If nothing else, Giantbomb can start doing Vita quicklooks once this comes out.
I thought I saw them back in the day w/ a dev kit that had HDMI out?

must be like shield aka work great.One caveat though;
They must have real faith in their Remote Play tech for this shit. Like, unequivocal faith.
Cause if it's busted, they're busted.
Also; that Gaikai acquisition looks like the smartest goddamn thing they've ever done if the likely scenario (them putting it on this too) comes to pass.
And someone needs to buy OnLive like nowsterday.
Getting this.
When it comes to the US!
That's basically my point. It's a similar situation, just reversed. I don't see there being particularly less reason to make Vita games now because of this, when if anything I see this as increasing the potential audience for owners of Vita-compatible devices.
WTF did I just wake up to?
Wow. Really didn't see this coming. This is like Sony's Gameboy Micro. (Kind of.)

A good emulation solution would be: L2+L-Stick for rear touch
and R2+R-Stick for front touch. With cursors/pointers shown on the screen of course.
I think really the Vita functionality is to get people immediately interested in the device with tech Sony currently have available.
The major selling point is the remote play.
If this thing takes off people who buy a PS4 might not be willing to shell out for another console if they have one unit in their home and able to share it with other tv's.
You might think twice about shelling about $500 for an Xbox when you can share you PS4 with every tv in your house.
That's pretty huge. Sony will not sell as much hardware, but they may stop you from thinking about another company's and they make their money on software obviously.
I think Sony is making huge steps to put themselves in the lead this next gen even making little sacrifices to do it.
That's a very apt and well thought way to put it.I think really the Vita functionality is to get people immediately interested in the device with tech Sony currently have available.

I never said there will be less reason to make less Vita games, I said there will be less reason to make less exclusive Vita games.
We will see how many new Vita exclusives are announced in the next year. If I was making a game that had to work on a TV with DS3 I would make sure it worked on a PS3 as well, thats all i'm saying.

As part of the company's (sony) fiscal forecast for the current year, it predicts that in total around 5 million PS Vitas and PSPs will be sold combined.

So this thing will let me:
Play a large portion of digital PS Vita games
Play a large portion of digital PSN games that are already compatible with Vita
Play a large portion of digital PSN PSX/PS2 games that are already compatible with Vita
Play a large portion of digital PSP games that are already compatible with Vita
What PS3 games have been ported to Vita? Any chance I'll be able to play Last of Us on this one day?
Might play through Birth By Sleep again with this.
That's nice that there's a fallback, but they should patch those games anyhow
I don't recall a required camera use for Uncharted? There was just the little tilt-aim thing you could do but that was just a frill...?
There are other sections of the game that require the use of the Vita's special control features, which seem to be in place strictly to show off, sometimes grinding the game to a halt. Using the touch screen to do rubbings is somewhat lame, particularly because there is no skill at all too it. The same goes for the "Cleaning off old tools" minigame. The worst offender, however, is the invisible ink puzzle. At a point in the game, you find a parchment that you must hold up to a light to be able to read. This requires you to get up from what you are doing, and hold your Vita's camera up to a light to see the image. There are two reasons why this is detracting:
1. When I play games on my Vita, it's usually late at night, usually in bed. To solve this puzzle required me to get up, run to the bathroom to find a light that wouldn't disturb the wife and kids, solve the puzzle, and then run back to bed to carry on. The puzzle can't be skipped, so in the off chance you are playing Uncharted in an unpowered fallout shelter, at this point your game would be stuck, until you ran out of batteries, and then wouldn't be playing again. It just creates a totally unnecessary break in the game play, just to show off a gimmick that is displayed much better in games like Little Deviants.
2. The game GIVES you the solution. It specifically displays on screen that you need to hold up your Vita to a bright light. Where is the fun in that? I would be much more interested if I had to figure that out myself, rather than be handed a spoiler. In completing the puzzle, there was no sense of accomplishment, rather I just felt like I was jumping through Bend's hoops.

Wow, what a perfect solution! Not.
How Sony could release a set top box console, and fail to release a controller for it which is capable of adequately playing many of the console's games, is absolutely baffling.

Crisis core replay? Crisis core replay.
How about dissidia would that be playable?
It's weird for me to see Andrew speaking japanese.
There's touch screen emulation support. That's enough for Wipeout.
Wrong. Menu navigation won't be a problem. It's games that require touch screen use during gameplay that will be hard to make work.
Via google translate...
There was manipulation of on-screen "touch" and "flick" in Q. PS Vita, but how do you operate the wireless controller?
You still have camera support you need to add in too. Assassin's Creed and Uncharted both use the Vita camera for puzzles.
