I really messed up by not preordering sooner. I got paid today so I'm going to get mine in today if I still can. I need to find the right mix of a place with a midnight release that won't take me 3-4 hours to pick up. The small GS near me (VERY small store) has over 400 preorders and I'm not even sure if they are doing a midngith launch. I don't see how they could with a tiny store in a stripmall. I'm thinking bestbuy.

When you preorder the game it says you can download the game from the 13th of September and download the dynamic Pre order theme and the blimp addon on the 17th.

By the way, what I have been wondering about some time now is those payed pre-orders I hear from US (and UK?) people. Do you have to pay your pre-order off at every store, or just some? Because here in The Netherlands you just pre-order it online for free and pick it up at launch day. When you don't pick it up within a week, they can sell it to someone else.

Question to those who remember the GTA: San Andreas hype (at the time I still didn't have the Internet at home, so it was just magazines), was it surprising how much stuff was in it or was most of it previewed in one way or another? I remember having the impression that, for example, the size of rural areas was much bigger than most people expected. I'm curious how much exactly was revealed back then, like, days before the release. Wondering how much stuff Rockstar still keeps as a secret now...

I avoid reading previews, spotlights, hypes, etc for this reason. I prefer to go in blind and this time- I really am. I saw the 4 minute youtube video which may have spoiled some for me but it also hyped it up. So.. here we go.
