The Nintendo randomness mixed with their high standards always leaves the door open for financial insanity. It benefits us, so I really don't see the problem. But that door does seem like it may be closing.
Mix the Crazy Wario theme in there and remix it with some taunts, add Samus arm cannon blast beats, a Link shriek solo, and then we will have a winner.

Am I the only one that's not really excited about this game? I mean, I remember being way more excited when Melee and Brawl were released. Don't get me wrong, not here to rant on Smash Brothers but it definitely feels like there's no charm anymore.
I know a lot of people who aren't too excited for the game. I think the excitement will be more common when the game is close to release.

Pretty much. I doubt anything will be able to match the hype for Melee (10 years old) and Brawl (14-16) for me.
Still excited for the game though. Looking forward to the newcomers.

Yeah, I think people confused Gardevoir with her or something. There were lots of other weird ones, too (such as a random Pegasus Knight from FE and Baabara the Sheep from AC).
Just 3DS. I cannot afford a Wii U. (Just a kid, really)
There were also reports about Shaymin if I recall correctly; which is weird, because Shaymin hadn't been announced at the time. I'm not sure if they were actually legit.

The 3DS is more exciting to me because of the handheld love-in. Handheld games so rarely get love-ins; console entries just dominate so thoroughly.
But now we can look forward to stages from stuff like Metroid Fusion and Super Mario Land. Oh, and if there isn't a GB Tetris stage, Nintendo messed up.

Melee was coming off of Smash 64. Brawl was coming off of Melee.
Smash 4 is coming off of Brawl.

i have a hard time believing a new smash is going to exist period, just like with X. they still feel so far away. once they start getting closer though, oh man.

I'll believe the "2014" date when I have it in my hands in the year 2014. After the Brawl European thing, I trust nobody when it comes to Smash Bros. Nobody.
Even if they nail Download Play (i.e. no dumbass "Play as Shy Guy" type limitations), it won't beat the appeal of playing it on a big screen with various controllers. I don't think it'll cannibalize much to be honest. I'll certainly be getting both at some point down the line.
