I hope they have more meaningful aesthetic changes this time around, like Wario from his WarioLand appearance to his WarioWare S&M biker getup in Brawl. Not just color swaps. As long as her hitbox isn't affected too much (that sounds a little wrong), maybe a Metroid Zero Mission Samus, Metroid Prime Samus, Dark Samus, or Fusion Suit Samus outfit.
I feel like I'm one of the only people who opposes adding in alternate costumes. They take a lot of time and effort to develop, and they have to make them fit in with the feel and art style of Smash as well. I think stuff like Wario in his classic plumber garms is fine, or a female version of Villager but a lot of Smash's charm, in fact its essence, is the characters within it, and picking and choosing between different versions of that characters could be a blessing or a curse in a game like this.
It could either detract from how iconic their original/current design is, or makes them unrecognisable in a foreign universe other than their own purely for the sake of representation.
It's definitely something that has been championed by Capcom within their fighting games, and other devs have followed suit with their titles, but even if it was by DLC it still wouldn't be something I'd be interested in personally, especially in a Nintendo title. But that's just me.
