PC version is great. It's really hard for me to hop on the ps3 version since I've put so much time into the PC. framerate, sound, and music all suffer a lot. PS4 version cannot come soon enough.

I feel like this game really heats my GPU way more compared to other games. It usually hovers around 70 when playing FFXIV and usually sits like 60-63 when playing anything else

Doesn't help I live in Texas, still close to 90F outside on most days. My room don't get much AC. Winter can't come soon enough.

I feel you. I'm in California and it's been starting to cool down, but no AC in my house has been pretty bad when it was getting really hot.

Don't know. Don't seem to take much crits in the first place. Just cast it when I can during bosses cause it looks cool.

It helps but it ain't really needed. Paladins can mitigate damage well enough with their handful of buffs lol.

I've been watching bomb videos all day so if lag has been fixed then plumes are no issue

ill be on in about 30 minutes or so
 
Titan's not so bad as a BRD.
Normally I tank, but that was by far easier than Garuda or Ifrit.
Dodging things isn't difficult at all once you know the pattern.

Mind you our tank was in full AF minus a hoplite circlet and some hoplight accessories w/ an Ifrit blade.
He got by just fine.
 
Does anyone know around what time my friend could create a character on Ultros? He was just able to get the game and would rather not start on a separate server.
 
Is the new Nvidia WHQL driver (327.23) basically the same as the lastest beta (326.80)? I was hoping for a FFXIV performance boost with the new one, but the descriptions look the same.
 
Perfectly fun and epic as hell run of Haukke with GAF. If any other players here ever need DPS help for that place or any other dungeon, you can holla at me. I shall pay this forward hahaha. Even got two pretty good set of claws too! Dat clutch Lea Monde healing!

Edit. Metric truck loads of thanks for the GAF FC invite. Seriously. This'll change the game for me. You guys...you guys! Man I was so excited I think I logged off without saying goodbye to the party.

Kill the healer ASAP and then the other grunts. Avoid getting hit with Howling Fist. Otherwise, you'll automatically heal and your HP levels are boosted for during the fight.
 
Has anything crazy I should know about happened in the past 7 days?

She will heal automatically but not as often as if you control her. I put her heal on my bar and use it between casts, since you can only cast it between casts but it has no GCD for you.

You can just have her on auto but I have been reading to get the most out of her you want to control her yourself since you can have her casting on your chosen target while you move and you can have her aoe hot when you need it rather than have it be on CD because she used it when a few people got hurt for minimal damage. She does not share a GCD with you so you can do this while you are waiting out the 2.5s GCD. I think most of the early content I have done she is perfectly capable on auto and it doesn't really matter. Since the toolkit for SCH seems smaller than WHM its not hard to learn how to manually control her without making it so you have just too many skills. Some people also macro her abilities into their heals so she contributes to your healing. So there are lots of options. Best to find out which is more suited for your play style or comfort level with the class.

I got owned the first time but the second time nailed it. Focus on the adds first. I think there is a whm, get that one first then the rest then focus on the MNK guy. He's not too bad, make sure to stun his energy bubble attack thing and get behind him when he does the front AoE attack thing.
 
Ugh, Haukke Manor PUG. One of the DPS was yelling at me for marking, saying "he thinks his little numbers are the best plan," and then claiming I'm not pulling off the healer. Granted, I was having a ton of trouble keeping agro off of the healer, particularly when one or more of those handmaiden banshees (or whatever) showed up, but the guy had obviously run the dungeon before and was up ahead of the whole party the entire time, sometimes pulling, sometimes not, with no regard for not pulling stuff from around corners.

So I stopped marking - why bother? - and of course we're slower killing stuff because everyone is attacking something different, and finally we eventually had choice words after we wiped on a freaking trash mob and I just stood there not pulling anything, letting him stew for a while letting him realize I wasn't going to be bullied into leaving. He finally quieted down and we eventually had a decent exchange prepping for the last boss and that went well enough, and we seemed to leave without any hard feelings.

Still annoying. It didn't help that the lag was making hard to tell a mob had gone for the healer. It would be right in front of me one second and then lag would teleport it right next to the healer the next second.
