Fighting Games Weekly | Sept 16-22 | EVO does a 360 and walks away

And not the cape plus battle suit?

Looks like this doofus without the helmet:

Yeah I'm not sure what's DBZ about him besides SOME sort of spiky hair, SOME sort of battle suit and SOME sort of cape on.

Do you need his hair to go yellow when he powers up and flies around shooting energy beams for people to see him as a DBZ character?

I mean he looks more like a DBZ character than a Naruto character IMO.

If you're going to play any other game that isn't a FG, it better be GTA5. GOTY.
That or Pokemon
or Lego Marvel Super Heroes
, but I'd probably still give it to GTA V. I couldn't possibly count the amount of times I've been impressed by the amount of detail/polish in this game, it's kind of scary when you go into an alleyway and realize how different and detailed it is from every other alleyway.

Wish the people in the OT cared for marking spoilers though, pretty much nowhere is safe ATM. :(

EDIT: Lol this is a funny name for a tournament.

its funny how there was all this talk about collusion and character picks but League just has a throwaway troll team with 4 supports at their world tournament.

2 of the games in the GF of DOTA 2 TI3 were troll games too. Although in the end the two teams put up a great show.

bout time Justin switched characters. his Rufus is good but I don't think he's achieving his potential. him never really putting serious time into a real secondary for so long felt a bit lazy to me

waiting for PC version and hoping it controls better than IV

does look fun though

That depends on how good Rufus is in USF4.
+ No longer going to be Messiah-ing over people
+ Ultra II might be useful

- Less throw damage
- Less Raise the Rufus damage

I don't think he's a character likely to improve much, and I don't think that the issues Justin has with him at the top level are likely to get better either. It'll be a game with 44 characters - not being able to swap to an alt or two is probably a big issue. He's so good with Rufus that switching to a new main for a while (especially now in the "off-season") would do him a world of good, just in terms of having more options available to him.

Is that the actual changelist?

Doesn't seem like a lot but there are always hidden changes in these updates that Capcom specifically does not disclose for the sake of "exploration" or whatever crap they spout these days.

Which in turn depends on how they modify the OS/safe jump/vortex mechanics.

Rufus is a fantastic character who has probably suffered the most as the SF4 engine's tech has been found out.

Although ATM all I recall of his changes for USF4, his throw is getting nerfed, his U2 is getting returned pretty much to how it was in Super (AKA, good but U1 was still better) and they're finally fixing the shoto hitbox glitch on his EX Messiah. His fundamental issues are all still there. If they were to buff his j.MK crossup, for example, or make his ground command normals better, he'd shoot up the tiers... but only if the USF4 team modifies the engine enough to eliminate vortexes and, ideally, crouch tech OS.

EDIT: Forgot about U1 damage nerf. I really hope that their approach to his damage nerfs is "less damage, more tools".

Yup. He's a very good character, with only a few really annoying things (both playing as and against) that need smoothing out. He and Yun are examples of about the range you want to aim for w/ buffs/nerfs.
• Rufus' forward throw damage is now the same as the rest of the cast. Reduced to about 135.

• Opponents will not fall out of Rufus' Ultra 2 as easily anymore.

• Rufus' Ultra 2 seeing a slight damage reduction.

Quoted from the TTT2 OT:

http://tgs2013.bandainamcogames.co.jp/schedule/

On the 9/22 part:

There will be a small "Tekken Special Make-up! Extreme reappearance" presentation with Harada up on the sub stage at TGS on the 22nd.

....

EVERYONE PANIC ! ! !

Not sue if the link gives an automatic stream but potentially something Tekken revolution will be shown. Most probably something useless. Starts in around an hour I suppose.

Tekken Revolution being made into a F2P RPG for the iOS.

Because that's what you should expect from TGS and Japanese developers now.

If he goes back to Rufus he will keep losing.

He can switch to Dan and still make top 8 or be in the money (pot split) in every tournament in the states. It's the Japan that makes him look like Marn but they've always done that in every Street Fighter game except Marvel.

If he is switching character so he can be a threat to Japan again, he better put in 120%.

speaking of justin and japan, I really wish I could somehow see the matches he played against Vivi. The idea that Vivi gave him the most trouble last time makes absolutely no sense to me.

He has that pocket adon which he never used, I don't know why

I can't say I know how LoL operates at high level, but is it more of the case where even with troll teams, good teamwork + good fundamentals can really carry a team? At the least, it may be different than say Chris G picking something like Hsien-Ko, Wright, and Nemesis at a GF or something.
