Persona 4 Golden on my TV yeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhhh
My thoughts exactly. I sold my Vita in anticipation of buying it again when it drops but holy shit. Glad this was announced before I bought another vita.

So....isn't it reasonable to assume this could support the Vita itself as a controller so you can use the touch screens and camera? In other words, play the Vita as normal but have Vita TV spit the image to your television.
"Bringing the Vita to the living room".So this is exactly what House mentioned back in Feb during the PS4 reveal.
It was something similar to "Exciting home integration"
Yeah, I can say it blindsided me! It's a pretty rad device--don't see how anyone can poo poo this.House hinted heavily at it at the February event ('something something Vita living room experience'), so some of us did.
With everyone trying to position a cheap streaming box, probably with gaming capabilities, this was a smart move which could have been forseeable.
Although it is surprising that Sony actually came through with it.
I don't believe. In fact, I know Giant Bomb has problems with the capture devices they try to use to get Vita footage.Does the regular Vita have any sort of HDMI out?

So they basically whittled the functionality of the Vita down to that size or is it just emulating it?
"PS Vita TV will be available first in Japan prior to any other regions, on November 14, 2013, at a recommended retail price (RRP) of 9,954 yen (including tax)."
This statement from their PR seems to indicate it will be released outside of Japan at a later time.

Like a lot of people, my TV is mounted and the power/HDMI cables are all buried in the wall. I'd much prefer to throw a $99 streaming box in my bedroom to remote play PS4 when my girlfriend wants to use our regular TV than unhook wires and lug shit around every few days.
If that were the only feature, I wouldn't buy it...but it'd be nice to have the native Vita gaming on a TV as well...

Was the Vita's UI ever updated for dpad control?
So i don't need to connect a vita to anything or anything like that right? i just need to top box? holy shit.
What are the restrictions for PS4 remote play? It says "enjoy most of the PS4 games". Which ones will not work?
Does this have any built in memory? Or is it all memory card based like the Vita itself?
Oh wow. That's a standard 5v Jack.
I could import a Japanese unit and have no issues whatsoever.
Suddenly the 2DS doesn't look all that stupid.
True. If you expect Blu-ray quality from streaming, 1080p over wireless wouldn't work I guess.
Still, it would be nice to have the option when using a cable.
Anyway, it's not a deal breaker for me. Will get this day one.

It still looks pretty dumb.Suddenly the 2DS doesn't look all that stupid.

That is just incredible to me. Unbelievable!A full-fledged Vita, minus buttons, screen and touch-pad.

Ones which rely on the camera.
This has already been covered in the Vita remote play threads.
The 544p , or even sub 544p VITA games resolution is too low for 1080p HDTV display, it might kill user's incentive when they really see VITA TV on screen.
Yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking. Maybe that will be in day 1 so if you have a Vita you get full compatibly and can use that as the controller by default.So....isn't it reasonable to assume this could support the Vita itself as a controller so you can use the touch screens and camera? Only y trying to expand the market. I can't believe you're missing the point of this. This is a 100 dollar Vita which plays your PSN purchased PS1/PSP/PSV titles alongside streaming video via any supported app and PS4 remote streaming for PS4 games/media on this thing.Sony officially has no idea what to do with the Vita anymore
If the PSV isn't region locked then I don't see a reason why this would be. Unless it's DLC like it is now.is this going to be region locked? i want to use this with my ps4 in november and would import if the ps4 remote play function is enabled. i hope we find out soon.
Time to sell my useless Apple TV to offset the cost of this!
