In the fine print it says "Additional Killer Instinct characters sold separately" so I'm pretty sure it means you get the free version and Shadow Jago.

How do you know it's not the Round 2 roster that applies to that fine print?

They're being really stingy with the character reveals. With so few remaining, my guess is they plan to reveal one and tease another at the end of every month until the console launches.
 
As much as I'd like a reveal (I even awoke today, with a "Ohhh, gotta check that KI news!" thought in my head, for no provoked reason...), I'm not too bothered by the "slow" full character updates.

I do wish there was more of an "official trickle" of info coming out, but I also want reveals to be full of new music, new stages, new effects, and meaningful UI and system changes, fully open and playable to Max for Breakdown and at some public tourney event. These things don't just pop up every 2 days, y'know?
 
I'm betting we get full Sadira gameplay vid from IGN, week later TGS where Sadira will be playable and a new character tease, which will then later be fully revealed in October. That leads nicely into launch, which I reckon will see the next character post launch revealed.
 
While it makes so much sense that it's going to be Fulgore, I hope that it is Orchid. We (or I) need that second female character for launch.
 
I would be shocked if the last character isn't Fulgore. The only reason I could see them not including Orchid in one of the two future DLC characters is they want to hold onto her for season 2 which I think would be shitty.

Ideally, the three remaining roster spots should be Fulgore, Orchid, and Spinal.

I hope this game does well. Needs to convince Microsoft to revive other old Rare franchises. Game looks to be in good hand though so hope is high :D
 
Fulgore or Orchid are required. I could see them dropping Orchid to season 2, because they already introduced another female, however.

Looking at character types by design and origin, we have an Asian male, an Indian male, Elemental Creature, an Arab Woman (?), and a Beast (Canine).

Of the core Cast of KI, we've still got another Elemental Creature, an Asian / Mixed Woman, A Black male, A Cyborg, a Walking Skeleton, and Beast (Reptile).

If looking simply at what will offer the most visual / origin variety, Combo, Spinal, and Fulgore probably make the most sense to add for the remainder of Round 1.

I do wonder how much the story mode dictates the character selection, however; the need for protagonist, antagonist, mysterious individuals, and something to pull players back to the story of S2, probably also plays a part in who we're getting. I suspect that's one of the reasons we're getting Sadira so early, for example.
 
I have a feeling Fulgore will be the most radically redesigned and get the most fan backlash. He's not even gonna be that interesting especially since they removed fatalities from this game. IT really should be Orchid but I can also see Riptor since the Jurassic Park genetically engineered Dinosaur wave is rising fast.
 
So major nelson just posted he's doing an Xbox One tour...or something. He's going to be in Boston (at the Microsoft Store) next week and will have Killer Instinct with him. I'm thinking about going since I'm like 40 minutes away, but I really don't wanna deal with friday night traffic. more info:

While I wasn't an Orchid main (although I played everyone), I think it makes sense not to release Orchid in the first season. You need a reason for the casuals to look at the game again in 6 months. Releasing Orchid... say in early summer as the kick off to season two would be a good way to do that.

From the look of how season one is shaping up, I may not have a main to play. This is one of the issues with launching a 6 character roster with 8 by March. My mains in KI were Spinal, Sabrewulf, Combo, Thunder, Kim Wu and Tusk. Sabrewulf and Thunder have been changed too much for my tastes, I don't like any of the other characters, and unless Spinal makes the cut, I have no other mains to fall back on.

I will still play, and maybe I'll like the new girl, or one of the returning character's updated play style will spark my attention... but it won't be as enjoyable for me. Hoping that changes once I have time to really break down the game though.

I would agree if Orchid wasn't one of the main and most popular characters of the franchise.
 
It's great that I know of places that have the original arcade games. Thing is, they're both half hour drives- the Play N Trade with the KI1 cab is in Stuart, the arcade with the KI2 cab is in Lake Worth.

It'll be worth it, though...

Sorry. There's always camping out. After doing so for the 360 and then the Wii I swore never again, but they were memories I'll always cherish in a way.

They'll be systems available at some point and maybe when you get one they'll have the 7th and 8th character already available and can join in on the fun to see who will be included in season 2.

This comes with the following bonus: Xbox One Killer Instinct: Round One Digital Game playable with exclusive Shadow Jago Character. I'm wondering if this means I get the full Killer Instinct game, or merely the Shadow Jago Character to use in the game after I purchase the game separately.

You: One more question: is it the $20 version of the game, or the $40 version of the game. Both have been announced.

I'm hoping we get a KI Fridays after that or something. I'm not expecting high level play at TGS, and I'd like to know what the new character can do.
