Still don't know how those get allowed.

On the other hand, it lets me know to never be alone with those posters or leave anyone alone with them

To this effect, the tendency of various many folks in here to immediately dismiss anyone with an anime avatar, or considering those who like Japanese-related stuff as "weabo" or "weirdo".

People who act all high and mighty like that irks me.

I guess just people who I've never seen have more than one sentence in their posts. Its more often than not total inanity, too.

And just sociopathy in general, when you get the vibe that someone can't get enough of being anonymously shitty to people.

How about the word sociopath itself? It's been used constantly all over GAF since Breaking Bad and Dexter posts bleed into every topic. It's the buzz word used for any bad news story and TV show topic.

It's funny. people know that it bugs people in real life, so they use it on the net to "put people in their place" in a virtual online environment.

Intellectual dishonesty, mainly people being purposely obtuse to win an argument. There's nothing worse than that, it ruins a good discussion in no time, annoys me and derails the argument since it becomes about the other member's bullshit.

Having spent most of yesterday in the GTA V threads I'm thoroughly done with the word hyperbole.

Man.. I barely going on gaming side now but I just hopped into that not hyped for GTA5 thread, read a very decent op that was not trying to click bait or anything, and then saw a ton of "dont care you dont care" and "wow youre so cool for not liking a popular game"..gah..fuck..if I was a mod I'd nuke everyone in that thread. Next time someone makes a "I'm so excited for xxx game" thread I'm just gonna post "I don't care that you care" and "ok" just to see what happens.

Usual GAF hype stupidity. Apparently if you're not interested by a game everyone wants, you're trolling or trying to be cool.

It pisses me off when non sales threads turn into sales threads. Basically every Wii U or Vita thread. I don't mind sales discussion in the slightest (in fact I take part in these discussions often) but when there's a thread about Vita firmware update and it turns into sales talk it makes me so mad.

It's even worse when there's a thread like "DKC Tropical Freeze announced" is made and everyone talks about how the game won't save the Wii U. Fuck off, I just want to discuss the game, I don't give a shit if it won't save the Wii U.

Oh, and when there's a new thread about games like TW101, Fuse, or Lost Planet 3, instead of talking about the game we talk about how the game is gonna bomb so hard. There's plenty of threads to talk about the sales potential of those games, but you shit up threads that are about new features or hype threads or whatever.

I hate this shit, along with the drive-by posts of people who only know the barest amount about the games but want to take another opportunity to shit on them (e.g., "Lost Planet 3/Spark lol lol, or "Still not buying Fuse after that art change 2 years ago", etc.)

The signature thing is kind of annoying, I guess, but it's not hurting anything. Most of these things aren't. I don't really get the rage, but I get real pissed off about unreadable sentences and bad punctuation, so I guess we all have our things.

The posts about the gaming side, though? Woo. Agree. It sucks, because there can be some great discussion, but half the posts are useless, baiting, fanboy defense, etc., and it just makes the actual discussions a pain to follow.

Not unique to here: calling anyone who disagrees with the mainstream about x in a thread about x an automatic troll. Troll in general gets overused, I think.

eta: OKAY OKAY I HAVE ONE: yay or nay?

IT'S YEA, MOTHERFUCKERS, YEA. IT'S YEA. Y-E-A. YEA.

now I sympathize with the vitriol. i'd forgotten. carry on.

People who start threads and the first sentence of the OP is "I have a question..." or something along those lines.

I know it's petty but it's always irked me.

"should of" and "could of" also annoy me to no end.

the funny thing is these errors tend to be made only by native english speakers. people who have learned english as a second (or beyond) language do not make these errors because "yay or nay" and "should of" do not make any sense.

A big one for me lately is people prefacing their thread titles with "Public Service Announcement" or "PSA". It adds nothing to the title. Just get to the point.

Let's vent some frustration, GAF.

Basically anything like it was written by or reads like it was written by...

To be honnest, there are tons of gta 5 threads already. If you want to express opinions like: "I'm not hype for gta 5", post in those threads. Especially there is already an "I'm not hype for gta 5" kind of thread which is not so old. Why didn't the person just post there instead of making a new thread? And if the person couldn't find the thread, he/she could've gone to the GTA 5 OT thread which always on the front page at the moment. Making a thread like that seems like seeking attention, and the way gaf - in general - deal with these types of thread is not pretty at all. The thread you mention serves as an example. Posting in existing threads could've resulted in a healthier discussion, as long as the poster isn't trolling around.

My opinion, if you want to share a thought about a topic and the thread that cover the topic is too old to revive, then you can make a new thread (which is why lttp/rttp thread exist).

Reminds me of the billion broken Microsoft development discussion or article links posted to answer peoples support questions. MS must have changed their url format at some point and now there's a ton of developer support discussion that go like this:

I'm having this issue that is exactly like the one Felix Lighter is going to have in 3 years. Any help would be great, thanks!

The answer to your question is laid out perfectly in this article:

That worked perfectly, that saved me dozens of hours. I never would have figured that out on my own and there are no other references to this issue on the entire internet!

I stated before that I hated people who complained about spoilers and beg for spoiler tags, but now I'm annoyed by posters who spoiler tag non-spoilers. It's like, get a fucking life. I should just automatically put those people on ignore, but I'm too lazy. It's just pointless though. Nothing under those spoiler tags is ever worth the effort of clicking on it anyway, so why even bother? The spoiler tag feature was the worst addition to this forum.

Boy, it would've been even more annoying if I'd decided to end my posts in "FIN." like I originally wanted to when I started on usenet. I got the idea from the french cartoons I watched growing up. Pink Panther and some toon about a shark and his pal ended their credits with "FIN." in capital letters. I always liked that, so I was going to end all my posts like that. Then I think "peace out" became a thing in the early-90s and...well...the rest is history.

Fuck yo script. :P PEACE.

I think I would like FIN better. I always read PEACE. like you're posting this comment and you're out. Screw whatever your response is.

-Less serious but still pretty annoying is people quoting a great gif page after page. They don't write anything useful, usually one or two words like "dead" or "I'm dying" or "greatest gif ever", it's done solely to spam the page with the gif. And it's fine if it's a hilarious gif and like half a page is devoted to people loving it, but sometimes it goes for 3 or 4 pages. It's annoying as shit.

Boy, are you gonna love this thread!

Threads posted in Gaming when they belong in Off-Topic and the only reason they're in Gaming is to rile up fanboys, i.e most Microsoft threads that have nothing to do with the Xbox and are about the company as a whole.

I got one!

The word 'salt'

Nowhere else really uses it except here. You go to Gaming side and it's in most threads. Such an outdated word

It's like still using rad

You talking about calling someone salty if they're bitter or whatever? That's enjoying a general resurgence. Not outdated. Overused lately for sure, but not outdated.

People who quote posts only to say "This." I don't know why, but it really irritates me. >:(

Also, people who say "I literally spit out my coffee/milk/beer/soup/cereal/oatmeal/grape/apple/orange juice all over my screen and keyboard while reading this" and the post they're talking about was nothing special.
Does this actually happen anyway? Do people really spit that much on their screen and keyboard when something slightly surprise/shock them on a forum? It never happens to me.

People who when posting reaction images to a post or thread, use ONLY images of people of their own race. MTHanded does this constantly and it bugs the shit out of me for some reason.

Also not a fan of "holy shit" when it comes to a tidbit about an upcoming system.

"blah blah blah xbox one won't be able to stand up vertically and play"

holy shit
