

The dynamic weather is so cool. The way the wind blows not only trees and shrubs but also the feathers on your Chocobo and your robes is damn good.

Has there been any indication as to when they might start selling copies again? I was convinced to play earlier today but I am unable to purchase anything and get started. Got some serious "Cartmanland" syndrome going on here. The more I can't play it, the more I want to!

My FC is about to hit Allied Standing with Ul'dah. Once that happens, should we switch it to another nation, or will our standing with Ul'dah get wiped (doesn't seem likely, since it shows 3 progress bars)?

Got pugilist to level 20 on Siren and I have to say, the class quests for pugs have the most funny story so far. The level 20 one, after the classic fetch quest part, oh shit, awesome!

So what are people doing to make their TAB targeting not suck?

I don't really want anything too complicated. I just want TAB to target the nearest enemy first and I can't get it to do that. It always ends up cycling through ones that are completely out of range. In FATES for example there will be a group of 4-5 enemies and TAB will ignore them in favor of ones way in the back.

The reason Tab cycling doesn't work great in Fates is because the game will always try to give you an untagged target first. If the mob directly in front of you is tagged (purple), the game will skip it if it can.

System -> Keybind -> Targeting Tab -> Scroll down about half-way until you see "Target Nearest Enemy". Add a keybind for "Shift+Tab" or something.

This will disable the priority system used during normal Tab cycling and force the game into targeting based solely on distance.

Alternatively, you can use a skill that's awesome in Fates -- but less so in dungeons -- to create a auto-target & tag macro:

Code:
/targetenemy
/facetarget
/micon "Quick Nock"
/ac "Quick Nock" <t>

This grabs the nearest enemy, points me in their direction, and dumps an AOE cone attack. I open my rotation with it any time I need a new target during a Fate.

I think the FC is completely filled. Pretty sure a lot of Gaffers (you and me included) would want in but can't.

Yeah, I was Sixtigers on FFXI GAF. (and Six Tigers in 1.0, but I quit fast because damn that was an awful game) Can't wait until those guys cull and recruit.

You get seals from leves. Leves are going to cost you durability, as you lose durability from ability use.

Therefore, the seals you gain barely break even. You only get 5 for 5000 seals.

Since gear doesn't lose its effectiveness as it goes down until it breaks, you really don't need to be repairing it all the time. Grade 5 Dark Matter is supposed to be a mob drop too, from what I read. If that's true, then there's a source that doesn't require a currency, just durability.

Additionally, the high cost of repairing the high end level 50 gear can be avoided by only using it on the important stuff. You can use cheap craftables for most things and you get the benefit of gaining a materia in the process. The problem as I see it, though this depends on server, is that the price of things on the market set too high so folks are also spending more for things on top of repairing. SE set a base cost for craftables through vendors but a lot of folks don't know that so prices can be a little silly on some stuff that shouldn't be so high, heh.

Yeah, there's tons of people in the guild who I never see talk or anything. :(

Time for me to try Copperbell again. I am scared shitless NeoJaf. I will mess it all up for sure.

PS. Goddamn you, lack of heart and courage

"There's nothing wrong with the economy in the game just level every gathering/crafting class to 50"

:|

You gotta reward the people that work on crafting/gathering. Too many mmos it becomes next to worthless. It'd be nice if that wasn't the case in this game.

Other than the existing reward of being the only people with the ability to make money (for the short term, off the market)?

please

And thats still not true because there is not gil being created in large enough numbers at 50. You can make plenty of money from other players, but thats an exchange, and that well will run dry eventually without new gil entering the economy somehow.

I picked back up my ARC in Sargatanas and reskinned it like the one in Lich. Name's the same as well, Eleanor Swiftwind, currently lv 11.
WHat are the healer classes in the game? Just SCH and WHM?

So.. it's free. So this whole "I can't repair because there's not enough money in the economy" is a non issue.

I feel like most of the people "worried' about this don't fully understand what high level DoH/DoL crafters are capable of and just FATE grinded, jumped into endgame dungeons and have yet to look elsewhere. There's a reason they aren't considered side activities, but full classes/professions.

That is why I wrote short term.

I'd have to level Goldsmith, Armorer, and Leatherworking to repair my own gear... and possibly Blacksmith for future weapons. Oh, and the gathering professions to go along with all of those. Forcing people to level every crafting/gathering to 50 to keep up with repair costs isn't rewarding anyone

There's a documentary on it.

Gold Farmers (2010)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1743932/

There are some previews of it on youtube. Despite being against the ToS, these guys play like all day and night nonstop just to be able to sell this stuff. Not that I'm condoning it, but I admire their ethic. They're not as bad as people make them out to be.

http://youtu.be/q3cmCKjPLR8?t=8s

The worst thing about gold farmers and RMT is the spamming and hacking accounts to do it. I have no problem with people spending their time farming money to sell and I have no problem with people buying the money. I just want them to stop spamming shout and PMing me this shit and I hate how they hack or whatever innocent accounts. If they had their own ahdgjhs agdskdu style accounts and didn't spam or advertise ingame and left peoples accounts alone then I'd be ok with them and they can go about their money farming business.

Is it worth waiting for a certain server to open or should I make a character on a random server and wait for transfers? Do they ever open up for new characters?

Yeah, I said it's why if they're in a stolen account it's likely not wholly unjustified. Maybe they're just working under someone else that got the account information and handed it to them, but it's still involvement in a really shitty thing to do to another person. If nothing else it kind of makes sense to be angry with them even if they're just another cog in the machine as they're the visible face to who screwed over a friend or associate.

The stuff that DOESN'T involve screwing over other players specifically is more along the lines of just getting angry something you don't like but isn't THAT wrong, though I hear gil selling had a huge effect on FFXI, moreso than gold selling in games like WoW.

So people grind fates because it was the path of least resistance for leveling but barely covers your repair bill in terms of Gil generation. Then you have jackasses speedrun every dungeon avoiding all those chests with free gil in them. But now those same people are crying that the economy is broken cause they are broke. Never change MMO userbase.

Pretty much. Gill for me has been pretty easy to make but if you are always wiping and not crafting or gathering then yes you will be broke in ff14.

I really don't get it. 50k at level 29.

And I'm not really even trying. I mean, I enjoy crafting, so maybe that's it?

If you craft AND market watch OR get lucky then you will be wealthy in this game. I like mining and I spend money all the time yet maintain a healthy 250k balance.
