3DS Streetpass Experiences

I only pushed 6 through the plaza gate first time through, so it's likely that I'll max-out at 16... Which is pretty much par for the course.

Had my 3ds for like 8 months now, the only time I got a streetpass is when I sent it in for repair.

:(

if you have the latest firmware installed you should be able to get streetpass hits at mcdonalds and starbucks. And once pokemon hits the frequency of hits should increase.

I easily get 8 - 10 hits per day without even trying. But I work downtown and live near a university campus so... :p

It's official. Fewer passes on Streetpass Day than on a regular week-day. #brokenbritain

Still, 14 isn't all bad.

The only time I'm near either of those places is if I'm on a run, and I don't run with my 3ds XL.

I'm shocked I never get streetpasses on campus while near is always constantly packed with people.

I had owned the system since June 2011, and I currently have 2031 StreetPass Tags, with a plaza population that is over 3000. On average, I usually obtain 5-9 Mii's on my daily outings, and usually from places that I wouldn't expect (such as getting several Mii's from the Philippines when I was on vacation in Yellowstone National Park).

I do remember picking up a string of Admiral Ackbar's when I had gone to my local comic book shop, once. It was probably one of the weirder Streetpass experiences that I've experienced (so far).

I get at least 10/day at the university. The most I've had in a single day is 16.

Pink puzzle pieces. I'm finally going to catch 'em all!

Edit: University of Abertay, in Dundee, Scotland.

You gotta be careful when passes put their social media names in the text bubble.

It's usually a twitter or tumblr. But sometimes you end up on furaffinity.

I leave my 3ds at home, very rarely do I use it outside my home let alone use streetpass.

I never play any games while I'm out but I still carry the 3DS everywhere for StreetPass! It's worth it! Especially now that relay points exist. Start getting them tags.

A bag is pretty much a requirement to carry a 3DS around everyday. Maybe a large coat will suffice now that the weather is turning.

I was hoping that the latest revision of the 3DS would be thinner and sleeker in order to encourage pocketing. The 2DS makes it even less likely.

I often wear cargo pants/shorts, so I have little difficulty carrying multiple 3DSes in my pockets when necessary ;b

but i don't see how I'd be able to fit a 2DS in there

I'm planning to carry around my 2DS when I get it. I stopped carrying my XL once I noticed lines were going onto the top screen, and once I had accumulated like $200+ worth of eShop purchases. StreetPass isn't worth the chance of losing a $400+ console. A cheap 2DS is something I won't feel bad about losing or getting stolen.

I haven't used StreetPass in a while, so I was wondering how well the new NintendoZone StreetPass relay thing works. Where I live I was lucky to get one or two a week when carrying it around every weekday to university. Do you only get one pass from it or do you get multiple?

you only get one, its basically a chain, one person streetpasses with the hotspot and the next person downloads the previous persons data and so on. Luckily there are many hotspots near my workplace so it's easy to pick up 5 or so on the way there and another 5 on the way back.

Unlocked
Arcade Mode
on Mii Force today

The last boss on the normal mode was ..... interesting.

The laser part gave a good laugh ... but the boss final words were ... strangely sad for such a light game O.o

edit :
I have all the pink puzzle pieces now... Just 400 blue pieces left to get.

How does the pink puzzle pieces appear ?

I mean ... how the first people got then =P

I placed some rubber feet onto the top screen to increase the gap. Though my problem is not so much lines but a scatter of dots in a straight line and only on the right side...
I think it slowed the problem down but the damage has already been done.

I just passed the total 600 mark (all pink too). The pain of travelers with no new pieces for me is becoming great. Though these people usually have plaza population <10,

When a new puzzle(s) is released you get a random piece. So some people will end up starting with pink pieces.

Completed all my puzzles thanks to AWA, yay. ^__^

-I have a good 90 pieces to go, but I did finish 3 panels before the weekend was over.
-Finished normal mode on Mii Force.
-Beat Floor 20 of Mansion (
Cryocutter
is a beast gun after some upgrading)

Also, I managed to rank to Master Gardener in the garden game.
I grew some sort of crystal flower as my last of the 20 plants, and the two characters in the game acknowledged me for it.

I had a bad feeling I would be spending more time in AWA with these streetpass games than my main 3DS games.

Hey, not bad! The thing with cons is that if I don't focus on getting the puzzle pieces but also spend time on other StreetPass games, then I probably won't finish the panels. Not to mention it's time consuming in the first place to clear the queue and such while doing all the other convention stuffs.

I wonder if we passed each other? My message was just "gaf", if you pay attention to messages.

6 is a bit much in my opinion. I mean, for one it means it will probably take longer to get all that data from the Nintendo Zone so you'll likely have to be in it's range for 1 or 2 minutes to get everything. Secondly, that's over half the amount of people you can have queued up in the Streetpass plaza at a time. They should really raise the cap to at least 20. Although I guess that's more of a problem with the Streetpass plaza than the relay system.

I want them to raise it to 20 too, but some of the games are built around having a max of 10 players enter.

Personally I think they should just remove the queuing limit altogether and just let me enter games with 10 people at once, and just store everyone else in the queue and make em wait. D:

When I went to the Indie Games Festival here every time I finished a round of all the games I had 10 more people waiting in queue. I don't even want to think what PAX East is going to be like.

Don't get too excited. It was only announced in the American version of the Nintendo direct along with special updates (read: Special Miis/streetpass tags) for MK7, M3DL (6 tags in a game with a queue of 3...LOL) and KI.

It is pretty easy for Nintendo to filter those things to only a regions Nintendo zone. attwifi provide North American zones so make it so only those get the enhanced queues.

My recent passes: 0. Schedule has not let me hit the NZ and changes in schedule means I have lost my regular passers.

I did spend 5 play coins on streetpass battle and actually beat the emperor though. 2 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss (troop count was ~20,000 away from reaching wins=losses=victory). Pleased it is over for now but I know all too soon it'll be back and I'll probably have to win like 5 times or something...

Yeah, what is up with that? Is there some secret easter egg in the settings that I've never heard about.

I went to Japan last week. Holy shit, my Streetpass Plaza population doubled - it's now at 700. In one week (including a Tokyo Games Show) I finished 6 puzzle sets, thereby completing the entire lot, and played through Streetpass Quest II once. It was insane. My walk from the hotel to Hanzomon station (barely 3 minutes) would easily net me 10 Streetpasses. Another 10 after I get off the train about three stops later.

Now that I'm back home in Southampton UK, things have gone back to being quiet. Did pick up a Streetpass in the local Wetherspoon though - it's someone I've picked up 4 times now. No idea who it could be. Maybe it's a GAFfer!

6 sounds a lot, but I bet it's a carefully considered figure. I imagine they looked at stats, the average number of passes etc and want us folks in the west to match the average passes in Japan.

When you streetpass it just shows you what app they used last, maybe they were changing internet settings or managing data or something. There's lots of reasons why someone would be in the system settings.
