I got the storyline quest to do the next dungeon, I just don't have any side quests. I ran to upper La Nooscea but there's no quests there.

The next dungeon should have sent you out of La Noscea to the new areas where you'll be getting new quests. Upper La Noscea is for when you're level 30 and higher.

Switched from DS3 to DS2. Game feels SOOOOOOO much better. Am I just way too used to it from FF11, or is there something to having XHB on buttons rather than triggers?

I've been in dungeons where the tank's health plummeted on trash, and I had to use my strongest heals just to keep him alive.

Then I run the same dungeon again with a different group and the tank's health doesn't drop nearly as quickly. Making for a much more relaxed time.

'twas much better today :)

I'm going to place my blame squarely on the tank from last night :)

Haukke Manor is my favorite dungeon so far. Incredible atmosphere and music, with great lore/story behind it.

I still run it despite needing nothing from it. -_-

Heh, nice :D

Also, I didn't know that if you got 90k'd from a dungeon and you log back in - you'll be put right back in with your party.

Yep! I think the time limit is 10 minutes or something before it kicks you from the party. I had a tank DC on us last night and we patiently waited around for his return.

On the subject of battle, is there any way to change the way tab-targeting works on the PC? Whenever I hit tab it always cycles to the enemies further in the distance and not the one(s) directly in-front of me [you know, the ones I'm actually fighting?]. I checked the options but I couldn't see anything.

I hate the lag issues in this game so, so much. I don't know if this is an EU issue or what the problem is but it's definitely not the bandwidth on my side. But AOE heavy bosses (the final boss in Stone Vigil is the second one that gives me massive headaches after story mode Titan) are almost unplayable. I move out of the effect area immediately and position myself on the other end of the arena when the attack hits but I get hit anyway (comparable to this). There's literally nothing I can do to avoid it.

To not die on Titan I had to run TOWARDS him since his attack hit me anyway, so at least the knockback didn't kill me by pushing me over the edge.

Ahahah that video, it seems to see myself while doing Titan. I never knew if I would be hit or not. The only difference is that I managed to not fall down most of the time. The main reason why I want SE to have real EU datacenters.

Doing normal Ifrit again on my GLD. I can see how people have a hard time interrupting the eruption in time. With the global cooldown being so long how do people do this? Is there a tell I'm missing. Something he says before each cast? I just don't understand how its possible to keep agro and have your GCD up to try and stop as many eruptions as possible.

Mind you I haven't done it yet, I can just see it being a problem. Can anyone fill me in on how this is normally done? *edit sorry I wasn't clear. I'm talking about Hard mode coming up, obviously doesn't matter much on normal*

are you perchance on wireless?

I got some skills with my Botanist that increase shard rates but... isn't there a lightning shard ability? It's the one I mostly have to farm because of my weaver and the abilities only affect earth, water and wind shards :(

customer support is so ridiculously understaffed, i don't know why square is sleeping so long on this issue. the game must appear like abandoned junk for newcomers logging in for the first time with all that spamming going on. are they too cheap to park GMs in towns?

They're probably doing what they did with 11, and banning them -after- they make a couple sales so they can also ban everyone they transact with.

The report function could stand to be streamlined, though.

banning the people that give them business sounds good to me. but i wish there was a faster way. they're destroying the relaxing town atmo. even if you ignore shout, they will spam you in tells when you pass them.

Is Darklight stuff significantly better than AF? Seems like a pain now to get Darklight, but it looks so cool on a DRG.

it's much better. farming is a pain, yes. do it slowly and try to have fun, heh. don't burn yourself out.

My butts too big haha. Got a little flab hanging off the swimwear.

So watching cutscenes gets you screamed at by groups now. The game has gone to shit since I hit 50.

thats bull. If they didn't want to watch cutscenes, then they should take the time out to get in a party with people who agree that they want to skip the cutscenes. Its just screaming at random people who use the Duty Finder because they can't get their way.

Can't say I'm feeling this game so far to be honest, I had a bit of a love affair with FFXI and played it for a few years - and I think what helped was that it was my first (and only MMO) but I started off at the same time as a great group of people and we all stuck together the whole time I played it.

With this game I was hoping to relive some of that good feeling, but so far it just feels like there are a few thousand people all just happening to be playing a single player game in the same game world.

No one even bothers talking to you. I have started as a WHM (same as I started with in XI) and in XI people used to be so thankful for a quick heal as you passed them by, or a raise if they were lying there dead.

So far I've healed a few folk to save them from what looked like certain death, and raised a couple of players, and no one has even uttered a quick "ty". It feels so unfriendly.

Trouble is, a lot of the people I played XI with started this theday it was re-released, and I couldn't start it then sadly. So they are way ahead of me as I couldn't create a character for ages because the server was locked. So so far I've played up to level 17 on my own. Just mooching around doing whatever side quests I can and a few story missions.

And the worse thing....which I know a lot probably won't miss. No real time air ships and ferries. I used to love the down time sat just having a chat with friends while traveling or waiting for the next ferry to arrive.

I know I should be treating it as its own game, but it just doesn't feel anything like I imagined it would. I miss those big open fields and being scared of starting off not wanting to travel any further than a few yards from the gates of Windurst.

Still, only been playing 3 days so perhaps once I get a involved with a party and do a dungeon or something, I'll start to fall in love with it.

Got to say I'm finding targeting NPC's and non-party members with a gamepad to be a pain in the arse though!

I just tried HM Titan with a WHM who thought it was a good idea to use level 1 rings.

I swear, gears check can't come soon enough.

If he was having that much trouble, chances are the problem lies further beyond just his gear. Very seldom are there encounters where damage is too much to keep up with while everyone is doing what they're supposed to (killing adds, interrupting, staying out of AoEs, etc.)

Tonight I was with a SCH and BRD friends, and we decided to book up the DF for Garuda, since we were at that step of the relic and had nothing to do. A few minutes later the DF was ready and we got into the instance, the people said hello, the tanks decided who was main tanking, buffs were cast and everyone got in position without anyone saying much more.

Fight started and soon enough it ended, I was amazed what a good group of people we happened to find to be able to have the fight go so well and smooth. Everyone was praising each other at the end, oh and my SCH friend got his Garuda book.

Also, since I was as SMN, I was able to parse my damage and I can only say: holy shit.

Good thing I already have the BLM relic because when the nerf hammer hits SMN, it will hit it hard, very hard.

That's the third time in a row that I can't even land a hit during the Svara FATE because the PS3 version for some reason prefers loading every person's chocobo and pet before loading the god damn boss. God, I can't wait for the PS4 version to be out already.

Come to Ultros if you arent already. Plenty of highs and lows, but i've seen people thank others for passing help. Whether attacks or heals.

Also you should have had a dungeon or guildhest party by now at level 17.
