Week two Dragon's Dogma added another 82,000 units, making for over 400,000 copies sold in a fortnight. It is Capcom's 55th game to top the one million mark.
Buoyed by that success, Capcom said it plans to "develop this entirely new brand into a major franchise".
"Dragon's Dogma is part of Capcom's basic strategy of establishing game franchises through the creation of new brands," the Japanese company said in a note released today.
Director of the Devil May Cry series and Dragon's Dogma, Hideaki Itsuno enthusiastically spoke of his dream to make a sequel to Dragon's Dogma. "We were only able to use about 60 to 70 percent of the ideas we had for the game. There's so much we still want to do." said Itsuno. One of the potential ideas still on the back burner would be to give pawns (servant characters that players can share with other players) quests that other players can play, as well as newer jobs and races.
Deep Down is a f2p online game being made by Capcom's mobile/PC team in Tokyo I believe. I would hope it has absolutely no bearing on what Itsuno's team in Osaka does with their series.I almost want Dragon's Dogma 2 to be delayed for a while though, I don't want confusion with the other Capcom "DD" to damage its sales.
Dragon's Dogma G, a next-gen version of Dragon's Dogma with new quests and monsters, coming late 2014.
Onimusha please!

Who? Did you mean Lady and Trish, right?Devils Never Cry.
Dante Nero and Lucia as playable characters.
Second that motion, Rugal, here I come.Capcom vs SNK 3
New third person shooter DMC, cover mechanics, more focus on gunplay and shooting; swordplay de-emphasized. DLC weapon and map packs.
Hopefully i can live in a world where i can get both Devil May Cry 5 and DmC 2.
That's very likely. It won't be anything anyone wants.

As much as I would love it to be next-gen DMC5 (a game that would get me to buy a PS4 as soon as the game launched), I wouldn't be at all opposed to something else new or more Dogma.
Or hell, the way Capcom is operating now-a-days, it could just be a cross-gen DMC5 so that they can try to get as much money as possible.
But whatever it may be, I just really want a new DMC, so that Itsuno and Neo_G can deliver the definitive "next-gen" DMC that DMC4 wasn't quite up to being.
That's be very surprising assuming that it's an Itsuno directed game. His track record is golden right now.
