Poor burst, anything that requires that to some extent becomes significantly harder to the point where I think having 2 of them in a light party makes things potentially not worth doing.

The first boss in ST with two Summoners is a PITA. Last boss there too.

That's a party coordination issue, not a Summoner issue.

If the tank holds the boss in the corner where the bees spawn, the Summoners can immediately cast Bane to spread dots and then Fester to do spike damage.

I'll grant that's not possible on the last fight, but the bosses damage output is low and the incoming damage is avoidable, so its more of an execution check than a dps check.

So the following is what I have done right now guys. What should I be doing right now in terms of endgame for my Dragoon Lvl 50? Gear? Dungeons? Weapons? Etc etc.

- I have lvl 10 crafting and gathering.
- Lvl 50 Dragoon.
- Beat the story.
- Maxed out on Flames GC.

Beyond this I'm leveling other classes since I find the leveling aspect to be sometimes more fun than endgame.

Downed Chimera for Relic Reborn and Ifrit HM who is...pretty much 1.23 HM Ifrit, only with easy mode nails because LB and stuns work on him and no auto heal.

Had to get used to the new positioning on tanks though (standing and tanking in the tackle safe zone instead of moving left for tackles), won't pretend I didn't eat a couple of tackles getting used to the new position and thinking I was in the right spot, haha.

So I was playing around with 30 vitality on my Warrior for a bit, I went back to full strength after some tanking.

Inner Beast with full 30 vitality gives around 700-800 on bosses (can dip down even lower sometimes), but with full strength it has almost always given me +1000 HP regeneration. Plus with Infuriate you can stock on Inner Beast, and start building on more stacks of Wrath.

It comes down to what you prefer I guess, but for me having that good self health regeneration after some heavy-hits is more valuable than extra 300HP (or 450 I forgot).

wonder if this is coming to US as well....

I wonder what DQX's endgame is like. I know absolutely nothing about that game.

The endgame experience is pretty sour right now. Farming weapons is good, but not gear. Having to re-run the LONG 8-man dungeons over and over and over again to collect tomes is one of the worst gear grinds I've experienced in my life.

I think this will be the reason why this game goes F2P. You can complete the main scenario during your free month and the endgame does a good job at scaring players away. Very few community hooks too.

Garuda HM down, that was intense.

We wiped 3 times because some silly mistakes, but we knew we could kill her

Got BLM weapon too although I was PLD, but not gonna complaint.

If FF XI didn't scarred players for life in it's first weeks neither XIV will do, who knows what will happen but I don't think this will be the reason. Not all people that will play this game will be able to complete main story until some time...

Endgame progression is basically:

Complete your Grand Company log and get the mission for Amdapour Keep

Start your Relic weapon quest line. The first two steps involve killing Chimera and Hydra, both fights are 8 man fights that do not use the Duty Finder, so you need to form or join a group to complete them. There's always people lfg in Coerthas for Chimera and outside Halatali for Hydra.

Run Wanderer's Palace for some gear

Run Amdapor Keep for more gear and to complete your GC mission (Rewards your l50 Grand Company weapon). It's also necessary to complete AK once for your Relic mission after killing Hydra, but you don't have to wait to do AK, the gear is always useful.

Defeat hard mode Ifrit, then Garuda, then Titan

Enter/wipe in Binding Coil of Bahamut

Amdapor Keep, Wanderer's Palace, Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium all reward Tomestones of Philosophy which are used to buy Darklight Armor and various other items, AK and the hard primals reward Tomestones of Mythology which have a weekly cap of 300 and are used for upgrading your Relic weapon and AF armor to Relic+1 and AF+1. You need 8 runs of AK to cap Mythology weekly if you care about that.

You can get up to Garuda without any ultra hardcore farming - a few pieces of AK armor (NOT darklight) and good execution is enough to beat them with the right party.

Titan is a more serious gear check, as it both requires good coordination and will outright kill party members who aren't sturdy enough, plus you need good dps to down his heart and kill him in a reasonable amount of time.

Everything up through HM Ifrit is puggable. Garuda could be done in theory, but the few DF attempts I've done on her have all gone badly - there are a lot of ways to wipe in that fight, and people seemingly don't have the patience to work as a team to iron out kinks. Forget pugging Titan, I don't see that happening till everyone is far more geared.

That's about it for the endgame progression right now, if you want to do it in a relaxed manner, I'd recommend just doing an AK run a day or so, two on a weekend day - that should easily get you enough of your AK armor to go up through Garuda, and will set you on the road to eventual AF+1

If you're absolutely deadset on grinding out a full suit of Darklight as fast as possible, you'll need to farm AK and probably Castrum Meridianum for more Philosophy stones to buy it faster.

Congrats on Odin.

First dungeon was a success. No one talked, but still. Maybe I won't have PUG PTSD after all. I think I was the only one who read up on it because no one did the bubbles besides me, and I had to limit break half a dozen adds on the last fight. No one else ever used a limit break either... so, at least I wasn't the only new person (since it seems like everyone is already at the end game).

Anyway, one step closer to retainer & mount and now I'm not as terrified of using duty finder. =p Though it looks like the dungeons are gonna get much harder faster. That one was kinda a joke.

Man I just hit 20 on my THM and I have to do four dungeons to get a retainer (I'm at Sastasha)? Apparently dungeons to join a GC for a mount too?

The ratio of rude people I've met so far (Ultros) has been insane enough that I feel like I'm playing a Nexon game; frankly I'm terrified of doing dungeons with random people, especially after some of the chat logs I've seen in this thread. :(

Just this morning I had some dude on magitek armor tell me, "Stop following us noob," when I was following people around to fates. It was actually a large group I'd been doing fates with and I figured they knew better than I did where the next ones were gonna pop up. Like seriously I'm not allowed to go to the same fates you are?

Guess I need to join a friendly FC.

That's really unfortunate. :( try not to let it ruin things for you. The gaf fc is full of a bunch of friendlies. I'm not sure if were full again but send Maple cookie a tell and hell set you up in the fc or in the linkshell chat if anything else.

Maple got me an invite this morning. Thanks again! Everyone is friendly, glad to be a part of it. :)

What are people doing for attributes on Arcanist? Planning on levelling one next but I'm not really sure what to spec into since it's shared between Summoner and Scholar. I'll probably play Scholar most however I still want to be able to swap now and then for a break.

Ok was there a culling of the FC on Ultros? I m still in just wondering what the criteria is?

Also had an inspection at work so couldn't log for a few days, was just outside Ifrit (for the first time). Is there a dungeon to do first before the encounter? Also I just setup my Razer Nostro for tanking, really helps having everything on the fly.

I'd work on getting at least another piece or two of Darklight gear and your jewelery isn't very good imo. I'd suggest going with some Rubellite rings x2 and a Electrum Gorget for the neck and a Rubellite bracelet. I mean alot of people doing AK are pretty well geared if you try to tank chances are they will pull from you.

If you're going with friends then I wouldn't worry so much but if you plan on jumping into the DF you may find it tough with alot of people speed running it and pretty well geared.

I waited until I was 50 before I finally spent my points. I've decided to put 25 into MND, and 5 into INT, as SCH was the job I'm in love with the most over SMN. I've seen some suggest going half and half as well.

Congrats on Odin.

Dungeons are kind of a slow ramp up difficulty wise. In my experience it's not really until you get to Brayflox to a certain extent and Qarn for sure that they get serious. That's a pretty long ways away for you.

Watched a stream on twitch where a healer used the duty finder and he explained the encounters and everyone kept wiping and the DPS was yelling at everyone then started to blame everyone and it obviously fell apart.

The streamer did it again via duty finder, he offered the same advice and everything went perfectly this time.

It shows there is no single representation of the community, some people are just dicks.

Was finally able to grab my Ifrit Cane and got the BLM job unlocked. Big thanks to those that helped and all that wonderful pug talk.

Will be on tomorrow for the Garuda runs.

I hate the lag issues in this game so, so much. I don't know if this is an EU issue or what the problem is but it's definitely not the bandwidth on my side. But AOE heavy bosses (the final boss in Stone Vigil is the second one that gives me massive headaches after story mode Titan) are almost unplayable. I move out of the effect area immediately and position myself on the other end of the arena when the attack hits but I get hit anyway (comparable to this). There's literally nothing I can do to avoid it.

To not die on Titan I had to run TOWARDS him since his attack hit me anyway, so at least the knockback didn't kill me by pushing me over the edge.

Been pretty idle over the past week but finally ordered my new GPU (going from a 560 ti to OC 780) that should arrive mid-late next week.

Definitely going to try and pop in and out between then to avoid getting booted from the guild (not sure how long we can be offline).

It's an issue period. It has gotten better since the beta, but in encounters were being hit by an AOE is basically death it's unacceptable.

Levelling up a Miner past Lvl 30 is excruciating. I used one of those manual things from the first GC rank, and made good progress but then it ran out after 1 level.

The effect is I have a Lvl 38 Warrior, 33 Armorer, and a 30 Miner that still doesn't have access to Mythril Ore that I'm going to need soon. Its all out of buggery. Also NOTHING SELLS on the marketplace other than element shards. Which in turn give the lowest exp/essentially none at all. This shit is rigged wrong, yo.

This should be their number one priority, and it's not just an EU problem because I've had it happen more than once. It's also not lag, because I'm a constant 60ms or less ping. The weird way the server updates is what is causing it. The game isn't updating your position as fast as it should for these types of mechanics to work accurately.

I'm gonna try what was posted in that thread and see if it works, casting a spell as soon as I'm out of the AE to see if it will force update my position.

So I'm confused. My marauder is 19 and I'm not seeing any quests to do. I've done Sastasha but that's as far as I gotten. Do I need to do the other dungeons before I can continue to quest or do I need to go to another major city and start doing the low level quests are there?

The quest as in the story quest? You should've gotten a new one after finishing Sastasha (by talking to whoever sent you there I think)
