Isn't that him above the fireplace on the left?

Yeah, that looks like him and Violet/Zoe reaching towards each other.

I'm super excited about this season. The second season grew on me...eventually, but I'm excited that the third season seems more focused on a central theme.

Edit: Just bought the House of the Rising Sun Cover. SO EXCITED.

Started watching series 1 in anticipation for this and I'm about to go onto episode 5
The gigolo is legit terrifying, like every shade of nope

this show will give me a nervous disposition

I missed this, but did you guys all consider Asylum to be much more "humorous" than the first season? I thought Asylum was much, much darker (besides the whole Name Game sequence, obviously).

I actually liked elements of Asylum more than I did the first season. Although I'm not sure if I ended up liking it better overall than one. Asylum kind of started to wear me out towards the back half. I need to re-watch it again in marathon session.

I liked the first season a lot, but the 2nd season was boring. I stopped watching it like 3 episodes in.

I'm going to give season 3 a go because Taissa coming back. :)

BTW, I ain't too hot about what's going on with Lily Rabe in that trailer. She better get saved or come back as some damn hell beast or something. Girl was divine last season.

Season 2 was so fuckin terrible... i truly hope they right this ship and get back to some superb pacing paired with some crazy intense scenerios/characters.

Oh yah.. and lets go ahead and just pick maybe 2 big bads this time. Fuckin writers....

Just finished the first series (already) and I'd echo other people saying it kinda fell off towards the end. I think they should have moved the halloween episode back and done more build up to the reveal rather than getting it out of the way so soon

The last episode felt unnecessary too, should have just made the one before a bit longer and kept it about the babies and not to do with the other stuff

Also, why didn't they just sell the house to someone who was into murders and stuff? They could have easily turned it into some sort of murder museum

edit; oh Adam Levine is in S2? Let me hope for the worst for his character.

Some new updates on Coven.

Episode #6 will be called "THE AXEMAN COMETH"

The small info piece for episode #3 - THE REPLACEMENTS has been released. It's very vague, but I have spoilered it just in case.

Fiona takes on an unlikely protégé. A guilt-ridden Zoe tries to give Kyle his old life back. Madison has a fiery exchange with Joan Ramsey, a new neighbor.

and finally, FX have issued a list of characters and respective actors/actresses - though some of the cast members are strangely absent (namely Jamie Brewer and Gabourey Sidibe).
JESSICA LANGE as Fiona
KATHY BATES as Madame LaLaurie
SARAH PAULSON as Cordelia Foxx
EVAN PETERS as Kyle Spencer
FRANCES CONROY as Myrtle Snow
LILY RABE as Misty Day
TAISSA FARMIGA as Zoe Benson
DENIS O’HARE as Spalding
EMMA ROBERTS as Madison Montgomery
They all sound like pornstar names T_T

I've finished series 2 and Asylum > Horror house
I nearly teared up when Kit was talking about Jude towards the end of the series

They did Jude's character arc so fantastically, I thought. I loved how they basically made her
Villain -> Protector -> Protagonist -> Crazy Woman -> At Peace
by the end. I know what you mean when you're talking about Kit's speech about her. It really felt quite authentic.

I'm glad with how Jude ended up, and more importantly I'm glad she managed to bounce back from what would've been one of the worst things to happen to her.

Jessica Lange really should have got that Emmy, she was just fantastic
I do hope she's as good in the coming season

Okay, now this one is fucking cool.

I was actually just reading up on Marie Laveau because I didn't realise she was actually a real person T_T

Of Laveau's magical career there is little that can be substantiated. She was said to have had a snake she named Zombi after an African god. Oral traditions suggested that the occult part of her magic mixed Roman Catholic beliefs, including saints, with African spirits and religious concepts. Some scholars believe that her feared magical powers of divination were actually based on her network of informants which she developed while working as a hairdresser in households of the prominent. As she visited her clients (mostly white) she listened closely to their gossip. Some assert that she ran her own brothel and cultivated informants in that way as well. She appeared to excel at obtaining inside information on her wealthy patrons by instilling fear in their servants whom she either paid or "cured" of mysterious ailments.

Interesting stuff.

...

My eyes. My eyes.

Will Ian McShane be in this season as well? He was so creepy in Asylum.

Lange really enjoyed working with him, to the point where she asked his role to be expanded into two episodes rather than one (and they obliged).

It could happen - last season we had a slew of new actors confirmed for guest parts midway through the season. I'm seriously expecting Connie Britton to make an appearance.

That being said, we have had quite a few confirmations of actors already, it seems pretty crowded.

So READY! Ride a broomstick up my urethra LANGE *.*

Probably the best thing about this show is despite having different stories every season, they have recurring cast members. It's like a seeing the same acting troupe doing a new play every year. Great stuff.

I stan harder than anyone for Patti LuPone but that promo picture is super awkward. Excited that she seems to have a major role though

The promotional pictures confirm my speculations, I think.

Patti LuPone will play a religious nut or something who is hunting the witches. That's my theory, at least.

And given Lily Rabe's appearance in the promotional shot, I wouldn't put it past the producers to have her
somehow living in the present day despite being burnt at the stake.
.

If anyone read the Episode 2 blurb, they'll see that for some reason
Kathy Bates also seems to be "adjusting to modern life"
so that implies that plot line is going to be there somewhere.

HUIFHBNSFD so excited

Can't freaking wait for this. Jessica Lange is so brilliant. I love the premise of this show and how it's something new every year and usually has brand new characters/actors/actresses(aside from a few, obviously). It sure would be nice if we had more horror shows on TV like this.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

The end of the second season showed that this show is capable of greatness when it truly wants to be. It just needs to stop being so aggressively weird and establish a good emotional core earlier in the season.

Had Asylum showed the sort of depth and nuance throughout the season that it showed in the last couple of eps, it could have been outstanding. It was a substantial step forward from Season 1, which was thoroughly dreadful, but it was still a total clusterfuck.

With Ryan Murphy, you just never know. He's consistently inconsistent. In any case, the cast is outstanding. Definitely the best one yet.

I'm not pleased that this season is apparently going to be more humorous. Because I hate Ryan Murphy's sense of humor.

They've said it's "lighter" compared to Asylum, but Asylum was pretty damn dark too. I'm not worried about that comment if I'm being completely honest.

Evan Peters is back... and dating the dead girl from Season 1?

Oh lordy, prepare for "I FUCKED YOUR MOM" round two!

Do I need to watch seasons 1 and 2? I have been watching trailers and they all seem to be self contained or am I completely wrong? I remember watching the premiere of the first season but I never watched it again.
