Mini-Pokemon news: LONG NECK VS T-REX (Amaura and Tyrunt evo)

So what's up with that Professor Sequoia thing? Typo on IGN's part, or not?

I think I vaguely remember one of the WPM leaks a while back mentioning two professors, but I could be wrong.

I would laugh if Tyrantrum's full design included something absolutely ridiculous like a royal orb on his tail after everyone saying it's the best design ever.

Team Long Neck

Sounds like a lot of older Pokemon in this game, I hope this doesn't mean a relatively low number of newbies though! Ideally I'd like around 120.

I like that the Amargasaur has a noticeable thumb claw, not big on them being based on a depiction of Amargasaurus that probably isn't true.

Not feeling the beard on the Tyrannosaurus. The rest of him's okay.

That Tyrantrum tho.
Both fossil evos look pretty sweet, still probably gonna use Tyrantrum though. All hail the king!
So, I'm gonna go on a blackout now, even though it's unlikely we'll see anything else. I hope I have the willpower lol.

But what can assume with that statement issued one or two things. All Pokemon are obtainable within the game or all Pokemon data is in the game. Polygon is just reporting on what they were told.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure all Pokemon data is in the game, just like they were in previous games (through that point).

Man, I don't understand any of this. I used to know every single Pokemon in the 151 days. Now I'm completely overwhelmed.

No worries, each game still has a fairly manageable number of Pokémon in its own regional Pokédex, so it doesn't feel overwhelming. You're still introduced to the region's Pokémon in an organic way. Only in the post-game does the number of available creatures start to burst at the seams.

According to a tweet from Junichi Masuda, Pokémon X and Y pre-orders have already reached 1 million units in Japan. We still got 3 weeks to go, so it looks like XY are more likely than ever to do better than MH4 at launch. Maybe 2 millions, could be nice!

In other, non-Pokémon X and Y related news, Masuda said that Yamauchi was apparently quite fond of Pokémon... didn't know that.

Thanks to StreetsAhead for translating the tweet :)

I wonder how catching EXP will affect EV spreads.
Will it just be the standard stuff? Or are they gonna do something different?

Interesting. I plan to grab the new game, I just haven't played one since the Gold/Silver days, and haven't beaten one since Red/Yellow/Blue.

The trainer was also given a Weight Bag item at this time. The weight bag can then be used on any Pokémon in the party to increase their EVs for a pre-determined stat.

Ooh, that's even better than just getting the increase.

Omg... did I just read a hint at 3DS and Wii U Pokemon Snap at the end of that Polygon article? I mean, he didn't even brush it off... it sounded promising... Oh no! The hype!

Dang, Game Freak is on a roll. Tyrantrum is such greatness on so many levels, while Aurorus is like a sleek beauty... does anyone know how big it is? I'm hoping it's large enough to rival Wailord, but I doubt it.

These are definitely my favorite fossil Pokemon since Ruby/Sapphire. (Claw fossil master race) I really hope Aurorus is viable despite that awful type combination. Ice needed another resistance... T-T

Shouldn't a new thread be created for all these first hour impressions articles showing up? Or is there already one and I missed it?

Champ level.

What's this about? It just sounds like the Power items from previous games.

I think they're consumables like the vitamins and wings. The Pokemon participating gets a boost from the actual training and you get the item you can use on any of them as a bonus.

Not sure, though.

Again, Gen IV fossils were exclusives(and in Platinum, you could only find one type depending on your trainer ID). You get to choose as usual in Gen VI, though.

Oh dear, that's correct. I tend to not remember lots of things about 4th Gen.

Also shameless plug for we hard working folks at Nintendo Life, here's a link to some impressions from those of us lucky enough to play:
