Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

The yesterday's discussion made me think, instead of begging for resident evil and silent hill that probably we won't get and even if we do they would probably be mediocre action games, why don't you tweet requests for GOOD survival horror like amnesia and other pc games? They are way better and probably they have also more chances to be ported.

but why looking outside for survival horror ? Sony got Siren ya know. Shu should just let Toyama make a brand new one.

yo, copy this too

@yosp give Folklore another chance on Vita and add new 4 players co-op ad-hoc/online mode to hunt folks #FolkloreVita #Suzetas4ever #TeamBelgae

While an improved Foklore would be welcome, and while there's a lot of improvements that need to be made, I don't believe 4 player co-op is one of them

What i wanted to say is that survival horror fans can request cheaper and less known but actually good survival horror instead of games that probably we won't get and that survive mostly thanks to the nostalgia of the past good games.
(a new)Siren is one of those games to request imo, i name amnesia because i want people to know that don't exist only resident evil and silent hill and that pc is not only the home of small indie games, we could try requesting other kinds of pc games.

First they need to give Gravity Rush a proper end. I don't care if it takes them 1 or 2 games more. But I need my Kat fix and know why
she looked like a priest in some flashbacks / how is she involved with the world's end.

If they give me a proper ending, I'll happily accept a survival horror for them.

I want Puppeteer Vita so bad.

Do not want to rebuy an old console right now.

Or atleast release it for PS4

I prefer 2D platformers in a handheld system. I think they suit better in an intimate experience than in a 40" screen. They are perfect games for short bursts (when I'm on the bus / train, or when I need to just kill some time)

Hello GAFfers, first post here.

If I get an imported vita (from japan) will it work with an American PS3??
I know the consoles are region free but I couldn't find an answer online if they are compatible with each other or not.

Yes, the Vita is completely region-free.

The only thing you have to be concerned about is DLC as the Vita only supports one PSN ID at a time. Unlike the PS3, switching between multiple accounts is a hassle as you have to either format your memory every time or have several of them. You also have to format your Vita itself.

for fuck's sake. How can a multi-million/billion company fuck this up?

Unfortunately, the console space isn't as progressive as Steam or even the now defunct retail PC DVD market. One of the best things about PSP custom firmware was that you could buy your games on UMD (usually at a significant discount) and then rip them to your memory stick thereby getting a digital copy as well; best of both worlds.

Really wish Sony had implemented an optional CD Key type system that if used, allowed you to install the physical game to your memory card thereby locking the game to your account. Sure it would mean that you couldn't trade in your games any longer but I think it'd be a tradeoff some would be willing to make. Personally, I'd rather support retail while taking advantage of the usually lower prices plus I don't trust Sony (or any console manufacturer) enough to spend significant amounts of money on their digital ecosystem. Steam and GoG are the only two I feel confident about.

I'm only going to use my American PSN ID so I shouldn't have any worries.

Thanks! Will order one asap.

Guys, I just see an interesting video that records both the OLED and LCD Vita in motion. Link here

Remember that the best way to see the comparision is using your own Vitas.

Enjoy :)

Since you mentioned you're chasing one from Japan, I take it you're after one of the unique colours they offer over there?

Yeah, I really dig their "cosmic red" vitas. The black buttons go so well with the red and it's my favorite color combo as well :)

I hope the 32 people i streetpassed today at the Nintendo "event" will listen to me

With Andy House saying Vita TV is for families it is a bit weird that they didn't release a family aimed piece of software on it ...

For me on Vita it's Tearaway. That's one of my most anticipated games period, in fact.

Me too. Except I think it's budget priced in Europe yet not in the US. Gonna have to check on that though.
Gonna be way to invested in the PS4 world I think to go $40 down on Tearaway when it releases I think.

Yes man, #Teamaway keeps growing even if it's fate is bombing.

Toukiden, but it doesn't have a release date in the US yet. :/

Tecmo EU web says December 2013. They will probably release it in both regions the same week.

I suppose PS Vita Pets will be bundled. It has some AR stuff, but they could get rid of it for the TVita. The adventure part could be nice. Maybe they will map Tearaway to work with a Dualshock 3/4.

What I don't get is why the PS3 has an Invizimals game. Keep the AR game for the handheld Vita, release the adventure game along with the TVita.

What game is everyone looking forward to at the moment?

Tearaway. Media Molecule is my favorite studio so having them doing a new franchise for the Vita is the best thing I can imagine. The game looks awesome from what I have seen.

Also, this thread may be getting better with the Tearaway release ;)

For me it's Tearaway and I keep going and going to the Dragon's Crown Pre-order page with the free Artbook but never go ahead and just pre-order it (I'm in Europe). It's not because I don't want it fellow GAFfers, it's just my wallet that is a bit empty at the moment but those two are my upcoming most wanted Vita games so far.

What's the cheapest place to get a USB cable? I picked up a Vita off Craigslist yesterday for a friend, but it didn't come with a cable or an AC adapter. While I picked up a couple of adapters when they were $3, I only have one cable left.

If there are any good knockoffs, I wouldn't mind getting one of those.

Basically, because next-gen doesn't kick off for me until Christmas, this is the only thing I can look forward to playing in November. And boy am I looking forward to it. It's going to be the mad notes.

Edit - Oh shit, I forgot, Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse is out this year sometime as well. That's a big deal for me.
