Woah woah woah, really? I... don't quite understand the hostility in this answer, because for all of the GTA V information I've consumed I hadn't come across the fact that V takes place in a separate universe. Are all mainline GTAs in their own universe, even though they have the same cities that are referenced from game to game? Is this some multiverse shit that is going on?

There's the GTA3 universe that spawned: GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, and all the side stories of that era

Then there's the "HD" universe: GTAIV, Lost and Damned, Gay Tony, GTAV

Very little was carried over.

Yeah WM does and it's faster as a lot less people think about going there, plus you're not in a cramped store with BO running rampant. People who pre-order also get priority in line.

It's not an actual pre-order bonus though, it'll be in the case of every first run copy.
 
I have pre-ordered the game for PS3 as I have always played the GTA games on PlayStation consoles but I hope to get the Xbox 360 version for review, so that I can play with my friend online.

Been checking out some forums that are known for hacking and leaks.

Quite a lot of talk seems to point that today or tomorrow the game will be released online so hopefully we can see some videos.

People have brought it up a thousand times, if not here on other popular boards. There's the 2D universe, 3D universe and the HD universe.


There are many references to GTAIII characters and brands (El Burro graffiti in LC for example) in GTAIV, but do any characters (other than Lazlow) actually exist within both 'universes'? Is that where Donald Love went? Did he hop dimensions into the GTAIV universe?! Plot twist!! Are the two universes completely separate? I understand it'd make almost no sense having two Liberty City's but is there any way we'll see characters from GTAIII return? GTAIV has some amazing characters, but some of the characters in the III era are just unforgettable.

Also the gang from San Andreas wasn't Grove Street, Grove Street was a set of the larger gang known as "The Families".

Eh, I'll agree with that but my SE is only $5 more since if I had stuck with the normal edition I would have gone out to WalMart to pick it up at midnight which would've cost me $10, the other $5 comes from a promo coupon I got from Amazon off some promotion they had going last month.

Okay, cool. I can definitely see how this is probably very common knowledge at this point, but I guess that's what I get for starting the series with IV and never revisiting the older titles/researching them beyond a couple of random GTA retrospectives that I've watched.
 
I believe I saw that GTA V is available on the psn store for a day 1 digital release. Since I have playstation plus, if I preorder GTA V on there, will it automatically turn on and start downloading it?
 
Ok the posts have been deleted from the forum regarding the leak so it's probably wrong.

Reason I thought it might have been true was due to the name mention is the same guy who does seem to leak games rather early.

Normally I expect some leaks by now but R* are being so tight with copies maybe it will be kept secure until release or a day before.
