3DS Streetpass Experiences

I'm a bit more confused with 3DS sound now, I think I got a pass from the pizza hut relay (my only local reliable one) while I was listening to podcasts (but when I tried this with homepass it failed). The green light did not show but it behaves like that for regular streetpass too; probably because the system is not really sleeping just screens are switched off.

The Emperor is complete BS.
Only being able to fight once for every 2 sets of passes not helping me (I'm not taking any losses because I'm somewhat close to having enough troops that I'll only need to win the same amount of times rather than more times).

Wait, I don't understand how having large amounts of troops is trolling.
It means others can not win against you (or need to spy on you multiple turns and/or your army is 1/98/1%) stunting their troop gains (kind greets is plaza pop.) and their ability to get the plaza tickets. Considering how uncommon passers with the games are too...

Of course what can I say I'm conflicted, compared to homepasses I was nothing (IIRC 14 of my top 20 scores are 9,999,999) but in the real world I'm a titan. If I start over I have to take even longer (and possibly get to an even higher troop count) to get the pesky monarch tickets (what was it again for the highest tiers, greet 300 and fight 300...)

But in all honesty the game is badly designed and sort of works against you if you had a large plaza to start with (as that would set up the initial scaling as much as fighting monarchs does...). Sure in theory (or so I hear) you can win any match with the troops you have at invasion (which I guess makes the troop gain side of things less potent*) but what happens if you lose (and don't quit the software to stop the drop saving), you can get too far behind you can not catch up without blowing all your play coins. As chunsoft would say, should have thought of that before you turned Mii invitations on...

*-Perhaps there is a reason the plaza ticket was 1 million and not 9 million...

It's a relatively short path from 1m to 9m. The first playthrough is the hardest. After that you can spy to win every single round, so it's just grinding to get to the emperor and then
spam calvary, calvary, calvary, calvary, calvary
and hope you get lucky
which happens a fair bit with that method, in my experience...
.

On the official site, streetpass is relegated to just a few mentions within talk about the local/online functionality stuff, so nervous times.

Has anyone got the 1.5x and 2x bigger than you achievements in StreetPass Battle? The current opponent I'm on is 1.5x bigger but I don't know if I should risk it.

The opponents you see on the world map are scaled to your army size as of the time you selected to invade and are always winnable on the first try. They do not scale down if you lose however, so you may have to do some monarch fighting/play coin shoving to get yourself back if you do lose.

It becomes absolutely trivial to defeat enemies 2x your size once you can spy on them.

Oh, huh. I never bothered fighting any of them until i had more than their army.

Are there any games coming-up with decent streetpass implementation (other than Pokemon)?

I'm getting kinda bored with free stars in SM3DL and battles in Fire Emblem. Animal Crossing is still cool.

Did you beat other people's best times in SM3DL?

Do you have KI:U, MH3U, or MK7?

I wonder if Zelda will use StreetPass... it has online features (apparently), so it could just as easily leverage StreetPass connectivity.

Went to the Dodgers vs Giants game last night and no StreetPasses. Made me sad.

Also, I'm going to be shocked as all get out if you can't SP during X or Y. Not having that functionality for a system selling game would be a huge fuck up IMO.

I just hope that the release of Pokemon doesn't signify the peak of streetpassing.

Obviously every 3DS sold is still a potential pass, but I don't know if there is much left in the Nintendo catalogue to have the broad appeal of AC and Pokemon.

Apart from Smash Bros. I imagine they could do something decent with that.

I hate it when a game only has a few streetpass slots. Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus both have 50. That's awesome. Then 3D Land only has 3, which is too few. Even MK7 with 10 doesn't feel like much. I get so many tags for NSMB2 I wish it had 50.

I'm going to Symphony of the Goddesses in November and I have a bad feeling I'm going to get overwhelmed with tags for some games.

Keep in mind not everyone knows about Streetpass or how to set it up. It's not even turned on automatically for you; you have to turn it on manually for every game. I've seen plenty of people with 3DS outside but never get their tags probably because of this. Nintendo should turn it on automatically for all 3DS.

And what was that update I got yesterday? Seems like a very tiny update.

Final Find Mii II Secret Quest hat get.

Followed by dropping nearly 300 coins on Monster Manor.

I am enzo_gt, and I have a problem. And I love it.

Try changing his Mii's hat? I seem to remember reading that that can fix it.

I am actually having this issue also. My wife and I have a pair of 3DS' and they haven't street passed in days. I checked to make sure they were both updated and street pass was turned on. After changing hats, still nothing. Anyone have an idea if this is a widespread issue?

Has anyone been to any of the Nintendo Experience tour yet? I want to know if it's more organized than the Best Buy one, or at least it's easier to play a game.

Things were going great this morning. Finally got another Dragon's Breath so I could bring my S-Rank one to +2, beat one of my puzzle box times... then accidentally dropped my S-Rank Sonic Surprise +2 into another weapon and had to force exit to save it, losing all the progress that session and rendering that queue unusable for the game entirely.

Saw a mii not only with a Mario hat but with a Mario
costume
.... how do you unlock those things ? O.o

You need to get the StreetPass games and play them and they will unlock tickets. Those tickets can be used to get any of the StreetPass costumes/hats that are available for that day. It cycles through about 4 different costumes/hats per day.

I bought all the StreetPass games, but I want to delete them all except Mii Force. Is there a way to do that?
Yes, on the main plaza at the bottom there is the option to delete individual games. I think it somewhere in the rightmost option.

Also you can re-watch some of the sales bunny stuff...

Just Streetpass an Alex Jones Mii character with "**********.com" greeting in NYC.... Ok, you nailed the Mii appearance, but really dude? Really?

Yeah, I have to imagine that a Zelda concert would be a lot better for passing than going to the Nintendo booth at the Cycle Show.

how do you get 100+ streetpasses ?

Can't you just get 10 and more 10 in the queue ?

That's the most you can hold at a time assuming you aren't actively playing through them (or just letting queues go without playing with them). To get more than that you have to actively be managing it.

I just got a streetpass from a Japanese person from Tokyo. I pass by the NYC airtrain station 4 days a week so I'm a little surprised it's taken me this long to get a streetpass from another region.

There's a guy with a 3DS just a metre in front of me and there's no green light.

Maybe I should whip my 3DS out so we can... dock.

I'm sure the Australia map was a recent add...

3DS Sound again. This time I hit up relays while listening and no hits (like I suspected internet mode does not work with 3DS sound sleep)...which meant the hits I did get in the past from those relays were actual streetpasses...plot twist...

Could you see if wireless was on? Or if they were playing Resident Evil (or other streetpass disabling evil games...)

I didn't see any lights. It was an original 3DS, so I don't know where the wireless light was.

Funnily enough, I think I tagged him standing in line at a fast food place after the return journey.

Last played game was Kid Icarus Uprising. Not sure if that blocks connectivity.

Wireless light is on the right side of the base half of the unit. There's a physical switch right under it (which is about where the power switch on the DS Lite was) to turn wireless on and off.

Turns out I had already passed with him numerous times before, so I'll forgive him for having wireless off this morning.

Kinda funny that I have only ever seen 2 visible 3DS' and had no passes from them.

I brought my 3DS to college today and I got 20 Streetpasses! I was really surprised because I've brought it to school before and only got maybe 5-6. Finished a puzzle and went through 3 stages of Find Mii :]]
