Would it make sense to play the game even though I've watched the anime? Any major differences or alternate paths to get something different from the anime? Otherwise, I already know how everything will play out and won't be worth playing.

It goes into more detail about whats happening and has multiple alternate paths and endings.

I'm interested in this too, since this is just a visual novel release. Really glad though they are bringing it over. Thanks!

Posting in here so I can remember to order this after work.

I will probably do the same anyway, regardless of story included. Edit: Have to buy it now.

This is great news. Too bad I won't be able to purchase it due to not owning a credit card. Really looked forward to it. Hopefully it gets the greenlight to get on Steam.

Ordered, can't wait. Probably moving before this ships though, so I hope JAST is good about changing order info.

Physical edition got!!

I am surprise this isn't coming to steam, there are so many potential customers.

It is a 20-40 hours long visual novel, a lot of the detail is left out in the anime. If you only watch the anime, beside the different endings, there are still a lot of surprising plot point that they excluded in the anime.

Damn, that's tempting, but I don't have a CD drive (though I'd get the download edition for pre-ordering, so works out, I guess) and no idea if I'd be able to afford it.

Limited Edition GET!

The official release has been a long time coming, but there's finally light at the end of the tunnel.

It might be due to Nitroplus being extremely reluctant to put it on the service.

Man not sure if I want a fourth copy of this game (own Xbox 360 , Xbox 360 LE, and PS3 LE) but please buy it cause it is an amazing game.

Depending on the translation quality, I may consider picking up Steins;Gate for the second time. Anyone who has seen the anime should still play the game. This game goes into SO much more details about the world and quantum mechanics, and it doesn't butcher a certain woman's ending.

Oh right, forgot this was on consoles, not to mention Vita. All honestly, that would probably be my system of choice since I could bring it with me. Kind of tempted to wait & see if they'd make downloadable versions of the game on PSN (either Vita or PS3). In any case, I hope this sells well & expand their platforms like Steam since I know that's the main choice for PC.

I watched the anime and if I recall correctly it ended like a strange mess?

Was there a resolution?

A cash-in movie to tie everything up?

I am so confused.

Definitely going to get this.

I watched the anime before playing the game, i've been dying to know what the source material is like.

The Steins;Gate anime had an awesome resolution. Are you sure you're not thinking of that terrible Chaos;Head adaptation?

I don't recall JAST ever doing a console release.

It was released on PS360 & Vita in Japan. I'm not gonna get my hopes up for retail versions on consoles, but at the very least, a PSN digital release would be nice. But I guess it depends on demand and how well the PC version sells.

When does your card get charged? When it's shipped out?

nevermind it looks like this changed. See below!

It's not happening since Jast isn't a console publisher.

$40 sounds a little pricey but what the hey. Gonna make my pre-order by tomorrow though.

Any of the Visual Novels from that site worth getting as well?
