Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

Anyone knows what (kadogawa)game is the one teased in the vita sizzle reel?

Neither the Vita 2.0 or Vita TV really interest me, but if it's more ways to get the Vita hardware out there and helps bring more games to the system then that's good for me and my DatOLED Vita.

SS Delta and PSNova are great announcements, I just hope we see them localised. Come on Sony, step up to the plate if Sega won't do it themselves. Btw, did they say anything about Panopticon/Territory Wars? I haven't seen it mentioned.

i love seeing all these vita haters come out of the woodwork and start supporting this system acting like they know everything about the system/life it's had - let them eat their crow.

just gotta stick to this thread. its the only safehaven on gaf.

do we know whats tomorrows store update brings?

edit: ah got it.

To all VitaBro's in Germany: If you're still waiting for Rayman Legends, you might get lucky in your local MediaMarkt/Saturn. I picked it up in my local MM in Würzburg today!

I sawit last Friday in mediamarkt as well, but then I checked the store this weekend and it was actually up already! Been playing it a few levels, and it's lovely - to see the touch actually be touch rather than stupid button prompts feels ... Lush. ;)

I bolded my reply.

If more people buy into the Vita platform there will be more Vita games. With more Vita games more people will buy the portable Vita. The platform grows.

And PS4 games won't just map buttons to the rear pad, developers could have a UI specific to Remote Play with buttons on the screen and things like that. The rear pad mapping is the standard stuff if the developer doesn't take the time to do anything. For instance Hotline Miami 2 on PS4 could control identically on Remote Play as the native Vita version.

The point is that if even PS4 developers are being encouraged to consider two different input methods, that will be significantly easier and more common to do on the Vita.

Look like SCEJ still believe in AA games on Vita, SCEE/SCEA need to learn a thing or two.

so they removed oled, I posted many times here that they'll need to do that to saves costs, it kinda suck if you Vitaloed owner since going from amoled+ to anything lcd for gaming suck suck but I think that sacrifice was necessary.

I think I'll skip vita 2.0 - until I'm flush enough to get one for collection purposes.
hope to see a 3.0 deluxe with oled back. I'll get that.

.

They will not return to oled/amoled+, they dropped any kind of support to oled long ago and they don't use Sasmung screens for their xperia phones (or TVs anymore). Hopefully they don't use Sharp/Japan Display shitty tft lcd screens they were using on Xperia Z, because those screens sucked.

I have a tiny, super minuscule circular crack on my Vita screen. I'm OCD about this stuff and am thinking about sending it in to Sony. Anyone from VitaGAF have any experience with sending in their Vita for screen repair?

For reference, here's the tiny crack:

i know changing the faceplate on a psp was super simple. i can't imagine it's much harder on a vita

a circular crack is caused from direct pressure to the screen. it is possible that a screen protector might diminish that pressure, but i doubt it.

thats more for scratches/scrapes

Seeing how Japan console market is falling into irrelevance, Sony Japan must feel that they need the Vita to be succesful. The shy support Japan is giving to the PS4 is a a bit worrying.

BTW Toto, what's the main problem about Xperia Z screen? The device itself seems great to me. I'm thinking in getting it once my phone contract ends. Is that phone so bad?

I checked out the community page for kzm (sony pages), 90% is just threads asking for it. Glad the full game turned out fantastic as well, just doing the last mission now. I managed to reset my sleep here but since I got this the other day I've been staying up really late playing. It has that one more try feel to it, too easy to pick up and play more. luckily Spanish version played on English automatically, nice and easy, bit fucked with dlc but it's worth it.

PAL releases changes to your system lenguage once you starts the game. I've imported some PS3 games and haven't had any problem. Although I would love playing my Tales of Xillia copy in English instead of spanish...

So, Have you liked Spain? I'm from there, so i'm curious about you opinions hehe.

We looked into that, but no go. We need to have the whole track available while doing analysis, as the analysis is too CPU-intensive to do on the fly, and it has to do multiple passes that compare parts of the song to other parts.

So no Music Unlimited support? It does have an offline mode and the songs have to be saved somewhere. You probably won't get access to them :/

The phone is fine feature and design wise, but the screen is just garbage (shitty viewing angles, black/level/color/contrast are all complete poop and look like some early Nokia/SE colored phone..no I'm not exaggerating) now news saying that Sony working on and changed the screen completely for their upcoming new two Xperia and the new screen are supposed to be good but we need to see the new screens first.

Damn, I totally missed the Vita TV thing. Had the sound turned down and must have clicked over too late.

I'll buy it. Import if I have to. I wonder if it will have a card slot, or if it's digital only. Digital only would make me sad :(

i swear by a screen protector for a vita

so i didn't want to shoot down your suggestion

people rocking it naked just seems like screwing a stripper with no jimmie. sure, you might get away with it and it's great

but do you REALLY want to take that chance?

...and with that, I've ordered a hori screen protector for my Vita.
I've been meaning to ask about them since getting my Vita. I feel really uncomfortable dragging my grubby thumb across the screen so often, but I don't use screen protectors on my devices (phone/WiiU/3DS) and I've never had any problems with them.

No worries, it has a game card slot :)

unless you had sand on your thumb, i wouldn't worry about something like that at all

there really needs to be a summary thread for all these announcements. i've been reading gaf all day and i've only just now seen that soul sacrifice delta and soul sacrifice 2 have been announced.

it play cards, the only problem with VitaTV is the touchscreen compatibility so not all games works, but developers need to start patching their games to take out the forced touch gimmicks.

the other thread is moving way too fast.. hopefully my vita bros can help me here.. so crosspost re: Vita TV

Hold up...

So with this I can stream PS4 content to another TV?!?!?

Holy shit. I have 2 PS4 preorders one for my basement and another for the family room. Did Sony just save me 300 bucks?

Some here will probably remember. 2 weeks ago with the EU release of Spelunky, there was a short period when you bought it (on the vita) you only got the demo. I called & e-mailed customer support, both times they promised an automatic refund in the 'next few days' - Shahid tweeted about it too.

Did anyone here (I know a few got the same problem) got refunded? I didn't get anything.

Yep, the less crappy touch gimmicks we get the better.

The Vita's been around for almost 2 years and we're just now getting a game with touch controls that don't seem forced and borish. And even they aren't necessary, just innovative.

Yes!

If you're okay with the limitations. The Vita TV only outputs 720p... but I don't know if that's a game changer for you.

Yep, it streams your PS4 to whatever other TV set where you plug in the PS Vita TV.

Having 2 PS4s would allow you to play on both at the same time though (if someone else at home would use it of course).

Now, am I right in believing that, since PS Vita is region-free, then the PS Vita TV will also be region-free?

Yep, Vita TV is region free with full english support as soon as it releases in Japan. No need to wait for the NA release if you can afford the import fees.

Nice to know. Thanks!

I think I can wait for the western release, but I hope they also release the white one here. So slick...

I don't have any qualms with the 720p limitation. I also don't have anyone else in the house that would be interested in playing a game on the thing except me. So wife can stream movies and I can play games. This thing is perfect for me.

HOOKERS AND BLOW ON ME TONIGHT GUYS!

before preordering, we need to find out when the ps4 remote play and dualshock 4 support will be patched into the vtv. if we don't get the vtv until sometime around the japanese ps4 launch, it might be pointless to import unless you want to just play vita/psp/ps1 games on it with a dualshock3.

Party at Rob's house!

The question is...

1 $300 Hooker or 300 $1 dollar hookers?

tell me you live in the tri-state area of the US! haha. I'll bring shrooms, molly and my vita.
What happened to the free games? Rayman and GTA are not free.

next two tuesdays.

Yeah, that really perplexed me. I really like touch gameplay in stuff like Rayman Legends, LBPV and Dragon's Crown... and I'm so used to using touch for menus and quick restarts in stuff.

Maybe it will let me play it with my Vita to bring it to new heights of ridiculousness, when it could just be a $10 HDMI cable instead of a $95 box.

DS4 controller could be cool, if supported, but there's no back touch on that.

Lots of holes in this, but many people loathe touch, so it'll still appeal to some purely on principal.

Wasn't that leaked months ago by one of stores ?

Amazon France listed the game back in late July/early August, but this is the first we've seen of it since -- plus an ESRB rating it is a little more concrete than a store listing (i.e. Play Asia listed Zone of the Enders for the Vita, but we don't know if it went further than that).

EEEEE! I finally got a top of page. My recommendations:
- Thomas Was Alone
- Hotline Miami
- Stealth Inc.
- The Walking Dead

They soul sacrificed the OLED.
ibmGh7JY9lq66l.png

Knew this image would come in handy again.

It's a shame that they aren't keeping OLED tech. But I'm gonna stay optimistic. Maybe the LCD used will be a decent. Perhaps we may even be able to play under direct sunlight?

Hope Soul Sacrifice Delta makes it's way west. I don't mind me some more boss battles.

I finally found out the name of that game during the upcoming Vita games trailer that I thought looked interesting. It was called Akiba Strip 2.

I looked up a trailer and while the gameplay looks amazing with the brawler fighting, it also has some bad. It seems in the game the object of it is to beat people up and rip their clothes off (btw you rip off both male and females clothes). So while I don't like the ripping clothes feature, I can't lie that the gameplay looks fun as heck.

Here's a trailer (NSFW)
