Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

Yay new Limited Editions :) God Eater one looks nice.
A Miku LE for F2 should be almost guaranteed then right? They also finally showed F2 footage, wonder if we'll get an audio-included version of it..

Oh God this looks terrible. Do I even want an LE if it's one of these units..guess we'll have to see it in person.

If there's one thing I like about that design is that they fixed the speaker placement. This one seems a little better since it's not below the the analog stick making my finger cover it. I'll have to play it before deciding if they placed the speakers correctly but from looking at it, it looks good.

Crazy day.
2 vita remodels. Vita 2.0 and VitaTV thingy.
Some new vita exclusive games like that Danganropa, PS Nova and also Yakuza finally coming to ps vita. Disappointed that there wasnt any update on Gravity Rush 2 :C

I think Im skipping the vita2.0 but buying the vitaTV thing. Damn cheap, and still portable.

VitaTV should be a good move, as hopefully more people will buy into the plafform and want native content for it. From the trailer it looks like its essentially a vita which uses a dual shock for input and tv for display.

I will buy a Vita TV.

Cheap dedicated hardware for running Vita games on the big screen using controllers I already own, I'll take it.

What do you figure they'll do for games that require the touch screen? The VitaTV is kind of gimped for all of them.
Even Project Diva f requires use of either the back or front touch screens for the star notes, making it unplayable. Unless they're going to force button-control support for all games on the system, which I certainly wouldn't be against.

Another thing I'd worry about is output resolution. Can it output at 1080P? If not I don't know why you'd want to remote play your PS4 on it, it'd look hideous. Nor would you really want to watch movies at Vita's resolution on your TV..

Not forgetting 64gb memory cards

Today is vita overload

I imagine the touchscreen features will be compatible when the PS4 actually comes out in Japan and you can use a DS4 with it. Vita TV comes out this November.

Man, what a day. Exciting times are ahead.

Hopefully the Vita TV causes a noticeable increase in user base that will in turn attract more devs to support the platform.

You know, it would be pretty funny if PSVita TV can't upscale/re-render those subnative res games ...

Isn't it the exact same hardware specs?

I'm pretty excited. I already have two Vitas, but I'll definitely grab one of these Vita TVs. Very weird. But I'm excited.

Ah right that makes sense. I think the DS3 compatibility is also an option for the sake of convenience (since people already own those--hell I don't even have a PS3 and I own a DS3 for PC gaming).

Is there a particular reason you posted this thing twice? Hahaha.

Not sure if I want to get this... not really see the point for myself.

GAF went down between my post T_T
hence the double post.

somehow, I think I would want to get one now. lol
EDIT: and I would get it instead of the WiiU lol

I'm getting the Vita TV!! But i'd still want a HDMI out on my OLED Vita. Anyone know any way to mod it? :P

And booo to the Vita 2.0 for not using OLED. That screen is fucking gorgeous!!

All the announcements for Vita

Soul Sacrifice Delta
Soul Sacrifice 2
Natural Doctrine
Phantasy Star Nova
Dangan Ronpa: Another Episode
Dangan Ronpa 3 (Tease)
School Idol Paradise
Sengoku Musou 4
Kagero: Darkside Pricess

Did I miss anything?

Since the Dualshock 3 has extra buttons, could they come into play for touch controls? You could hold down R3 to make either of the analog sticks show a little cursor thing, and clicking the analog stick would act like touching the screen. L3 could do the same, except for the rear touchpad.

This was me at psvita tv

Gotta think big picture--if the game is a hit and sells Vitas to the masses we all benefit. (I'm not into FM either, though maybe I could be. Just never gave the genre a chance.)

But re Shahid's tease I'm also thinking hoping it's a JRPG.

But he haven't tweeted anything new right? The FM staff retwitted the big game tweet, so it's over. I don't remember him posting anything new.

Can someone explain something to me? Those:

- SS Delta =/= 2, right? Delta March 2014, SS2 in 2015.
- What are Natural Doctine, School Idol Paradise (a date sim i guess) and Kagero (classic game about putting tramps but...)
- Is DR: Another Episode a visual novel like the mainline titles or it is different.

So, VitaTV is pretty much Sony's 2DS huh?

I think is more like Sony's Ouya. But with Vita's hardware, so it can play PS1/PSP and PSV software and remote-playing. I think it's somewhat a smart move. Not buying it, I like that my Vita isn't plugged to TV. But there probably is an audience that will like a device like this.

Playing Vita games with proper analog sticks would be kind of fun in itself. I could actually aim in Mercenaries for instance.

vita tv doesn't look like a troll
People would have the same reaction if its not from Sony's official press conference.

Its similar to Nintendo move, somehow. Cheaper price, stripped main feature (3D for 2DS, screens for VitaTV), and change of demographic target. But both competing on different market now since 2DS is still a handheld while VitaTV like you said, is like Ouya but with better games support.

So my observation on Vita supply drought wasn't that off, but didn't expect the new model.
I kinda knew about Vita TV but didn't expect them to announce it today.

The biggest news to me for today is the 64GB memory card :)

Vita tv doesn't appeal me, i love portability, but it could be a good move.
I don't understand the people who now is interested in vita tv but was not on vita, the real problem was neither the lineup nor the memory card prices but the portability then!

Happy about the 64GB card.

I don't know about the LCD screen though.. I'm looking to get a second Vita. I hope it's not too much of a downgrade from the OLED.

Wait....the mystery Vita port is gone from the 2000 model. What was it for!?

Maybe that mysterious Vita port was an HDMI in late dev kits. But we the customers weren't that lucky.

Was that conference Vita focused or something? They revealed more games for the Vita than the PS4.

Plus Tecmo and Sony seem to be buddies lately. They are releasing lots of titles in the Vita. I almost feel forced to support them.

I'm buying it - not to play Vita games at home on TV but to play PS4 games on big TV without having to carry PS4 from it's usual place in my gaming corner.

Having a vita makes it irresistable for me to get a ps4 due to remote play and psplus. Having a ps4 makes me want to get a vita tv for a small price so I can play ps4 games on my other tv, and I get to have streaming videos on my other tv too.

This is how they get us guys. Sly folks, those Sony people.

This is exactly what I think the real problem for vita in the west has been all along. Portable gaming in its traditional sense has been getting taken over by mobiles and at home gaming on a TV is more popular.

Now people can buy a very cheap console that still has decent graphics (good enough for most people out there) and a huge catalogue of older games and games are cheaper than next gen consoles.

With the right marketing I think it could sell really well. I doubt I will get one because off TV play is what's important to me (hence ps4 will be a great extra for my vita).

Edit
Top of the page.
Get killzone if you like fps games. It's just so damn good.

I was just thinking a couple of days ago how light I thought the Vita felt. I certainly don't need anything lighter, and the fact that it'd be an LCD screen means the revision holds no appeal to me.

VitaTV sounds cool, but, I'm not sure I want yet another device.

I just want a larger vita with double the battery life. Oh well, you cannot have everything.
