Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | September 2013 | Token Indie Thread

La Mulana is %80 off on Steam, down to $3. http://store.steampowered.com/app/230700/

I don't think it interests enough people to warrant a PSA, but I know a lot of my Vitabros like some of the same stuff I do. Spelunky fans, or anyone looking forward to 1,001 Spikes... Metroidvania fans and fans of challenge. My only complaint is that it's not widescreen and can be buggy when changing display options, but I highly recommend it, and it'll always be a top priority on my Vita-port wishlist.

Tamers was so good.

Frontier almost killed the franchise (it got saved later) but it's really Bandai fault for killing the Digimon games fanbase completely in the west with the way they handled the games, Digimon World games are good but shitty Bandai dropped the ball.

Tamers is pretty good too, although the last part is kinda weird.
___

I finished Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and I thought the games was actually better than some people says here. I've only played 1, bought the second in PSN but weren't able to give a try yet.

Gameplay wise, once you get used to the slow aiming, it's pretty good. Some of the treasures you get actually make you feel like a fucking archeologist! Specially those charcoal rubbings. It felt so much better than the simple collectibles from the first Uncharted.

The platforming is... well, automatic, like every other Uncharted. I liked who most of the game there aren't huge waves of enemies, was a more refreshing experience. The story was decent although I prefered the one from Uncharted
(anything can beat Nazi Zombies lol)
, but that plot twist man, i didn't expected at all
that there isn't anything supernatural! Were are the mutant indians!

The boss battles with the touchscreen quicktime events were... not that good. But after playing shit like Tomb Raider QTE I have to say I prefer touch screen QTE than using physichal buttons. They can be annoying, but they are way more intuitive than pressing randomly square, O, X and triangle.

IMO the game is a solid 8 or so. Not a GOTY contender but a very good game. Well, 8,2. Dat lighting effects were awesome. But the pixelated fire was really shitty. So 8 xD

Only reason to leave Spain and go back to England (other than maxing out credit) is to taste some KZ in multiplayer. Haven't played since the first few days of the closed beta.

Anyone had this issue where they can't connect to psn abroad? I can download updates and patches, manage my account and also use the webstore normally but no go with the vita psn store to download anything or play online. Seems a bit gimped for a portable.

Several persons here connect to a PSN from a different region to theirs so it works. I guess the problem lies on your end somewhere, maybe it's the router?

What the! I'm not even using my own router at home. I have to go to cafes. I was using a router about a month ago in a different area here and it wasn't working... It said refused connection... I tried it again at some cafes but the page same problem. Seems like a security thing but I'm not using the account anywhere else... I could try changing the password I guess.

I was waiting it out for a Vita port, but $3 is just too good to pass up.

Hopefully he means Type-0 VITA/PSN =/

Edit: Also

October is almost here and with it comes the excitement for horror that Halloween brings. Lone Survivor, a survival horror game originally released on PC, will be arriving just in time with an official release date set in Europe for September 25th. A US release is also set to follow about two weeks after.

Final Fantasy Agito is possible for Vita: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201309/18040161.html
I want their blood

This doesn't look too bad at all honestly.

That's because it uses Type-0's assets, haha. It's a companion title to that game. Square Enix hopes to release Type-0 internationally first.
It doesn't look bad and it's using type 0 assets, but for some reason when i look at the graphics it feels somewhat wrong, bland and cheap, type 0 feels somehow different, stylish, raw, chaotic, violent, awesome and not cheap for sure.

Playing Liberty City Stories on my Vita makes me wish two things- that we'd get a GTA Vita game, and that Sony would add more emulator options regarding image quality.

Question regarding GTA: LCS PSP, was there no manual camera control in it or what?

Also it does look pretty horrible on the VITA screen. Runs decently enough though.

Awesome news. I am planning on buying Lone Survivor on day one!

Now I just need a release date for Proteus and my Fall will be complete. :D

Golden went far beyond expectations, surprising Atlus with just how many people bought a Vita for it

Although P4 isn't one of my favorite JRPGs (It's a good game don't get me wrong, but I prefer P3 and P2 duology over it) I was one of those people last year ha

I'm Free Wednesday and late Friday.

Also I saw the new scans and data is transferable. Can someone translate the other details from the scan.

We knew about transferable data -- but that seems really pointless to me if it's a full import unless they allow you to just buy the "Delta" add on as DLC.

The latest issue of the long-running Japanese V-Jump magazine has apparently ousted the Japanese release date of the anticipated JRPG Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. The magazine claims that both the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game(s) will be available in Japan on December 19th. The PS3 version will reportedly cost 7,980 yen (roughly $80 USD) while the Vita versions will cost 4,480 yen (roughly $45) apiece.
If this “leak” is to be believed, then it seems unlikely that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will reach the west this year. Hopefully some official announcements regarding this title will come out of the Tokyo Game Show, which begins this Thursday.

$10 premium over the PS3 version seems okay.

Colin Moriarty's hand on http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/18/the-new-ps-vita-hands-on-impressions

The new PS Vita does away with the “mystery port” atop the old hardware (we still don’t know precisely what it was for), allowing the slot for the Vita card slot to be centered.

What was the point of that empty space?

"Accessory port
For connecting accessories (which are sold separately)."

Is there a way to block in dragon's crown?
I just unlocked online...

Also, what's the ATLUS/SEGA news?
Oh, Sega bought Atlus? That doesn't sound like a bad thing...

Only Fighters can do that. The others can only evade evade evade evade.

Not SEGA, SEGA SAMMY.... as for whether it is a good or bad thing, only time can tell I guess.

SEGA actually releases Vita games. They just don't localize them.

It's like the PSP 1000's infrared port. Sony never used it, and removed it in the 2000.

*peeks in*

No Atlus meltdowns in here? Guess you all are just grateful that Nintendo didn't snatch them up, lol.

It's not like SEGA is a prolific supporter of Vita or anything like that.

Basically, *nothing changes* in terms of Vita, so we have no reason at all to act all meltdown-ing.

Yeah. Sega is a great supporter of the Vita. They could definitely do with more localizations. Wo knows. Maybe Atlus USA would localize not only Atlus titles but some Sega ones as well.

...doubt it.
