Is anyone else worried how PS1 and PSP games are going to look? Going to look like shit on my 60" Aquos lol.
I'm talking about the OG VITA. It doesn't have an HDMI port, so how will I play MGS3 on my TV? Guessing VITA-2000 has an HDMI port?

I don't think you two are on the same wave lengths. You buy a VitaTV, put MGS3 Gamecard into VitaTV, play game.
You dont need an actual PS Vita Handheld at all.

Just ignore him/her. Check his/her post history. Trying wayy too hard in all Sony threads. Not at running video games.
Vita has Netflix.
Music Unlimited is Sony's own answer to Spotify and Xbox Music, superior to both thanks to the fact that Sony is actually a major music publisher.
Way more shitty Android/iOS games with shitty controls. VitaTV has high quality Vita, PSP, PS1, and PSN titles with high quality controls. In short, gaming ghetto v. VitaTV.
Well, gaming first, streaming device second, but yes.
Only if you like Nintendo games. The Vita library stands with the 3DS quite admirably across the board otherwise (same number of 75+ games on Metacritic for example, despite Vita games getting hit with a greater "handheld" stigma than 3DS releases).
Didn't realize your phone was always connected to your TV, had a controller, and could remote play PS4 games.
There is a difference between not understanding a product and intentionally being obtuse. You're clearly being the later.
Start with how Vita games are going to look. Even the crappiest of the early PS3 games did not come with a 544p resolution. Is anyone else worried how PS1 and PSP games are going to look? Going to look like shit on my 60" Aquos lol.

Do people honestly expect to be able to play PS4 games beamed from another room on this thing? Maybe if your whole house is built out of plaster, but one concrete wall and this all falls apart.
So is this region locked?
So is this region locked?
It doesn't. The VitaTV is the only one with an HDMI port. All "normal" Vita's will still function the same as always.

Vita-2000 doesn't so you will have to buy this thing
Should've just put HDMI out in the Vita in the first place. It's not as if the test units don't already have HDMI out.
I don't understand the point of this. I mean, I get it, but honestly, are there more than 100-200k people that are gonna want this? What if the Vita game requires a touch screen?
Should've just made a PS3 equivalent to this instead. I just don't see this working out for Sony.
I don't think it will be region locked with games, but it might be with the streaming services.
Not sure, I've never played them on my PS3. Can't imagine they look any good...Won't it look the same as it does now on a PS3?

Games likely won't, but there's a good chance the streaming services will be.
Possibly worse, since they go through two separate upscaling passes (first on the Vita, then on the TV)..Won't it look the same as it does now on a PS3?
Where are all the TV, TV, TV haters now?![]()
I had thought that, but the streaming services are found in the PSN store and you just log into the appropriate region to download those apps. It shouldn't be a problem.

If the control scheme is too complex (Tearaway) it probably won't be supported. Minor touch stuff might be patched in, but no confirmation.not sure if its been answered already but since you can hook a vita up to this would that allow you to play the games requiring the touch features such as gravity rush or uncharted?
The vitaTV has a larger games library at launch that the Xbox one will have in its lifetime.

I'm definitely a fan of what Sony is doing with vita here, but...

It's called Vita TV because, unlike the current Vita, content is displayed on your TV. I hope this helps your "confusion."" It felt a lot like that was the main thing they were focusing on."
VitaTV "main thing" is... TV, isnt it?

they make sense though giving their increased use of the touch and gyro features.
Might get patched or delayed until DS4 support is added since that has the touchpad![]()
With this announcement....
I seriously need to start investing my money on other things. Where the F^ck is gaming headed next?

I am just having a really hard time thinking this thing is a good idea. Splintering the market for interfaces (some people will have touchscreens, some won't), blowing up HUDs and screen scopes from 4 inch ones to 50 inches as if designing for screen size wasn't a concept, nerfing any social/portable functionality, remote play that just can't possibly work in any reliable kind of way... and isn't this just like re-releasing the PS2 except with only Vita software on it? "A third console to put on your TV, with worse graphics, and fewer games!" If people treat it like a console, why would they ever want games released on it instead of on the PS3 or 4? What is the Vita advantage?
I really just don't get it.
Think the Xbone will top 1300?![]()

Depends on the service. Joysound Karaoke, for instance, isn't IP blocked on the PS3, but it is hardware blocked.
But doesn't Japan have access to special services not available in the rest of the world?

One thing... will the Dual Shock 4 (or whatever the PS4 controller is called) work with this, too?

I feel like there will still be some notable lag inherent in something like that, but it would certainly be interesting to be proven wrong.
